Everyone faces a low mood.
Everyone
But it varies from person to person how progressive low days are and how serious the low moods can get. and centre around living up to assumptions. But running away from reality isn't the correct way of dealing with it. There are some steps to help you ease out your low mood.
STEPS TO COPE UP WITH LOW MOOD -
1.Take a deep breath and step away - Take a long deep breath inside and put every tension you would be holding out.
2.Find personal space - Then, find a place where you can express your emotions well. So, that you can put off the emotional baggage.
3.Cut all the distractions - Turn off unnecessary noises that may interrupt you. It would be better to cut them off to tap into deep feelings so that you can put them outward.
4.Express your feelings - Putting your feelings out helps in easing the mental pressure.
5.Expressing a range of emotions can free your mind from feeling overwhelmed.
6.Know the underlying cause- Find out what people, situation or community makes you feel low so you can avoid them in future.
7.Forgive - If you don't forgive yourself or anyone else, holding a grudge doesn't take you anywhere. So, better free your mind, body and spirit from resentment.
8.Practice acceptance - Happiness exists only in acceptance so instead of staying in denial accept yourself and your feelings as they are.
9.Stay optimistic - Nothing can be achieved without self-confidence and hope. So it's important to be optimistic
10.Practice Mindfulness - Meditation, yoga, Affirmations, breathing exercises, and mindfulness can do wonders while supporting your emotional and mental wellbeing.
TECHNIQUES TO AVOID IT IN FUTURE -
1.Be Aware of triggers - Know what your triggers are.
2.Create a “not to do” list - Build a "NO TO DO list" based on your triggers. It restricts you from involving in such things again.
3.Engage in physical activity- Exercise has a quite good impact on our mental health and well being as it relieves stress and boosts mood.
4.Engage in fun activities - It may be watching web series, hanging out with friends or playing. Include 3 to 4 such activities which help us to feel refreshed and full of life again.
5.Use positive self-talk - We all have that little voice running in the back of our minds. Make sure it doesn't damage your self worth or image and if it does so replace them with positive ones.
6.Start practising gratitude - Appreciation can do wonders. So, pay attention to good things happening around & don't forget to appreciate them.
