Hello there! The first season of the Disney+ original series focused on the adventures of the great Obi-wan Kenobi after the events of Episode III - Revenge of the Sith came to an end this Wednesday and being a Star Wars fan I decided to make a review of it. I'm going to talk about the whole series so there is a SPOILER ALERT.

After surviving "Order 66" and seeing the end of the Jedi Order at the hands of his own Padawan, Obi-wan decides to "self-exile" on the planet Tatooine in order to protect little Luke Skywalker, however, it is another Skywalker who needs him, which forces Obi-Wan to reconnect with his Jedi past.
I'm going to start by saying "finally", after so many years we finally got what we were asking for, an Obi-wan story (and of course with Ewan Mcgregor), I was very excited when it was announced because with what we have seen of him in the movies and in the great animated series "The clone wars" he became the favorite character of many and of course mine too. Also with the precedent of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett my hopes were high that they would deliver a good story and I must say that I was not disappointed at all, on the contrary.
Episode after Episode, it was a journey through the feelings of the character, we started the story with a slightly different Obi-wan than we were used to, looking to go unnoticed because of the difficult situation of the persecution of the remaining Jedi, it was evident that he was still not over everything that had caused the change of Anakin to the dark side and of course we can not blame him, what happened was completely devastating and completely changed the fate of not only the Jedi Order, but the entire galaxy.
At the beginning he even gives the impression that he feels defeated, however, as the story progresses he breaks free of that and gets involved with refugees and of course with the rise of the rebels, in fact there are several nods to these and to the "Rebels" series almost every episode as the terrible inquisitors appear and yes, the Grand Inquisitor also appears, in fact they are the ones who serve as villains during the first few episodes.
One of the things that stole my heart the most was seeing little Leia, I didn't expect her to be in it, however, I loved her. She's a little Rebel with all the momentum that we remember from the character of the beloved Carrie Fisher (RIP), sometimes she can be a little difficult, but it is completely understandable and justifiable within the character, I love the detail that she has her own robot because they make it clear, once again, the predisposition that the Skywalkers feel towards robots and the ability they have to handle that kind of technology.
As the episodes go by, the nostalgia of the prequels is also present with several flashbacks that lead us to remember the brotherhood and also the conflicts between Obi-Wan and his Padawan. It was very exciting for me to see Hayden Christensen again in his role as Anakin, although it was a bit bittersweet as we see again the scene that completely seals his passage to the dark side, the one of the massacre of the Younglings. About that moment there is a bit of a forced revelation, with which they try to make sense of the character of Reva, one of the inquisitors who is chasing Kenobi, however, for me it is a plot line that does not work very well.
On the other hand, the way they show us how Anakin and Obi-Wan plan their respective attacks/defenses immediately took me back to the time of The Clone Wars and how they both fought alongside the clones against the Separatists, I loved how they show us the endearing relationship they had and how well they know each other.
The high point of the series, for me, are the "face to face" encounters between Master and Padawan, in the first one it is clear the advantage Vader has over Obi-Wan as Obi-Wan still finds himself with a bit of internal conflict and guilt, because he feels that he failed Anakin and that his failure as a master and friend brought terrible consequences for everyone, however, his fighting spirit, his honor and his commitment as protector of the Skywalker twins, make him return to be the Obi-Wan of before, confident of his power and firm representative of the light side of the force.
This is how, during the last episode of the series, they give us what has now become one of my favorite Star Wars fights (the first, of course, is the one between the two of them on Mustafar). It's full of emotion and nostalgia. On one side we have Anakin behind Vader's broken helmet and on the other Obi-Wan with tears in his eyes for seeing what his friend has become, that was for me completely touching and the way Anakin releases his master from the guilt for having "turned" him into Vader was the icing on the cake, I honestly struggled not to let out a few tears because the atmosphere they manage to build during the scene is truly emotional.
To close with a flourish we are introduced to the reunion between Obi-Wan and his late master Qui-Gon Jinn in the form of a Force ghost, which again appeals to nostalgia and we are given to understand that Obi-Wan's final training is about to begin.
OBI-WAN KENOBI
Jedi Master persecuted and self-exiled on the planet Tatooine where he stays to protect and watch over little Luke Skywalker. He is played by Ewan Mcgregor.
LEIA ORGANA
Adopted daughter of Senator Bail Organa, she lives quietly on Alderaan until she is kidnapped and used as a decoy to trap Obi-Wan. Played by Vivien Blair.
REVA SEVANDER
A member of the Inquisitors and servant of the Empire. Obsessively seeks to prove her worth and trap Kenobi. Played by Moses Ingram.
THE GRAND INQUISITOR
Leader of the Inquisition and loyal servant of the Empire, he is a former Jedi turned to the dark side, he becomes one of the great Jedi hunters during the Great Jedi Purge. He is played by Rupert Friend.
TALA DURITH
Empire officer who uses her position to help persecuted Jedi and refugees escape the Empire. Played by Indira Varma.
DARTH VADER
Sith Lord formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, seeks to exterminate the remaining Jedi and destroy his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Played by Hayden Christensen, voiced by James Earl Jones.
1- Seeing Obi-Wan in action again, he's my favorite character in the saga, so having a story completely focused on him was great.
2- Little Leia Organa, she's a completely endearing character, I can definitely see her becoming Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia.
3- Easter eggs to other contents of the Saga. From a clone played by Temuera Morrison, to what we can only assume are the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance. But without a doubt my favorite Easter egg is the "Hello there" with which Obi-Wan greets little Luke Skywalker.
4- The fight between Vader and Obi-Wan in the final chapter, as I mentioned before is a completely emotional and nostalgic scene, my favorite part is when Anakin finally frees Obi-Wan from the guilt of having "turned" him into Vader.
1- Reva, I think they gave her too much relevance for no reason, even with the twist they gave to the character the way they developed her was uninteresting and not to mention the final scene on Tatooine, a complete disaster.
2- The design of the Grand Inquisitor, having seen him in Rebels honestly I was quite disappointed with the representation of the character in this series, it looked like a poorly done cosplay.
3- They don't exploit the full potential of the character, I think they could have made a more entertaining story as at certain points the pace becomes a bit slow especially in the first few episodes. I understand that at the beginning of the series he is undercover and out of shape but it takes too long for him to get back to his old strength.
I know that a lot of fans were left wanting more, however, as a complete product I liked it, maybe because it appealed a lot to nostalgia or simply because it was about Obi-Wan, I know I will enjoy watching it again or see a possible second season.

Voy a comenzar diciendo ¡por fin!, después de tantos años por fin obtuvimos lo que pedíamos, una historia de Obi-wan (y por supuesto con el precioso de Ewan Mcgregor), por mi parte estaba muy emocionada cuando la anunciaron ya que con lo que hemos visto de él en las preculas y en la genial serie animada "The clone wars" llegó a convertirse en el personaje favorito de muchos y por supuesto que mío también. Además que con el precedente de The Mandalorian y The Book of Boba Fett mis esperanzas de que nos entregaran una buena historia eran altas y debo decir que no me decepcionó para nada, al contrario.
Capítulo tras capítulo fue un viaje por los sentimientos del personaje, comenzamos la historia con un Obi-wan un poco diferente al que estábamos acostumbrados, buscando pasar inadvertido por lo difícil de la situación de la persecución de los Jedi restantes, era evidente que seguía sin superar todo lo que había ocasionado el cambio de Anakin al lado oscuro y por supuesto que no lo podemos culpar, lo que pasó fue completamente devastador y cambió por completo el destino no sólo de la Orden Jedi, sino de la galaxia completa.
Al principio incluso da la impresión de que se siente derrotado, sin embargo, a medida que avanza la historia se va liberando un poco de eso y se va involucrando con refugiados y por supuesto con el surgimiento de los rebeldes, de hecho hay varios guiños a estos y a la serie "Rebels" en casi todos los episodios ya que aparecen los terribles inquisidores y sí, también aparece el Gran Inquisidor, de hecho ellos son los que fungen como villanos durante los primeros episodios.
Una de las cosas que más me robó el corazón fue ver a la pequeña Leia, no esperaba que saliera, sin embargo, la amé. Es una pequeña Rebelde con todo el ímpetu que recordamos del personaje de la queridísima Carrie Fisher (QEPD), a veces puede llegar a ser un poco pesada, pero es completamente entendible y justificable dentro del personaje, me encanta el detalle de que tenga su propio robot ya que nos dejan en claro, una vez más, la predisposición que sienten los Skywalker hacia los robots y la habilidad que tienen para manejar ese tipo de tecnología.
Con el pasar de los capítulos también la nostalgia de las preculas se hace presente con varios flashbacks que nos llevan a rememorar la hermandad y también los conflictos entre Obi-Wan y su Padawan. Fue muy emocionante para mí volver a ver Hayden Christensen en su papel de Anakin, aunque fue un poco agridulce ya que volvemos a ver la escena que sella por completo su paso al lado oscuro, la de la masacre de los younglings. Con respecto a ese momento hay una revelación un poco forzada, con la que buscan darle sentido sentido al personaje de Reva, una de las inquisidoras que se encuentra persiguiendo a Kenobi, sin embargo, para mi es una línea argumental que no funciona muy bien.
Por otra parte, la forma en la que nos muestran como Anakin y Obi-Wan planifican sus respectivos ataques/defensas me remontó inmediatamente a la época de The Clone Wars y cómo ambos peleaban junto a los clones en contra de los separatistas, me encantó como nos muestran la relación tan entrañable que tenían y lo bien que se conocen el uno al otro.
El punto más alto de la serie, para mí, son los encuentros "cara a cara" entre Maestro y Padawan, en el primero es clara la ventaja que tiene Vader sobre Obi-Wan ya que este aún se encuentra con un poco de conflicto interno y culpa, porque siente que le falló a Anakin y que su fracaso como maestro y amigo trajo consecuencias terribles para todos, sin embargo, su espíritu de lucha, su honor y su compromiso como protector de los gemelos Skywalker, hacen que regrese a ser el Obi-Wan de antes, seguro de su poder y firme representante del lado luminoso de la fuerza.
Es así como, durante el último episodio de la serie, nos brindan la que hoy en día se ha convertido una de mis peleas favoritas de Star Wars (la primera, por supuesto, es la de ellos dos en Mustafar). Está llena de emotividad y nostalgia. Por un lado tenemos a Anakin detrás del casco roto de Vader y por el otro a Obi-Wan con lágrimas en sus ojos por ver en lo que se ha convertido su amigo, eso fue para mí completamente conmovedor y la forma en la que Anakin libera a su maestro de la culpa por haberlo "convertido" en Vader fue la cereza del pastel, honestamente luché para no soltar unas cuantas lágrimas porque la atmósfera que logran construir durante la escena es verdaderamente emotiva.
Para cerrar con broche de oro nos presentan el reencuentro entre Obi-Wan y su difunto maestro Qui-Gon Jinn en forma de fantasma de la fuerza, lo cual de nuevo apela a la nostalgia y nos dan a entender que el entrenamiento final de Obi-Wan está por empezar.

3- Guiños o easter eggs a otros contenidos de la Saga. Desde un clon interpretado por Temuera Morrison, hasta lo que solo podemos suponer que son los inicios de la Alianza Rebelde. Pero sin duda mi "Easter egg" favorito es el "Hello there" con el que Obi-Wan saluda al pequeño Luke Skywalker.
4- La pelea entre Vader y Obi-Wan en el capítulo final, como ya mencioné anteriormente es una escena completamente emotiva y cargada de nostalgia, mi parte favorita es cuando Anakin libera por fin a Obi-Wan de la culpa de haberlo "convertido" en Vader.
1- Reva, creo que le dieron demasiada relevancia sin razón alguna, aun con el giro que le dieron al personaje la forma en la que lo desarrollaron fue poco interesante y ni hablar de la escena final en Tatooine, un completo desastre.
2- El diseño del Gran Inquisidor, habiéndolo visto en Rebels honestamente quedé bastante decepcionada con la representación del personaje en esta serie, parecía un cosplay mal logrado.
3- No explotan el potencial completo del personaje, creo que pudieron hacer una historia más entretenida ya que en ciertos puntos el ritmo se torna un poco lento sobre todo en los primeros episodios. Entiendo que al principio de la serie se encuentra encubierto y fuera de forma pero tarda demasiado en volver a retomar su antigua fuerza.
Se que a muchos fans "les quedó a deber", sin embargo, como producto completo me gustó, quizás porque apeló mucho a la nostalgia o simplemente porque se trató de Obi-Wan, se que disfrutaré mucho el volverla a ver o ver una posible segunda temporada.
