(Review)
The kingdom of the little bear was expelled from paradise where the unicorns now lead. The bears want to return to its utopia and for this, they decide to train with armies and thus, manage to confront that enemy that they consider demons since they, knowing God, believe they are superior. Within these formations, we have our protagonists who are two brothers (Azulin and Gordi) where one is the representation of the lowest of humanity and the other, goodness personified.
El reino del osito fue expulsado del paraíso donde ahora lideran los unicornios. Los ositos quieren regresar a su utopía y para esto, deciden entrenarse con ejércitos y así, lograr enfrentar a aquel enemigo que consideran demonios ya que ellos, al conocer a Dios, se creen superiores. Dentro de estas formaciones, tenemos a nuestros protagonistas que son dos hermanos (Azulin y Gordi) donde uno es la representación de lo mas bajo de la humanidad y el otro, la bondad personificada.
La guerra contra los unicornios para traer de vuelta a Dios y el paraíso esta por comenzar.
Unicorn Wars is a film that may look innocent but don't be fooled by Azulin's cute little face on the banner.
Turbid, full of metaphors, religion, war conflicts from time immemorial, massacres, madness and everything dark you can imagine, this Spanish production has it all.
It is not easy to watch or digest, the messages are blunt and sharp, the film is full of them that although they are cliché, they are approached in an original way by representing their characters with adorable bears (the being who believes he is superior to the rest because of his religion), apes, unicorns among others that each one is put in the place where he has to be.
Guerra de unicornios es una película que puede parecer inocente pero no te dejes engañar por la hermosa carita de Azulin en el banner.
Turbia, repleta de metáforas, religión ,conflictos bélicos desde tiempos inmemorables, masacres, locura y todo lo oscuro que te puedas imaginar, esta producción española lo tiene.
No es fácil de ver ni digerir, los mensajes son contundentes y tajantes, la película esta repleta de ellos que aunque son cliché, se abordan de una forma original al representar a sus personajes con adorables ositos (El ser que se cree superior al resto por su religión) , simios , unicornios entre otros que cada uno esta puesto en el lugar donde tiene que estar.
Tender and adorable characters that are consumed by feelings such as hatred, envy, greed, extreme fascism, religious fanaticism, losing their humanity.
A clever proposal decorating everything with vibrant colours but the real colour of it all is the darkest and most morbid you can imagine.
It is quite original in the way it was created, leaving you at the end with a very deep reflection on what human nature really is.
Personajes tiernos y adorables que se van consumiendo por sentimientos como el odio, la envidia, la codicia, el fascismo extremo, el fanatismo religioso , perdiendo así, su humanidad.
Una propuesta inteligente decorando todo de colores vibrantes pero el verdadero color de todo, es el mas oscuro y mórbido que puedas imaginarte.
Es bastante original de la forma en que fue creada dejándote al final, una reflexión muy profunda sobre lo que la naturaleza humana en verdad es.
The film is based on an animated short called "Unicorn blood" and the truth is, I loved how they made their feature film keeping the original brothers (although with changes) and giving them a story although the message is the same but in a more macabre way as the character of Azulin is a born sociopath who only wants to destroy everything around him. Gordi and Azulin, representing malice and goodness in a masterful way.
I totally recommend it even though it is quite strong. I give it a 10/10. Thanks for reading.
La película esta basada en un corto animado llamado "Sangre de unicornio" y la verdad, que me encantó como hicieron su largometraje conservando a los hermanos originales (Aunque con cambios) y darles una historia aunque el mensaje, es el mismo solo que de una forma mas macabra ya el personaje de Azulin es un sociópata de nacimiento que solo quiere destruir todo a su alrededor. Gordi y Azulin, representando la malicia y la bondad de forma magistral.
La recomiendo totalmente aunque es bastante fuerte. Le doy un 10/10. Gracias por leerme.
