Analysis of the movie "Chldren of man."

Friends, this morning I woke up at 2 a.m. and I was just about to start this movie that I saw years ago without paying much attention to it, but, when I saw it at dawn, alone and without any distraction I could understand many things about it and I started to reflect on the fact that despite being a fictional world, it reflects what humanity would become if one day, children would stop being born.

This ambitious film was released in 2006. Directed and written by Alfonso Cuarón, a Mexican who really made our hair stand on end and made us think. It had a cast with incredible actors like Clive Owen or the great Julianne Moore and is set in a post-modern era with a planet that is one step away from destruction and madness abounds in the streets, only London maintains a partial stability and is flooded by illegal immigrants, criminals, extremists and terrorist groups fighting for the rights of these immigrants.

The film begins with the argument that almost 18 years ago the last baby was born, since then women for some strange reason became infertile and because of this, humanity began a decline that slowly transformed the planet into a hostile place full of war where only England prevails with a controlled calm that nobody knows how long it will last but is being overflowed by waves of refugees fleeing from all these massacres already senseless. Something that in the real world, already happens because people from many countries hit by their hyperinflations, wars or extremely strong changes, are constantly trying to enter both England and other European countries that are more stable and although not as pronounced and strong as in the film, they are also persecuted and hunted by the government.

The breaking point begins when the youngest human on the planet, already about 18 years old, is killed by a bomb that was supposedly planted by the terrorist group known as "the fish" and this triggers an increase in mass madness. We can notice a very gray tone in this film since from the first moment we notice such dark and real variants of people, which give so much life to this film whose development becomes darker and darker. The presentation of different secondary characters that show how much things have changed in the world, show that death is something already frequent and that really no place is safe anymore; they bathe the plot with despair and hope, showing the death of Julia by the hands of bandits who turned out to be men of the same terrorist group to later show us that Khee (an illegal immigrant) is the bearer of the first baby to be born in this world for many years. The death of the protagonists and secondary characters are presented in a more visceral and raw way. Even the visit to the abandoned school is such a stark reminder that there are no more children in the world and the very entrance to the city of the immigrants where they pick out some of the arrivals and separate them from the rest and then execute them to decrease the illegal immigrant population.

The very birth of the baby that gave birth to the new hopes of humanity was bathed in blood, death and what some are willing to sacrifice to get what they want? It is one raw and violent scene after another, a moment of light accompanied by pain and death. The ending of this movie is the living proof of reality, as you never get what you want without losing other things along the way. Since after going through so many adversities and losing so many good people on the way, they managed to get on the vote that would take them to the "Human Project" and to be helped, my heart broke a little when I saw the blood running down Theo's stomach... And knowing that now they would be alone against destiny and the uncertain future.

Análisis de la pelicula "Hijos del hombre"

Amigos esta madrugada me desperté a las 2 de la madrugada y justo iba a comenzar esta película que hace años vi sin prestarle tanta atención, pero, al verla de madrugada, solo y sin ninguna distracción pude entender muchas cosas de ella y me puse a reflexionar sobre que pese a ser un mundo de ficción, refleja en lo que se convertiría la humanidad si un día, los niños dejaran de nacer.

Esta ambiciosa película fue estrenada el 2006. Dirigida y escrita por Alfonso Cuarón, un mexicano que de verdad nos puso los pelos de punta y a reflexionar. Tuvo un elenco con increíbles actores como Clive Owen o la gran Julianne Moore y está ambientada en una época post-moderna con un planeta que se encuentra a un paso de la destrucción y la locura abunda en las calles, solo Londres mantiene una parcial estabilidad y es inundada por los inmigrantes ilegales, los delincuentes, extremistas y grupos terroristas que luchan por los derechos de esos inmigrantes.

La película comienza con el argumento de que hace casi 18 años nació el ultimo bebé, desde entonces las mujeres por alguna extraña razón se volvieron infértiles y debido a esto, la humanidad comenzó en un declive que lentamente transformo al planeta en un sitio hostil y lleno de guerra donde solo Inglaterra prevalece con una controlada calma que nadie sabe cuanto va a durar pero que esta siendo desbordada por oleadas de refugiados que huyen de todas estas masacres ya sin sentido. Algo que en el mundo real, ya sucede debido a que personas de muchos países golpeados por sus hiperinflaciones, guerras o cambios extremadamente fuertes, tratan constantemente de entrar tanto en Inglaterra como en otros países europeos que se encuentran mas estables y aunque no de manera tan pronunciada y fuerte como en la película, también son perseguidos y cazados por el gobierno.

El punto de quiebre comienza cuando el humano mas joven del planeta, de ya unos 18 años de edad, muere por una bomba que supuestamente fue puesta por el grupo terrorista conocido como “los peces” y esto desencadena un incremento en la locura de las masas. Podemos notar una tonalidad muy gris en esta película ya que desde el primer instante notamos unas variantes tan oscuras y tan reales de las personas, que le dan tanta vida a esta cinta cuyo desarrollo se va volviendo mas y mas oscuro. La presentación de diferentes personajes secundarios que muestran lo mucho que han cambiado las cosas en el mundo, muestran que la muerte es algo ya frecuente y que realmente ya ningún lugar es seguro; bañan la trama con desesperación y esperanza, mostrando la muerte de Julia por manos de bandidos que resultaron ser hombres de su mismo grupo terrorista para después enseñarnos que Khee(una inmigrante ilegal) es la portadora del primer bebé que nacera en este mundo desde hacia muchos años. La muerte de los protagonistas y personajes secundarios se presentan de una forma mas visceral y cruda. Incluso la visita a la escuela abandonada es un recuerdo tan crudo de que ya no hay niños en el mundo y la sola entrada a la ciudad de los inmigrantes donde escogen a algunos de los que llegan y los separan del resto para luego ejecutarlos y asi disminuir la población de inmigrantes ilegales.

El mismo nacimiento de la bebé que daba cabida a las nuevas esperanzas de la humanidad fue bañado en sangre, muerte y en lo que están dispuestos a sacrificar algunos por obtener lo que quieren... Es una escena cruda y violenta tras otra, un momento de luz acompañado por dolor y muerte. El final de esta película es la viva muestra de la realidad, ya que nunca obtienes lo que quieres sin perder otras cosas en el camino. Ya que después de haber pasado tantas adversidades y perder a tantas buenas personas en el camino, lograron subir al vote que los llevaría al “Proyecto Humano” y poder ser ayudados, mi corazón ser rompió un poco al ver la sangre correr por el estomago de Theo… Y saber que ahora estarían solas contra el destino y el futuro incierto.

Amigos por hoy es todo, solo puedo desearles una feliz noche y decirles que si quieren ver una película fascinante y al mismo tiempo tan completa, les recomiendo esta.
