With this post I participate in the OCD Contest titled OCD Community Boost Contest # 5: Highlighting Movies & TV Shows trying to choose three films that have left an indelible memory in my memory. They are passionate about cinema and the choice has not been easy.
It is not by chance that cinema is called the seventh art.
Trying to delve into the innermost meanders of my memory, I have selected these films.
I do not have a predilection for a film genre in general but for the performances, pure and genuine acting performances without too many special effects.
Where the actor shows what he is really worth.
Con este post participo en el Contest de OCD titulado OCD Community Boost Contest #5: Highlighting Movies & TV Shows tratando de elegir tres películas que hayan dejado un recuerdo imborrable en mi memoria. Son un apasionado del cine y la elección no ha sido fácil.
No por casualidad el cine es llamado el séptimo arte.
Tratando de hurguear en los meandros más recónditos de mi memoria he seleccionado estas películas.
No tengo predilección por un género cinematográfico en general sino por las actuaciones, interpretaciones actoral puras y genuinas sin demasiados efectos especiales.
Donde el actor muestra lo que verdaderamente vale.
1st place / 1er puesto.
Scarecrow / Espantapájaros.
The figure of the scarecrow in the cinema has generally had nothing sympathetic or comical. On the contrary, it has been a frequent theme in the plot of so-called "horror" films.
Irony, disenchantment, bitterness and a remote hope are the distinctive characteristics of the characters magnificently played by Gene Hackman and Al Pacino.
Pertence to the latter a huge phrase in all its irony and bitterness when referring to the son/daughter he/she doesn't know:
"I have a son or a daughter in Detroit. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Just in case, I bought him or her a lamp. That's fine either way ".
Scarecrow (The Scarecrow in its original version in English) is a film of 1973, was Jerry Schatzberg and is one of the first in the acting career of the great Alpcina. More precisely it is the fourth.
It won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the plot of the film is the barely contained violence, repressed rage and disenchantment embodied by two characters who are as different as the same society they represent.
A film that, over the years, has become a cult work for lovers of good cinema.
La figura del espantapájaros en el cine generalmente no ha tenido nada de simpático o cómico. Al contrario ha sido tema frecuente en el argumento de las llamadas películas del genero "horror".
Ironía, desencanto, amargura y una remota esperanza son las características distintivas de los personajes magníficamente interpretados por Gene Hackman y Al Pacino.
Pertenece a éste una frase descomunal en toda su ironía y amargura al referirse al hijo/a que no conoce:
"Tengo una hijo o una hija en Detroit. No sé si es varón o mujer. Por las dudas le compré una lámpara. Asì va bien en cualesquiera de los dos casos"
Espantapájaros (The Scarecrow en su versión original en inglés) es una película del año 1973, fue Jerry Schatzberg y es una de las primeras en la carrera actoral del gran Alpcina. Más precisamente es la cuarta.
Ganó la Palma de Oro del festival de Cannes y el argumento de la película es la violencia a duras penas contenida, la rabia reprimida y el desencanto encarnados por dos personajes que son tan distintos como la misma sociedad que representan.
Una película que, con el pasar de los años, se fue transformando en una obra de culto para los amantes del buen cine.

Translated also literally in spanish as El Hombre de la Lluvia, it is also one of those movies with an immense Dustin Hoffman and a Tom Cruise who does not lose his dignity at his side.
Dustin Hoffman plays a young man with autism syndrome and it is really hard to separate fact from fiction. It seems that Hoffman does indeed suffer from autism.
When talking about making a role believable, I think that this movie should be referenced.
Tom Cruise must only accompany him. And he does it quite decently.
Those who have been close to a person with autism will be able to appreciate the excellence of this interpretation. Majestic without overdoing it in snobbery or soap opera tears.
It was on the same level as My Left Foot, another film of similar characteristics with a spectacular Daniel Day-Lewis in the role of a young teraplegic, painter, poet and writer forced to an almost total immobility due to cerebral palsy.
Traducida también literalmente en español como el Hombre de la Lluvia es también una película de aquellas con un inmenso Dustin Hoffman y un Tom Cruise que dignamente no desentona a su lado.
Dustin Hoffman hace el papel de un joven con el sindrome de autismo y verdaderamente es difícil separar la realidad de la ficción. Pareciera que efectivamente Hoffman sufriera de autismo.
Cuando se habla de hacer creíble un papel creo que obligatoriamente se debería hacer referencia a esta película.
Tom Cruise debe solo acompañarlo. Y lo hace con bastante decoro.
Aquellos que hayan tenido de cerca una persona con autismo podrán valorar la excelencia de esta interpretación. Majestuoso sin exagerar en el esnobismo o las lágrimas de telenovela.
Se sitía en el mismo nivel de Mi pie izquierdo (My Left Foot) otra películo de características similares con un Daniel Day-Lewis espectacular en el papel de un joven terapléjico, pintor, poeta y escritor obligado a una inbmovilidad casi total a causa de una parálisis cerebral.
3er Puesto / 3rd place.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nes / Atrapado sin salida (Alguien voló sobre el nido del cucú).
It's hard for me to say that this film occupies the last step of the podium. It is difficult to make a selection. It's one of the best movies I've ever seen. With a Jack Nicholson out of the ordinary.
A truly harrowing film directed by a Milos Forman at the height of his career as a filmmaker and with Jack Nicholson taking his histrionics to the max.
The female part is reserved for Louise Fletcher and her role as a psychiatric clinic nurse is undoubtedly one of the best I have ever seen. Psychopathic, ruthless, cynical to the limit of the unimaginable.
At a time when criticism of the U.S. health care system was in its infancy, the film, adapted to Nicholson's histrionic character, was considered the milestone in arguments about the treatment of patients in specialized clinics.
The soundtrack is a mixture of sadness and melancholy that is difficult to explain. It cannot be explained in words. You have to listen to it. A

Me cuesta decir que esta película ocupe el último escalón del podio. Es difícil hacer una selección. Es una de las mejores películas que haya visto. Con un Jack Nicholson fuera de lo normal.
Una película verdaderamente estremecedora dirigida por un Milos Forman en el auge de su carrera como director de cine y con un Jack Nicholson que lleva su histrionismo al máximo.
La parte femenina está reservada a Louise Fletcher y su papel de enfermera de la clínica psiquiátrica en sin lugar a dudas uno de los mejores que le haya visto. Psicopata, despiadada, cínica al límite de lo inimaginable.
En un momentos en que las críticas hacia el sistema sanitario de los EE. UU. estaban en sus comienzos la película, adaptada al carácter histriónico de Nicholson, fue considerada como la piedra miliar en los argumentos referidos al tratamiento de los pacientes en las clínicas especializadas.
La columna sonora es una mezcla de tristeza y melancolía difícil de explicar. No se puede explicar con palabras. Hay que escucharla. A
No por casualidad su autor, Jack Nitzsche, ganó el Oscar por ella. Consta de dos partes: una de apertura al inicio de la película y la otra al cierre de la misma. No se cual quedarme.
