Hello everyone!
After 5 months have passed since showing in cinemas in Indonesia, finally the film 'Teka Teki Tika' arrived at Disney Hotstar a few days ago. I had planned to watch it in the cinema because the director of this film is one of my favorite directors who has created several successful films such as Cek Toko Sebelah, Ngenes, Imperfect, and Susah Signal.
These 4 films made by Ernest Prakasa succeeded in making me laugh throughout their star-studded film from Standup Comedy. So the Ernest Prakasa film is a must watch if it airs in cinemas.
However, after the film was shown in theaters, I tried to dig up some information about this film to be curious, but my expectations were reduced after watching some film reviews and decided not to watch and chose to wait for this film to be shown on a pay-TV platform. After patiently waiting for 5 months, this film finally aired and became a film that accompanies me on the sidelines of relaxing after Eid al-Fitr is over.
Today I spent 1 hour and 15 minutes watching this film because of my high curiosity due to a film review which stated that this film was very disappointing with a storyline that could have been further developed, even though this film could have been made longer in duration to create intrigue. this film is built better.
Many empty plots are created as a result of taking too long to build a character from a completely absurd cast. For example, in the role of Tika, whose presence is not very clear, Tika, who should be a mysterious person, actually becomes a helper in the family within 3 days. And also the role of Budi who is told to be so naive with his suffering after Tika's presence comes to his family who recognizes himself as the child of another woman.
I started to feel bored in the middle of the journey of this film, starting when Tika helped Laura who was giving birth at home suddenly due to heavy contractions. It was too naive when a rich daughter-in-law gave birth in a luxurious house that was not taken to the hospital even though it seemed that the house was not far from the city, in fact Laura was helped to give birth at home without such safety, with makeshift equipment, the baby was born and survived. Especially when at the end of the film, we know that Tika is a private agent who goes undercover to uncover corruption cases, at that time I felt very relatable to this story and I was forced to continue this film because it was half way through.
Then the story really annoyed me with the forced and too rushed ending. Even though the story could have been more interesting if the conclusion from the storyline of this film was packaged to further explore the figure of Pak Budiman who is a very dirty contractor. Pak Budiman is easily swayed by a woman named Tika who lives temporarily in the luxurious house and is depressed because of all the words Tika has said so that he admits all his crimes. Here, we can imagine how funny it is that a high-profile Corruptor begins to submit to a woman who doesn't know where she came from and admits her actions, it doesn't make any sense at all.
Even though at the end of the story I really guessed some stories, I liked the fact that the child Laura was carrying was the child of her husband's younger brother which was an astonishing twist plot. I burst out laughing when I found out that her husband was barren and that it was his sister who got his sister-in-law pregnant which their maid found out. And this was stated by his girlfriend Andre when the child was born and he said that his son looked more like Andre than Arnold.
Then the film was finished and closed by the story of Tika who had completed the mission and ran away with the money she took from the rich family, then the money was given to the orphanage where it used to be deposited.
