Movie Review: Trainspotting - Heroin seen through the eyes of drug addicts.

Choose life, Choose a job, Choose a career and Choose a family, they just say no to that, they seek their refuge in drugs to spend their crazy days, where they all go falling further down during the whole movie, Renton being the one who wants to get out but some circumstance always happens so he comes back. It is a movie also very focused on those young adults of the 90's who spent their adolescence with punk and that they would be rock stars but no, the sad reality is not so, you will have a boring life, you will buy the giant TV after spending several months of your life working, you will have a boring wife and you will beget some heirs as idiots as you, and so they make fun of the common people, while they end up doing something worse, because let's be clear, what does heroin do? It just makes you broke and want more heroin.

Elige la vida, elige un trabajo, elige una carrera y elige una familia, ellos simplemente le dicen no a eso, buscan su refugio en las drogas para pasar sus días de locos, en donde todos van cayendo más abajo durante toda la película, Siendo Renton el que se quiere salir pero siempre ocurre alguna circunstancia por la que vuelve. Es una película muy enfocada también a esos adultos jóvenes de los 90 que pasaron su adolescencia con el punk y de que serian estrellas de rock pero no, la triste realidad que no es así, tendrás una vida aburrida, compraras el televisor gigante luego de pasar varios meses de tu vida trabajando, tendrás una esposa aburrida y engendraras unos herederos tan idiotas como tú, y así se burlan de las personas comunes, mientras ellos terminan haciendo algo peor, porque seamos claros, ¿qué hace la heroína? Solo te hace estar quebrado y querer más heroína.

Mark Renton, Despite being the one who injects the most drugs in the movie, he turns out to be one of the most coherent and intelligent characters here, besides being the narrator in many occasions throughout the movie, maybe because the movie revolves around him but he is just another junkie, a constant trajectory of bad decisions that walks on his feet.

Mark Renton, A pesar de ser el que se inyecta mas drogas en la película, resulta ser uno de los personajes más coherentes e inteligentes aquí, además de ser el narrador en muchas ocaciones a lo largo de la película, tal vez porque la película gira en torno a el pero él es solo otro junky mas, una constante trayectoria de malas decisiones que anda de pie.

Sick Boy, another junkie who is at the same time coherent, and at first sight doesn't even look like a junkie, he dresses very well and in several scenes of the movie he wears an elegant suit, where he explains that he is a classy junkie, something you don't see every day, besides being an artist and knowing many things about culture, his character is very unique, too much creativity to create this junky who loves to be always neat.

Sick Boy, otro drogadicto mas que es a la vez coherente, y a simple vista ni parece drogadicto, se viste muy bien y en varias escenas de la peli se viste con un traje elegante, en donde explica que es un drogadicto con clase, algo que no se ve todos los días, además de ser artista y saber muchas cosas de cultura, su personaje es muy único, demasiada creatividad al crear este junky que le encanta andar siempre pulcro.

Spud, the noblest of all but he's too dumb, yes I know, the movie deals with very hard topics and one of the most addictive drugs of all, but he has his funny moments, and most of them are thanks to him, I love this character, he's the typical dumb friend you have in your group of friends but he wouldn't hesitate twice to tell you the truth of everything.

Spud, el más noble de todos pero es demasiado tonto, si lo sé, la película trata de temas muy duros y una de las drogas más adictivas de todas, pero tiene sus momentos divertidos, y la mayoría de ellos son gracias a él, amo este personaje, es el típico amigo tonto que tienes en tu grupo de amigos pero no dudaría dos veces en decirte la verdad de todo.

Begbie, the alcoholic addicted to violence, although he doesn't use heroin he has an overly powerful energy with which problems always occur because of his guilt, plus that is attributed to the fact that he is bisexual and hides his gay side with his over the top manhood, despite all that he is very over protective of his group.

Begbie, el alcohólico adicto a la violencia, aunque no consume heroína tiene una energía demasiado potente con la que siempre ocurren problemas a causa de su culpa, además de que eso según se atribuye a que es bisexual y oculta su lado gay con su hombría desmedida, a pesar de todo eso es muy sobre protector con su grupo.

Tommy, the sporty good guy of that group of friends, he doesn't do drugs, he doesn't look like a drug addict because he is not and he has his girlfriend, he is the one who follows everyone and accompanies them everywhere, the others in the group try to protect him and make him stay away from drugs, well at least at the beginning.

Tommy, el deportista chico bueno de ese grupo de amigo, ni se droga, no parece drogadicto porque no lo es y tiene a su novia, es el que sigue a todos y los acompaña a todos lados, los demás del grupo lo tratan de proteger y hacer que no se acerque a las drogas, bueno por lo menos al inicio.

Well the term is a simple practice, observe how trains cross the horizon in the distance, commonly its meaning consists of referring to an activity that has no sense, so the author of the book makes an analogy to imply that Heroin has no sense to consume it, only for the one who consumes it, nothing else haha.

Bueno el termino es una práctica sencilla, observar como los trenes atraviesan el horizonte a la distancia, comúnmente su significado consta de referirse a una actividad que no tiene sentido, asi el autor del libro hace una analogía para dar a entender que la Heroína no tiene ningún sentido consumirla, solamente para el que la consume nada mas jaja.

In this film deals with drug addiction like no other has done, despite being very playful with these issues and even being idolized by their characters, do not be fooled, it is the worst decision you can make in life, even the actor Ewan McGregor who plays Renton wanted to inject heroin in real life to better play his character, which the director of this told him no flatly, an actor wanting to commit 100% to his character but however cute his intentions are, just no and that's it.

En esta película trata la drogadicción como ninguna otra lo ha hecho, a pesar de ser muy juguetona con estos temas en incluso siendo idolatrada por sus personajes, que no te dejen engañar, es la peor decisión que puedes tomar en la vida, incluso el Actor Ewan McGregor que interpreta a Renton quiso inyectarse heroína en la vida real para interpretar mejor a su personaje, cosa que el director de esta le dijo que no rotundamente, un actor queriéndose comprometer 100% a su personaje pero por muy lindas que sean sus intensiones, simplemente no y ya.

In this film they go from comedy to tragedy as if changing jackets, there are very funny moments as Renton goes to have sex with a minor at her parents' house and the next day he has to have breakfast with those parents, at a time when they have no money and steal televisions from an old people's home, in a job interview they all go stoned and give incredibly energetic presentations to the representatives of that job, or in that moment when Renton is going through a period of detoxification and in one of his withdrawal attacks he buys opium pills from a guy (who is a cameo to the writer of the book) and puts them up his rectum, thus giving one of the most disgusting and interesting scenes of him swimming in a toilet.

En esta película pasan de la comedia a la tragedia como si cambiarse de chaqueta se tratase, hay momentos muy divertidos como los cuales Renton se va a tener relaciones sexuales con una menor en casa de los padres de ella y al otro día le toca desayunar con esos padres, en un momento donde no tienen dinero y roban los televisores de un asilo de ancianos, en una entrevista de trabajo todos van drogados y dan presentaciones increíblemente energéticas a los representantes de ese trabajo, o en aquel momento que Renton está pasando por un periodo de desintoxicación y en uno de sus ataques de abstinencia le compra pastillas de opio a un tipo (que es un cameo a el escritor del libro) y se las mete por el recto, dando así a una de las escenas más asquerosas e interesantes del metiéndose a nadar en un escusado.

They are heroin addicts, they are drug addicts, junkies, they chose not to live life, they chose to destroy it with their own hands in order to get the maximum juice out of all their temporary emotions thanks to heroin, that's exactly the vibe these characters give you, especially Renton, achieving a super splendid job, no wonder this movie is in the eleventh place of independent movies that have grossed the most money.

Son unos heroinómanos, son unos drogadictos, unos tontos junkys, escogieron no vivir la vida, escogieron destruirla con sus propias manos con el fin de sacarle el máximo jugo a todas sus emociones temporales gracias a la heroína, es exactamente la vibra que te dan estos personajes, en especial Renton, logrando un trabajo súper esplendido, que por nada esta película está en el onceavo lugar de las películas independientes que más dinero han recaudado.

Apart from the fact that Ewan McGregor wanted to try heroin and his request was denied for being very stupid, he had to learn to cook it, which he does a lot of times, being very real looking, besides losing a lot of weight for this movie, total determination, plus they were all congratulated by the same writer of the book for doing a very faithful performance to what he had in mind when he wrote the book, a wonderful job by people who had acted in few movies or none at all.

Obviando de lado de que Ewan McGregor quiso probar la heroína y su petición fue negada por ser muy estúpida, si tuvo que aprender a cocinarla, cosa que lo hace una gran cantidad de veces, siendo esta de una apariencia muy real, además de perder mucho peso para esta película, total determinación, además de que todos ellos fueron felicitados por el mismo escritor del libro por hacer una actuación muy fiel a lo que tenía en mente cuando escribió el libro, un trabajo maravilloso por personas que habían actuado en pocas películas o ninguna.
