Ovil is the teenage son of an Indian drug lord who was kidnapped by his Bangladeshi nemesis over some...friendly competition, to put it mildly.
The movie centres around Tyler Rake played by Chris Hemsworth or as I call him, the Thor dude and how he connects with Ovil, the kidnappee he was contracted to extract. Over the course of the movie, the two form a strong bond and they become best of friends; so friendly that Tyler was willing to sacrifice his old war buddy.
The movie starts with Tyler bleeding out after getting shot on some unknown bridge that you would know more about later in the movie.
He was employed to rescue the Son of an Indian drug lord who got kidnapped by a Bangladeshi druglord, probably over turf war or something like that. From one betrayal to another, the situation leads to a John Wick level bloodbath that spread across the streets and slums of Bangladesh.
It was a movie I thoroughly enjoyed watching, particularly because I didn't care much for dialogues and storyline. Virtually from the start to finish, it was ass-kicking, carnage, multiple levels of badassery and God bless the camera angles that really gave an immersive experience.
Even though there wasn't much to the storyline, there are also subtle things that were chipped into the movie that improved the flavour. Take the emotional background of Sanju, an Indian ex-special forces assigned to steal the kid back from the contractors paid to rescue him. For fear of posting spoilers, I'll not give further details about it but there's generally stuff like that nuanced into the characters lives.
It is a pretty dope movie, with an Imdb rating of 6.8, but to me, it is a solid 8/10 because of that scene where Tyler Rake did that John Wick thing where he pins his opponent down and then reloads his cartridge. I could watch this movie all day.
