Saludos, amigos de Movies and TV Shows. Hoy les traigo una reseña bastante interesante sobre la película “El club de los poetas muertos”. Espero que puedan disfrutarla mucho.

Una de las cosas que más le agradezco a la tecnología es la oportunidad de poder rememorar aquellas historias cinematográficas que marcaron una parte especial en nuestra vida o, como lo es en mi caso con esta película, tener la oportunidad de verlas a pesar del tiempo que ya haya pasado desde que se estrenaron en la gran pantalla.
"¡Oh capitán, mi capitán!"
Bajo los cimientos de “tradición, honor, disciplina y excelencia” la academia Welton abre sus puertas a una fascinante historia en la que un grupo de estudiantes de alto índice académico desarrollan una conexión especial con uno de sus profesores quien, no solo les enseñará sobre una determinada materia, sino que también los llevará a descubrir lo que es la verdadera grandeza de la enseñanza para la vida.
Es así como conocemos a John Keating (Robin Williams), un profesor de literatura graduado en esa misma institución quien junto a un grupo de excelsos estudiantes nos mostraran el aprecio hacia el arte de la poesía y con esto, nos llevarán por una interesante historia que nos sumergirá a esa época y etapa de la vida en la que deseamos comernos el mundo y en la que estamos dispuestos a luchar por alcanzar nuestras metas y nuestros sueños.
One of the things I am most grateful to technology is the opportunity to be able to recall those cinematic stories that marked a special part of our lives or, as it is in my case with this film, to have the opportunity to watch them despite the time that has already passed since they were released on the big screen.
"Oh Captain, My Captain!"
Under the foundations of "tradition, honor, discipline and excellence" Welton Academy opens its doors to a fascinating story in which a group of students of high academic index develop a special connection with one of their teachers who, not only will teach them about a certain subject, but will also lead them to discover what is the true greatness of teaching for life.
This is how we meet John Keating (Robin Williams), a literature professor graduated from the same institution who, along with a group of excellent students, will show us the appreciation for the art of poetry and with this, will take us through an interesting story that will immerse us in that time and stage of life in which we want to eat the world and in which we are willing to fight to achieve our goals and our dreams.
La preparatoria Welton, la cual es exclusivamente para varones, acoge a estudiantes de un alto potencial académico entre los que encontramos a Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard), Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), Knox Overstreet (Josh Charles) y Charlie Dalton (Gale Hansen) quienes impulsados por la manera tan singular y especial del profesor Keating para expresar el verdadero sentido de la literatura y la poesía, deciden abrir nuevamente un antiguo pero especial grupo llamado “la sociedad de los poetas muertos” el cual será el lugar donde empezarán a desplegar sus verdaderos dotes a la vez que también descubrirán sus talentos para el arte y la escritura.
Es muy fácil ver esta película y trasladarte a esos años de secundaria en donde la adrenalina y el deseo de querer llevarnos todo por delante es algo que parece correr por las venas. También nos revela interesantes detalles de esas instituciones, sus extremas reglas de conducta y disciplina así como de igual forma los lineamientos de enseñanza que para aquellos tiempos eran bastantes complejos y por nada flexibles.
Welton High School, which is exclusively for boys, welcomes students of high academic potential among which we find Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard), Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), Knox Overstreet (Josh Charles) and Charlie Dalton (Gale Hansen) who driven by the unique and special way of Professor Keating to express the true meaning of literature and poetry, they decide to reopen an old but special group called "Dead Poets Society" which will be the place where they will begin to display their true gifts while also discovering their talents for art and writing.
It is very easy to watch this film and be transported back to those high school years where adrenaline and the desire to want to take everything by storm is something that seems to run through the veins. It also reveals interesting details of those institutions, their extreme rules of conduct and discipline as well as the teaching guidelines that for those times were quite complex and not at all flexible.
Al mirar esta película es imposible para mí no sentir nostalgia, ya que yo también estudié en un colegio donde al principio éramos solo varones, y otra similitud fue que mi gusto por la poesía igualmente empezó en mis años de secundaria, y en cuanto a esa conexión entre alumno y maestro fue muy determinante para mí para que desde muy joven me gustara el idioma del inglés.
Precisamente uno de los temas principales de esta maravillosa película es la conexión especial que se transmite entre maestro-alumno, una química digna de destacar ya que por el lado del profesor Keating sobresale ese principio de no solo resaltar lo que enseñas sino también como lo enseñas, un principio determinante en el arte de la enseñanza. De hecho considero que aún en nuestros tiempos, esta es esa clase de películas que deberían ver maestros y alumnos juntos pues se desprenden muchos valores que pueden elevar muchísimo más los patrones educativos.
When watching this film it is impossible for me not to feel nostalgic, since I also studied in a school where at the beginning we were only boys, and another similarity was that my taste for poetry also began in my high school years, and as for that connection between student and teacher was very decisive for me to like the English language from a very young age.
Precisely one of the main themes of this wonderful film is the special connection that is transmitted between teacher-student, a chemistry worthy of note since on the side of Professor Keating stands out that principle of not only highlighting what you teach but also how you teach it, a determining principle in the art of teaching. In fact, I believe that even in our times, this is the kind of film that teachers and students should watch together, because it brings out many values that can raise educational standards even higher.
Otro de los aspectos que se muestra en escena es el control de los padres en cuanto a los estudios de los hijos, llegando al punto de ser ellos quienes deciden la mejor carrera para sus hijos sin importar lo que puedan opinar ellos o decir sobre lo que realmente desean. Incluso destaca esos casos en los que los sueños de los estudiantes son truncados por los mismos representantes que terminan asumiendo que son solo ellos los únicos capacitados para decir que es lo mejor para sus hijos.
La entrega de Robin Williams en su papel de profesor de literatura encaja perfectamente, ya que se siente ese interés y esa entrega que todo educador debe manifestar hacia sus alumnos a fin de despertar la motivación correcta de querer y amar lo que están aprendiendo. No se deja bajo relieve el hecho de que, hasta los jóvenes con aparente rebeldía o apatía sobre alguna materia, se les pueda ayudar hasta llevarlos al punto de disfrutar el momento mientras se van llenando de conocimiento.
Another aspect that is shown in the scene is the control of parents in terms of their children's studies, to the point of being the ones who decide the best career for their children regardless of what they may think or say about what they really want. He even highlights those cases in which the dreams of the students are truncated by the same representatives who end up assuming that they are the only ones qualified to say what is best for their children.
Robin Williams' delivery in his role as a literature teacher fits perfectly, as one feels that interest and that delivery that every educator must manifest towards his students in order to awaken the right motivation to want and love what they are learning. The fact that even young people with apparent rebelliousness or apathy about any subject, can be helped to the point of enjoying the moment while they fill themselves with knowledge, is not left unnoticed.
“No se trata de llegar a un alto rendimiento a través de normas extremadamente rígidas, se trata de principios que sean flexibles y faciliten la adaptación de los estudiantes a un camino que los llevará a decidir lo que quieren ser en la vida”. Eso es lo que percibo con respecto a esos patrones que se marcan en la película con respecto a la institución, y como a veces estas llamadas leyes de conductas parecen ser inventadas pensando más en el nombre de la entidad que en el prestigio de los estudiantes.
Se destaca el compañerismo y la fraternidad que se puede formar dentro de un aula de clases, esas amistades que suelen ser nuestro apoyo y nuestra ancla ante las adversidades que se puedan presentar dentro o fuera del instituto. También se muestra un grado de lealtad digno de encomio en base a códigos no escritos que dejan al descubierto la empatía y el cariño que llegamos a sentir por nuestros compañeros de clases.
"It is not about reaching high performance through extremely rigid rules, it is about principles that are flexible and facilitate the adaptation of students to a path that will lead them to decide what they want to be in life." That is what I perceive with respect to those patterns that are marked in the film with respect to the institution, and how sometimes these so-called laws of conduct seem to be invented thinking more about the name of the entity than the prestige of the students.
It highlights the fellowship and fraternity that can be formed within a classroom, those friendships that tend to be our support and our anchor in the face of adversities that may arise inside or outside the institute. It also shows a commendable degree of loyalty based on unwritten codes that reveal the empathy and affection that we come to feel for our classmates.
Cada personaje guarda su propia historia y no te será difícil identificarte con algunos de ellos, ya sea porque hayas vivido algo similar durante tu etapa de estudiante o por si aún estás en eso. Después del papel de Robin como el profesor Keating destaco el personaje interpretado por Gale Hansen (Charlie Dalton) que básicamente describe esa clase de estudiante volátil y por momento apasionado por lo que quiere, y que a pesar de su osadía logra encontrar esa chispa que despierta su motivación y emoción para dar esos primeros pasos que los llevaran a levantar los cimientos de la llamada “sociedad de los poetas muertos”.
Each character has his or her own story and it won't be difficult for you to identify with some of them, either because you have lived something similar during your student days or because you are still a student. After Robin's role as Professor Keating, I highlight the character played by Gale Hansen (Charlie Dalton) who basically describes that kind of volatile student and at times passionate about what he wants, and who despite his boldness manages to find that spark that awakens his motivation and excitement to take those first steps that will lead them to raise the foundations of the so-called "society of dead poets".
Algo que disfruto mucho de esta película es el lugar que se le da a la literatura y a la poesía, algo que muchas veces puede ser poco valorado o pasar desapercibido. Si bien se trata de un club de poesía, el mensaje es bastante claro y contundente de tal forma que hasta se puede expresar con dos palabras “Carpe Diem”. ¿Qué significado tendrá esto? De seguro que te sorprenderá la profundidad que guarda esta pequeña pero poderosa frase y como no solo marca el desarrollo de la trama sino que podrás amarla y aplicarla en tu propia vida.
Así que si eres amante del cine y de la poesía, en “El club de los poetas muertos” encontrarás esa combinación perfecta que te trasladará a una asombrosa historia que sin duda logrará avivar ese poeta que quizás hoy duerme en ti y que tiene mucho por dar y vivir.
“CARPE DIEM”
Something I really enjoy about this film is the place given to literature and poetry, something that can often be underappreciated or overlooked. Although it is a poetry club, the message is quite clear and forceful in such a way that it can even be expressed in two words "Carpe Diem". What is the meaning of this? For sure you will be surprised by the depth that this small but powerful phrase holds and how it not only marks the development of the plot but you will be able to love it and apply it in your own life.
So if you are a lover of cinema and poetry, in "Dead poet society" you will find that perfect combination that will transport you to an amazing story that will undoubtedly manage to enliven that poet that perhaps today sleeps in you and has much to give and live.
