I still cant get over of Euphoria. The second season was only has 8 episodes. I mean I understand because it was really amazing. The first time I watch the S1, I was actually thinking WTF? This is what teenagers in the US do? But I think the first season was ok, in a way not too explicit but still explicit. How about Season 2? Oh man..
A bad influence for teenagers?
Is teenagers really allowed to watch Euphoria because some people think this series is too mature/too much for them? Well I personally think the same but, there is also some series which the story is about teenager's life that also shows nudity, sex scene and drugs but I somehow see Euphoria is just too extreme and depressing. Talking about S2 I personally think the aesthetic and everythings is amazing compared to S1. If you still unsure to give it a shoot or not, I suggest you better stay and keep reading this article till the end. Well, I actually wrote about the story, characters also the music on my previous article, if you want to read that first you can click here.
Season 2 is 'worse' than Season 1
As I said, the first season is already giving us nudity, drugs, and sex scenes. S2 is also has all of them because that was the story all about. But Imma say, 'worse'. All combined and it is just gets more deeper and depressing. A girl who misses her dad who passed away and started taking drugs to get her away from that feelings but I'm telling you, it'd never be the answer. As in S2 her mom says that Rue is too selfish. It is not only her who misses the exsistence of the dad. How about her mom and sister? Of course they also do. But she keep blaming everyone because she thinks everyone can't understand what shit she's been through.
Season 2 is way too depressing... still I couldn't stop watching
She was so close to her dad. That fucked her up when she has to face the reality that her dad will no longer there for her and things basically changed. Shit hurts. I mean I understand that, but she should concern about her mom and sister too. Since her father passed away, now it's her mom resposibility and should taking 2 roles for being both parents. It surely is hard for her. But Rue making the situation worse without concern about anyone else's feelings only herself. To blaming her mom because she thinks her mom doesnt understand how hurt she is because of her father's death is another level of selfishness. What do you think about Rue's family situation? Do you think this is normal to act like that after your loved ones's passes away? Share your opinion in the comment down below.
The nudity is shocking
The sex scenes is actually way too extreme for me. I've watched some teenage series with nudity but Euphoria is just too 'transparent' I would say. I mean I dont think some people would expected this 'extreme-ness' from some teenager series. Euphoria made by young people but the question is, 'is Euphoria made for teens?'. The teenage world is honestly getting crazy. It supports by the modern world we live in now because we can access anything on the internet. Being a hacker at teenage age? This aint new. The new generation is smarter yet still need guidance.
My personal thoughts about Euphoria
If you ask me about my personal thoughts of the whole story of Euphoria, I would say it is not only about the drugs and nudity but there are good messages we could take from it. The story between Maddy and Cassie. These girls has been bestfriends since forever but one day Cassie stabbed Maddy's back by sleeping with Nate, Maddy's ex-boyfriend. It happens alot in real life. Been friendship for years doesnt mean your friends will always loyal. Shit happens baby. But to fuck your bestfriend's ex is nasty. Especially in this case your bestfriend been talking about getting back together with their ex and they telling you this because they trusted you. But you fucked it up. It's not about the assholes you were fucking with, it is about the friendship between you and your bestfriend.
Which audience is actually perfect for Euphoria?
The creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson said "I hope it creates a certain dialogue between parents and their kids. I don’t think this is a show for people under 17, but…” “…but if your parent wants to have a conversation about it, that’s good,” Zendaya as a main character for Euphoria continued. I personally agreed with that. It depends on how people viewing things. It could be good for both kids and parents. Sam continues again_ “Or if you’re going to watch it anyway, and you have a feeling your kid is going to watch it anyway, then it might be good to have a conversation with them”. Source
So Is it only for teens?
We can't keep denying that things like is not really happen in real life. Fact is, this is actually happen on some teenagers that take the wrong way for escaping or just a curious feeling. I think this is actually good in 'parents prespective' so then they know how to lead their kids, and more concern about this kind of 'teenage world' that your kids live in. How about the teenager perspective itself? This actually made for them. The story itself is not only about bad things that teenager do. Family is included. That is why I'm saying this series is not only teenager could watch but also the parents. As I said it depends on how you see it from both good and bad sides. It's you who decide.
