¿El psicópata más realista del cine?
En la universidad de Bruselas, Samuel Leisfeld junto con 10 psiquiatras vieron 400 películas estrenadas desde 1915 hasta 2010 para analizar a cada antagonista de las películas y dieron a la conclusión de que 105 hombres y 21 mujeres tenían trastornos relacionados con la psicopatía.
Lo sorprende fue que los monstros más querido de la pantalla como Hannibal Lecter (El silencio de los corderos) Norman Bates (Psicosis) resultaron siendo lo menos realistas, ya que los psicópatas reales no son tan inteligentes, o tenía otro tipos de trastornos que no eran específicamente la psicopatía.

What was surprising was that the most beloved monsters of the screen such as Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs) Norman Bates (Psycho) turned out to be the least realistic, since real psychopaths are not as intelligent, or had other types of disorders that were not specifically psychopathy.

Para poder hablar un poco más de Chigurd hay que entender en la historia en la que está rodeado.
La película es basada en un libro de Cormac Mccarthy (no country for old man) y dirigida por los hermanos Cohen.
El veterano de guerra Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) se encuentra una carnicería entre bandos de narcotraficantes que salió mal en el medio del desierto de Texas, encontrando un cargamento de heroína y una maleta con dos millones de dólares en efectivo que se la lleva para su casa remolque , Chigurd ( Javier Barden) es un asesino asueldo contratado para recuperar el dinero, pero su objetivo es obtener la maleta a toda costa solo para cumplir con la promesa.
Synopsis of No Country for old Man.
In order to talk a little more about Chigurd you have to understand the story in which he is surrounded.
The film is based on a book by Cormac Mccarthy (no country for old man) and directed by the Cohen brothers.
War veteran Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon a drug gang carnage gone wrong in the middle of the Texas desert, finding a shipment of heroin and a suitcase with two million dollars in cash that he takes to his trailer home, Chigurd (Javier Barden) is a hit man hired to retrieve the money, but his goal is to get the suitcase at all costs just to fulfill the promise.
CARASTERISTICAS DE ANTON CHIGURD.
“Sin sentimientos y despiadado”
En cada interacción que tiene Chigurd con cualquier persona es fría y sin sentimientos, siempre mata por alguna razón como robar un vehículo o porque simplemente ya recibió toda la información que necesitaba de esa persona, sin ningún tipo de remordimientos ni piedad.
CHARACTERISTICS OF ANTON CHIGURD.
"Unfeeling and ruthless".
In every interaction Chigurd has with any person he is cold and unfeeling, he always kills for some reason like stealing a vehicle or because he simply already received all the information he needed from that person, without any remorse or mercy.
No siente dolor físico
Después de un tiroteo entre Llewelyn y Chigurd, en donde ambos acabaron profundamente heridos, Chigurd se refugia en un hotel para limpiar y cocer sus múltiples heridas causadas por una escopeta, y su cara mientras lo hace es casi inexpresiva ,también en otra escena, debido a un choque automovilístico se puede ver como se fractura el brazo y tomarlo más que todo como una molestia que lo impide apresurarse, lo cual podría ocurrir en la vida real, ya que los especialistas aseguran que los psicópatas pueden soportar hasta diez veces más el dolor que una persona neurotípica.
He feels no physical pain
After a shootout between Llewelyn and Chigurd, where they both end up deeply wounded, Chigurd takes refuge in a hotel to clean and cook his multiple wounds caused by a shotgun, and his face while doing so is almost expressionless ,also in another scene, due to a car crash you can see how he fractures his arm and take it mostly as a discomfort that prevents him from rushing, which could happen in real life, as specialists assure that psychopaths can withstand up to ten times more pain than a neurotypical person.
“Yo llegué del mismo modo que la moneda”
¿Chigurd tiene principios? Primero hablemos de la moneda: una de las escenas más tensas de la película es de Anton Chigurd con el propietario de una gasolinera, quiere conversar un poco con él, pero al parecer Chigurd se molesta y comienza hacerle preguntas muy concretas, sobre donde vive, a qué hora se va dormir, a lo que el señor responde todas las preguntas pero estaba desconcertado, sin sentido Chigurd lanza una moneda y pide que elija cara o cruz, el señor está confundido y le pregunta que va a ganar, que tiene que saber cual es el riesgo, el propietario se resiste un poco porque estaba nervioso y tenía miedo, lo que se da a entender en la escena es que si el propietario elige mal, entonces habrán terribles consecuencias, por suerte el señor eligió correctamente y Chigurd le pide a el señor que esa es su moneda de la suerte y que no la guarde con las otras. Lo curioso de todo, es que durante toda la escena se le escucha decir cosas como “Ha apostado toda su vida pero no lo sabías” “Vas a ganarlo todo”
Hay otra escena que involucra el simbolismo de la moneda, pero es diferente, Chigurd llega por teléfono a hablar con Moss para entrar un acuerdo, diciéndole que si le da el dinero del maletín, dejara vivir a su esposa, Carla Jean, a lo cual Moss rechazó rotundamente, al final, cuando asesinan a Moss, Chidgurd va a la casa de Carla Jean y le dice que su esposo tuvo oportunidad de salvarla pero decidió salvarse él, en toda esta situación Chigurd le da a a Carla Jean que elige el lado de la moneda, lo cual ella se niega y le dice que es el que debe elegir a lo que él responde “vine del mismo lugar de donde vino la moneda”

Does Chigurd have principles? Let's talk about the coin first: one of the most tense scenes in the film is of Anton Chigurd with the owner of a gas station, he wants to have a little chat with him, but apparently Chigurd gets annoyed and starts asking him very specific questions, about where he lives, what time he goes to sleep, to which the gentleman answers all the questions but was puzzled, senseless Chigurd flips a coin and asks him to choose heads or tails, the gentleman is confused and asks him what he is going to win, he has to know what is the risk, the owner resists a little because he was nervous and afraid, what is implied in the scene is that if the owner chooses wrong, then there will be terrible consequences, luckily the gentleman chose correctly and Chigurd asks the gentleman that this is his lucky coin and not to keep it with the others. The funny thing about it all, is that during the whole scene he is heard saying things like "He has gambled all his life but you didn't know it" "You're going to win it all".
There is another scene involving the symbolism of the coin, but it is different, Chigurd arrives by phone to talk to Moss to enter an agreement, telling him that if he gives him the money from the briefcase, he will let his wife, Carla Jean, live, to which Moss flatly refused, at the end, when Moss is murdered, Chidgurd goes to Carla Jean's house and tells her that her husband had a chance to save her but decided to save himself, in this whole situation Chigurd gives Carla Jean to choose the side of the coin, which she refuses and tells him that he is the one to choose to which he replies "I came from the same place the coin came from".
Se ve a si mismo como la representación del destino, tiene sus principios y reglas, y cuando alguien las contradice, se vuelve inquieto, ya que esa fachada (moneda, tratos) llegan a ser su razón para matar.
Chigurd no mata a una mujer en una recepción porque seguía las reglas, por más de que estás reglas lo impidieran a él lograr su objetivo, le tenía respecto a la señora porque tenía principios como él, y simplemente se fue.
He sees himself as the representation of destiny, he has his principles and rules, and when someone contradicts them, he becomes restless, as that facade (coin, deals) become his reason for killing.
Chigurd does not kill a woman at a reception because he followed the rules, even if these rules prevented him from achieving his goal, he respected the lady because she had principles like him, and he simply left.
¿Qué piensa Javier Bardem acerca del personaje que interpretó?
Es una composición de la que estoy orgulloso. No es un personaje. Es una idea, la violencia en estado puro. Y humanizar esto, para que el espectador pueda leer que hay algo de nosotros, es difícil. Es mérito de los Coen. Yo hice lo mío, pero lo protegen, con los actores: los silencios, la falta de música. Ésa es la magia del cine.
También llegó a decir que durante la grabación estaba atravesando momentos difíciles.
Estaba destrozado, pasando por un mal momento. Me sentía como pez fuera del agua
La barrera de idioma y el estar mucho tiempo en otro país que no fuera el suyo, hizo que la experiencia también fuera difícil, hizo que extrañara a su vida familia.
“Pero aquí estoy, interpretando a este tipo tan horrible”.
What does Javier Bardem think about the character he played?

Mientras hacía el análisis sobre Chigurd, di a la conclusión de que era el único personaje del cine por el cual no sentía empatía, ya que no se conoce su vida personal, ni su pasado, ni el origen de sus principios, la capacidad de Bardem para hacer un personaje con la mirada tan fría y árida es fascinante, y aun así llega a sentir dentro de tu piel.

Conclusion
While doing the analysis about Chigurd, I came to the conclusion that he was the only character in cinema for whom I didn't feel empathy, we no longer know his personal life, nor his past, nor the origin of his principles, Bardem's ability to make a character with such a cold and distant look, and yet he becomes profound and one of the most unforgettable characters in cinema.
