Thanks to the end of the year vacations, after a lot of work I could finally have more time to watch series and movies, however, I had to be selective especially because it is a time to spend it with the family, so whatever I chose to watch had to be to everyone's taste at home, that for me was counterproductive because there are many series scheduled that in the last six months I was looking forward to watch.
Política, espías, rebelión, escape de cárcel ¿Enserio esto es Star War?
Gracias a las vacaciones de final de año, luego de mucho trabajo por fin pude tener más tiempo para ver series y películas, sin embargo, tenía que ser selectivo en especial porque es un tiempo para pasarla en familia, así que lo que escogiera ver tenía que ser del gusto de todos en casa, eso para mí fue contraproducente porque hay muchas series agendadas que en los últimos seis meses esperaba con ansias ver.
My oldest son proposed to watch the new series of the Star War universe called Andor, my immediate reaction was a NO! He was super surprised because he knows that I'm a fan of this saga, but with the exception of the Mandalorian, every modern spin-off they have made has been total crap, with the respect of the fans let me say it, especially with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, what a waste, I had so much hype and I was deeply disappointed, you'll understand why I didn't want anything related to Star War.

El quedo super sorprendido porque sabe que soy algo fan de esta saga, pero con excepción del Mandalorian, todo spin-off moderno que han hecho ha sido una total porquería, con el respeto de los fan me permito decirlo, en especial con la serie de Obi-Wan Kenobi, que desperdicio, tenía tanta emoción y quedé profundamente decepcionado, entenderán porque no quería nada relacionado con Star War.
Why I like Star War
I know that some here in the community aren't fans of this saga, it's understandable, not many like science fiction, but my thing with this saga comes from childhood. My first contact was with toys, back in the late 80's, a second cousin, only son, his parents brought him from the United States some impressive toys with a level of detail, robots and special ships that left me shocked, I didn't even know what they belonged to, I remember leaving his house and asking my dad to help me to know what Star War was, until the movie showed on national TV the Death Star, love at first sight.

Se que algunos acá en la comunidad no son fan de esta saga, es entendible, no muchos se decantan por la ciencia ficción, pero lo mío con esta saga viene desde la niñez. Mi primer contacto fue con los juguetes, por allá a finales de los 80, un primo segundo hijo único le trajeron de Estados Unidos unos juguetes impresionante con un nivel de detalles, unos robots y naves especiales que me dejaron impactado, ni sabía a qué pertenecían, recuerdo salir de su casa y pedirle a mi papá que me ayudara a saber que era Star War, hasta que por la tele nacional pasaron la estrella de la muerte, amor a primera vista.

My oldest son knows this story, he knows how much I liked those first movies, that's why he insisted that I had to watch this series and I thank him for doing so, because it is a prequel of how the rebellion is born and ends with the most powerful weapon of the empire, the death star, that mega ship the size of a planet that luke Skywalker destroys by launching missiles through a small ventilation grille. How could such a scene not be shocking if we were witnessing the birth of CGI, incredible to think that a 16-bit computer was responsible.
Mi hijo mayor conoce está historia, sabe lo mucho que esas primeras películas me gustaron, por eso insistió en que tenía que ver está serie y le agradezco que lo hiciera, porque se trata de una precuela de cómo nace la rebelión que acaba con el arma más poderosa del imperio, la estrella de la muerte, esa mega nave del tamaño de un planeta que luke Skywalker destruye lanzando unos misiles por una pequeña reja de ventilación. Como no iba a impactar tal escena si estábamos presenciando el nacimiento del CGI, increíble pensar que una computadora de 16 bits fue al responsable.
From skepticism to a big surprise, this doesn't look like Star War!
With this my son got my attention, but still somewhat skeptical I agreed to watch it, and I say skeptical because of all the unnecessary filler created and called franchise, dragging out something that perfectly closed with the second trilogy that George Lucas brought to explain to his audience, because his movies didn't provide context, but after that the filler has been exaggerated.
The series starts a little slow, tells the story of a man named Cassian Andor and we see him in search of a lost sister between shades of his past because this "lost". It happens that, by asking questions in the wrong place, he must confront corrupt police officers who try to rob him, an altercation that ends with him killing both of them. He returns to his planet and knows that what he did is serious and begins to put together a plan to cover up his crime and have an alibi, until here I said to myself: is this Star War?
De escepticismo a una gran sorpresa ¡Esto no parece Star War!
Con esto mi hijo captó mi atención, pero aún un tanto escéptico acepte verla, y digo escéptico debido a todo el relleno innecesario que han creado y han llamado franquicia, que le han dado largas a algo que perfectamente cerró con la segunda trilogía que Gorge Lucas trajo para explicar a su audiencia, porque sus películas no aportaban contexto, pero después de eso el relleno ha sido exagerado.
La serie inicia algo lenta, cuenta la historia de un hombre llamado Cassian Andor y le vemos en la búsqueda de una hermana perdida entre matices de su pasado de porque esta “perdida”. Ocurre que, por hacer las preguntas en el lugar menos indicado, debe enfrentar a policías corruptos que tratan de robarle, altercado que termina el matando a ambos. Regresa a su planeta y sabe que lo que hizo es grave y empieza a armar un plan para encubrir su crimen y tener una coartada, hasta aquí me dije: ¿ya va, esto es Star War?

From here on everything is a surprise, I haven't told you even 5% of the story, we see a series of 12 episodes where you don't expect to see a political conflict, senators conspire to overthrow a tyrant emperor who came to power in the most vile way, and who rules with terror and chaos, does it sound familiar? The rise of subversive movements led from the shadows with cold war style intelligence and counter intelligence actions, plans to steal resources and finance the rebellion that George Clooney's best laid plans in his Ocean's Eleven movies fall flat.

De aquí en adelante todo es sorpresa señores, no les he contados ni un 5% de la historia, vemos una serie de 12 episodios donde no te esperas ver un conflicto político, senadores conspiran para derrocar a un emperador tirano que se puso en el poder de la forma más vil, y que gobierna con terror y caos ¿Les suena familiar? El surgimiento de movimientos subversivos liderizados desde la sombra con acciones de inteligencia y contra-inteligencia al estilo de la guerra fría, planes para robar recursos y financiar la rebelión que los mejores planes de George Clooney en sus películas de Ocean's Eleven (La Gran Estafa) se quedan pendejos.
And at no time do you see a lightsaber, nor do they talk about a Jedi, nor do you even see strange creatures that remind you that you are watching something from the Star War universe, except for a combat scene in space that puts you on the edge of your seat and you say WTF just happened! Also at the end you see the occasional Stormtrooper (white armored soldiers) but as mere soldiers and that's it, however, most of the time you forget that you were watching something Star Wars related.
Not to mention the prison story, wow how incredible it was, almost forgot to mention, it also has that prison brake touch, Cassian falls prisoner for nothing more than whim of the empire, from day one in prison he is planning his escape, but he requires the help of other prisoners, the main one of them one that works as a foreman and that the others if they listen. After some events everyone learns that the prison will be their tomb, they will never be able to leave, what happens then is translated in many ways, it looks like a perfect criticism even to current prison systems, and I better stop to not give spoilers, but what scenes and what a story.
Y en ningún momento ves un sable de luz, ni te hablan de un Jedí, ni siquiera se ven criaturas extrañas que te recuerden que estás viendo algo del universo de Star War, salvo una escena de combate en el espacio que te pone al borde del aviento y dices ¡WTF que acaba de pasar! También al final ves uno que otro Stormtrooper (soldaos con armadura blanca) pero como meros soldados y ya, sin embargo, la mayoría del tiempo olvidas que estaba viendo algo relacionado a la guerra de las galaxias.
Dígame la historia de la cárcel, puff que brutal, casi olvidó mencionar, también tiene ese toque de prisión brake, Cassian cae preso por nada mas que capricho del imperio, desde el día uno en la cárcel esta planificando su escape, pero requiere la ayuda de otros presos, el principal de ellos uno que funciona como capataz y que los demás si escuchan. Luego de unos acontecimientos todos se enteran que la cárcel será su tumba jamás podrán salir, lo que ocurre luego se traduce de muchas maneras, se ve como una perfecta crítica incluso a sistemas penitenciarios actuales, y mejor me detengo para no dar spoiler, pero vaya que escenas y que historia.
And I haven't talked about other aspects in detail such as an ashtray that has run out of money to finance the rebellion and turns to a mobster for help, another aspect of a supposed leader who is willing to sacrifice soldiers whose deaths arouse the rage of the people to join the cause and that he won't be discovered, definitely incredible. In truth the series is loaded with small stories that gave way to a rebellion and a war against the empire, are stories that however small they are, are part of a whole that perhaps many will never know, that's life, many things happen of which we don't know, but were necessary for the greater good, but the story continues and the most important thing is to achieve the higher goal.
Definitely the best series that Disney has ever released, and that's saying a lot.
Y eso que no he hablado de otros aspectos en detalle como el de una cenadora que se ha quedado sin dinero para financiar la rebelión y recurre a un mafioso para que la ayude, otro aspecto el de un supuesto líder que esta dispuesto a sacrificar soldados cuyas muertes despierten la rabia de las personas para que se unan a la causa y que el no sea descubierto, definitivamente increíble. En verdad la serie está cargada de pequeñas historias que dieron paso a una rebelión y a una guerra contra el imperio, son historias que por mas pequeñas que sean, son parte de un todo del que quizás muchos jamás sabrán, así es la vida, muchas cosas ocurren de las cuales no sabemos, pero fueron necesarias para un bien mayor, pero la historia continua y lo mas importante es lograr el objetivo superior.
Definitivamente la mejor serie que a sacado Disney, y eso es mucho decir.
