Hola mi gente linda hoy les traigo una película del genero suspenso y crimen que hace poco fue estrenada en Netflix y la cuál me llamo la atención luego de haber leído unos comentarios sobre ella, como siempre no le hare SPOILER a la trama pero si les compartiré mi opinión sobre que me pareció, su nombre es EL EXTRAÑO.
Hello my beautiful people, today I bring you a movie of the suspense and crime genre that was recently released on Netflix and which caught my attention after reading some comments about it, as always I will not SPOILER the plot but I will share my opinion on what it seemed to me, his name is THE STRANGER.
Algo en lo que debo ser muy honesta, es que creo que casi todo el mundo alguna vez en su vida ha visto una película de policías y criminales y es algo que ya sabemos principalmente de que se trata, que es atrapar a los malos, el factor sorpresa siempre será la ejecución y la forma estratégica de atrapar a esos criminales, y eso es netamente lo que pasa aquí.
Something that I have to be very honest about is that I think that almost everyone has seen a movie about cops and criminals at some point in their life and it is something that we already know mainly what it is about, which is catching the bad guys, the surprise factor will always be the execution and the strategic way of catching those criminals, and that is clearly what happens here.
No quiero hablar mucho de la sinopsis porque prácticamente es contar toda la película, pero la trama esta basada en un caso de la vida real, un crimen que sucedió en el año 2003 en Queensland - Australia y que fue uno de los crímenes más investigados en todo el país por el secuestro y asesinato del niño Daniel James Morcombe de 13 años, estamos hablando de un país que es considerado como uno de los lugares mas seguros del mundo, con una baja tasa de criminalidad.
I don't want to talk much about the synopsis because it practically tells the whole movie, but the plot is based on a real life case, a crime that happened in 2003 in Queensland - Australia and that was one of the most investigated crimes in the entire country for the kidnapping and murder of 13-year-old boy Daniel James Morcombe, we are talking about a country that is considered one of the safest places in the world, with a low crime rate.
Pasaron casi 8 años desde la desaparición del niño sin haber encontrado aún al culpable, así que la trama de la película se basa en el trabajo encubierto realizado por la policía de Queensland en Australia y toda la orquestación que tuvieron que armar y realizar para dar con la captura del culpable, una investigación en conjunto que estuvo magistral.

Como actores tenemos a Joel Edgerton quien interpreta a Mark, y tenemos a Sean Harris como Henry Teague. La trama de la historia es bastante oscura y para algunos puede llegar a parecer un poco pesada y lenta, porque al inicio comienza de forma muy confusa, ya que no se narran los hechos ni nada por el estilo, solo tenemos una voz que inicia recitando una oración como de meditación o algo por el estilo.
As actors we have Joel Edgerton who plays Mark, and we have Sean Harris as Henry Teague. The plot of the story is quite dark and for some it may seem a bit heavy and slow, because at the beginning it begins in a very confusing way, since the facts are not narrated or anything like that, we only have a voice that starts reciting a prayer like meditation or something like that.
Esto sin ningún tipo de soundtrack, lo que hace que todo sea más denso haciendo que el espectador no entienda que sucede, sobretodo si no conoces nada de la historia como me paso a mi, en realidad no sabia que estaba basada en un caso de la vida real, pero veremos como estos dos protagonistas se conocen en un acto que pareciera pura casualidad, pero que poco a poco vas descubriendo las intensiones de cada uno.
This without any kind of soundtrack, which makes everything more dense, making the viewer not understand what is happening, especially if you do not know anything about the story as it happened to me, in reality I did not know that it was based on a case of the real life, but we will see how these two protagonists meet in an act that seems pure chance, but little by little you discover the intentions of each one.
A medida que avanza la trama la relación se vuelve extrañamente estrecha, ya que se siente la incomodidad de ambos durante toda la historia, a pesar que en el desarrollo ambos están tratando de ganarse la confianza uno del otro, ya que tenemos a un criminal que esta siendo investigado sin darse cuenta mientras intenta realizar un trabajo para otro supuesto criminal y tenemos a un policía encubierto que esta haciendo todo por ganarse la confianza del sospechoso sin que esté se imagine nada de lo que esta pasando a sus espaldas.
As the plot progresses, the relationship becomes strangely close, since the discomfort of both is felt throughout the story, despite the fact that in the development both are trying to gain each other's trust, since we have a criminal who He is being investigated without realizing it while trying to do a job for another supposed criminal and we have an undercover policeman who is doing everything to gain the trust of the suspect without him imagining anything that is happening behind his back.
Además de ver todo lo que hay detrás de una operación encubierto, podemos notar lo estresante y complejo que es tanto a nivel mental como a nivel emocional para quienes tienen que llevar esta operación a cabo de manera exitosa, veremos como el policía comienza afectarle mentalmente tener que convivir estrechamente con un asesino el cual puede poner en riesgo su vida en cualquier momento.
In addition to seeing everything that is behind an undercover operation, we can see how stressful and complex it is both mentally and emotionally for those who have to carry out this operation successfully, we will see how the police begins to affect him mentally having to live closely with a murderer who can put his life at risk at any time.
Aunque la forma de relatar los hecho fue bastante pesada, diría que es una película que no le va a gustar a todo el mundo, porque seguramente a muchos les termine resultando algo aburrida si lo que buscan es ver algo de acción y pelea, en lo personal creo que no la volvería a ver otra vez porque no cuenta nada más allá de como capturaron de manera inteligente a un sospechoso y como a veces puede llegar hacer difícil mostrar la culpabilidad de alguien si no tienes pruebas como un cuerpo o ADN.
Although the way of recounting the events was quite heavy, I would say that it is a film that not everyone is going to like, because surely many will end up being somewhat boring if what they are looking for is to see some action and fight, in what Personally, I think I would never see it again because it does not tell anything beyond how they intelligently captured a suspect and how it can sometimes make it difficult to prove someone's guilt if you do not have evidence such as a body or DNA.
Para mi el que más se destaca con la actuación de su personaje es Sean Harris, realmente un cambio radical porque lo veremos aquí como un hombre barbudo bastante mayor y desaliñado acabado por la vida, algo que me sorprende mucho en este tipo de interpretaciones, aunque si el resto del reparto hace un buen trabajo con cada personaje, pero en lo personal pienso que Sean fue el que más se destaco de todos.
For me, the one that stands out the most with the performance of his character is Sean Harris, really a radical change because we will see him here as a rather old and disheveled bearded man finished by life, something that surprises me a lot in this type of interpretation, although if the rest of the cast does a good job with each character, but personally I think that Sean was the one that stood out the most.
