I rarely watch movies, but when I do, I make sure it's worth my patience. So, I watched Homebound recently, and honestly, it left me with this quiet ache I wasn’t expecting. You know those films that don’t try too hard, show you life the way it is, and somehow that hits even deeper.
The movie follows two childhood friends, Shoaib and Chandan, who dream of becoming policemen to elevate their lives most preferably status quo. But life around them keeps getting heavier. Their world is small, their choices even smaller, still their dreams feel so big. Watching them hold on to that dream felt emotional because you can see how much it means to them.
But yes, Life is very unpredictable; it throws hurdles at you when you are least expecting it, that's what happens in Shoaib and Chandan's lives. Won't spam you with the spoilers. The film doesn’t use loud drama. It uses small moments. And those moments speak louder than any dialogue.
By the end, Homebound doesn’t give a perfect happy ending. But it gives something real. Something that makes you sit for a minute and think about people in your life: about dreams you once held tightly. About how growing up sometimes changes things you never wanted to change.
If you like movies that feel human and honest, Homebound is definitely worth watching.
Also also, Homebound is India's official entry for the 2026 Oscars. So yes! I feel i have convinced you enough to give it a watch.
