Hello, how are you, fellow movie buffs and lovers of horror movies and series! As you know, I always review all kinds of movies and series of any genre, but I lean more towards horror, psychological horror, and those movies or series that have some kind of drama. Today, I want to give you my impressions of a series that I have loved in recent days. It has two seasons. Of course, I'm already on the second one because I was able to watch the first season in a short time, around two or three days. It's the 2018 series called Castle Rock.
This series has some very well-known and important actors. We see the undisputed and super-talented Bill Skarsgård, who is one of the most important characters in the series. He is very famous for the character of Pennywise or “It” in Spanish. We also see several other important figures, such as one of the protagonists of the series Lost, among others.
I am a fan of psychological horror series and movies, as well as drama and suspense, and if you are too, believe me, you will love this series. The truth is that it is quite new. At first, I wasn't very confident about it, since I am always watching similar series and movies, and there comes a point where nothing you see surprises you anymore. But in this case, I loved it, I enjoyed it a lot, and I discovered a genre, or rather, I discovered a series that I'm really interested in.
Unfortunately, I've read some things about there only being two seasons; it was canceled after the second, which is quite sad because the second season is very, very good. The fact is that Stephen King, who is the creator of the series, always surprises us with his creativity, with that terrifying mind of his and how he captures it in his books and movies. This series has a pretty strong plot, sometimes we can get confused, so you have to be really focused, and the performances are spectacular.
Castle Rock | Official Trailer
I'm already on the second season, about halfway through the fifth episode, and I'm really enjoying it. I don't think it has much to do with the first season, although maybe later on it will show me something that is related. To give you a little hint, and not tell you the whole plot so that you'll be curious and go watch it: the first season is about a man named Henry Deaver who receives a call from an inmate in a prison in a town called Castle Rock.
This universe is closely related to that of Derry. I hadn't understood or analyzed it, but it is related to Derry, the well-known town where the movie Pennywise/It takes place. If you love these kinds of suspenseful, scary, thought-provoking movies and series, this series is for you. I hope you get to see it. Let me know if you've seen it and what you think. Hugs!
