The film whose story and direction is due to Adam Mckay and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence (in the main roles) and the outstanding performances of Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Rob Morgan, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Tomer Sisley is undoubtedly a masterful production of Netflix. At first we might think that this is just another movie where a large asteroid approaches the earth to cause the total destruction of everything we know and certainly that is the theme that inspires the film, however what strikes us is the treatment that this news is given by the U.S. government and worldwide.

The discovery by the scientists Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawerence) and Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) is taken as a game to the point of being minimized and ridiculed, there comes a point in the film where you understand how absurd we as human beings have made everything that happens around us. With this film you can appreciate the lowest and cruelest of human beings, how careless and selfish we are with the planet and with our own lives. This event that brings with it the destruction and extinction of all life on the planet is nullified and its importance does not exist when people are told "don't look up". This phrase becomes at the end of the film a manifestation of how irresponsible we are when we downplay the importance of events by thinking that if I don't look it won't happen.

As the film went on, which I enjoyed in its two hours and minutes in its entirety, I could identify with many of the things that happened from the nature of the human being as a self-destructive entity. This film without great effects and a beautiful musicalization tells a story that we definitely already know but it does it from what would really happen to all of us if that were to happen due to the irresponsibility of the masses. Really, I must say that the film moved me, the performances of DiCaprio and Lawrence were masterful as we got to see them in two roles that perhaps are not what they usually at this point in their careers would choose but it was undoubtedly an excellent decision.

I will not tell you the ending, but I will invite you to watch it if you have not yet done so and to comment on what impacted you the most, for my part, I recognize that the moment in which each one decides how and with whom to spend their last minutes of existence was what moved me to the last fiber of my being. Please leave your comments at the end of the post. I think I will re-watch the movie a few more times, there is too much to analyze.
Tell me what is your favorite line from the movie and why?
