When I first watched the Machete Kills movie I could not imagine a movie full of top actors but it was set as silly as possible in every sequel by eccentric director Robert Rodriguez, the director with a silly movie's style returned with the sequel to his movie, Machete.
Machete Kills is the sequel to the first movie Machete. Continue to use Danny Trejo as the main character of this movie and many other casts in this movie which enliven the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's Machete film.
Same as the first movie, Machete Kills featured many big stars, even more. Some new names that appear include Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Demian Bichir, Charlie Sheen, Vanessa Hudgens, Antonio Banderas to Lady Gaga.
Machete Kill tells Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo) accompanied by his colleague trying to catch the seller of firearms who used to supply drug lords. Unfortunately, the arrest attempt failed miserably. Machete even suffered severe injuries besides having to lose his colleague, Sartana Rivera (Jessica Alba), who was killed in the attempt.
Machete was later detained by corrupt police and sentenced to death. Luckily, he was released at the request of President Rathcock (Carloz Estevez) who gave him the task of hunting psychopath Marcos Mendez (Demian Bichir). In order to survive, Machete also agreed to the offer.
He then asked the help of some friends to trace Marcos's whereabouts. In carrying out his mission, he must deal with various cruel enemies, ranging from Madame Desdemona (Sofia Vergara) to corrupt businessman Luther Voz (Mel Gibson).Synopsis
What makes Machete fun? The answer is thanks to all aspects, from gore to sexiness that is sold so cheaply. But the cheap side presented by Robert Rodriguez feels like an honesty.
In the end, Machete has indeed become a fun entertainment that is fun but everything is still neatly summarized even though from the outside it looks so careless.
So when the film closes with a "promise" that Machete will come back again in two sequels titled Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again I am also happy to look forward to the return of Danny Trejo as a brutal super (anti) hero.
Machete Kills is indeed far from good. But many things made me at least enjoy what Robert Rodriguez presented in his second film. Jokes that appear may be more towards black comedy.
The plot of Machete Kills did look everywhere. Moreover, when the number of characters one by one filled the screen of this movie. Trying to get the same screening time except Machete who, well, the main character is automatically having a more dominant screening time.
Danny Trejo who became the frontman in this movie. Yep, he was able to bring the figure of Machete who was strong, proud, and cold. The role that really surprised me was Lady Gaga, and it turned out she really could act. You could see the following trailer for sure
