Hello friends! Today I come to tell you about the series of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Antes de empezar a dar mi opinión sobre está serie les quiero confesar que nunca leí los libros ni vi las películas. La verdad que no sé porque no vi las películas si la fantasía épica me fascina, es de las cosas que más disfruto mirar y leer. Pero como que no se dio, a pesar de lo famosa que es esta saga y todo. Igualmente planeo revertir esta situación pronto.
Desde ya les digo que al no conocer más que lo básico no puedo hablar de cambios en la trama o incongruencias con respecto a personajes y relaciones inventadas o no. Para mí esto es lo que es. La mire con los ojos de quién entra a este mundo por primera vez.
Bueno, sin más preámbulos pasemos a dar mi opinión.
Before I start giving my opinion about this series I want to confess that I never read the books nor saw the movies. The truth is that I don't know why I didn't see the movies if epic fantasy fascinates me, it's one of the things I most enjoy watching and reading. But it just didn't happen, despite how famous this saga is and everything. Anyway, I plan to revert this situation soon.
I can't talk about changes in the plot or incongruities regarding characters and relationships, invented or not, since I don't know more than the basics. For me this is what it is. I looked at it with the eyes of someone entering this world for the first time.
Well, without further ado, let's give my opinion.
La historia en sí misma se me hizo un poco confusa en el primer capítulo porque me introdujo a un mundo del cual no tenía ni idea. Muchos nombres y cosas por descubrir de este lugar. El primer capítulo empieza explicándonos lo que pasó al principio con la Tierra Media y cómo los Elfos tuvieron que mudarse de su ciudad que fue invadida y destruida por los orcos al mando de su rey, Morgoth. Ellos tuvieron que empezar una nueva vida en otro lugar al otro lado del océano. Por mucho tiempo la guerra siguió activa hasta que Morgoth fue derrotado, pero quedó un sustituto llamado Sauron, a quien también se lo cree derrotado y los orcos empezaron a desaparecer, pero no es tan así porque terminan regresando al mando de un elfo llamado Adar. Estos están en busca del verdadero rey, Sauron, y recuperar su tierra llamada Mordor.
The story itself was a bit confusing in the first chapter because it introduced me to a world I had no idea about. Lots of names and things to discover about this place. The first chapter starts by explaining to us what happened in the beginning with Middle-earth and how the Elves had to move from their city which was invaded and destroyed by the orcs under the command of their king, Morgoth. They had to start a new life in another place across the ocean. For a long time the war was active until Morgoth was defeated, but there was a substitute called Sauron, who is also believed to be defeated and the orcs began to disappear, but it is not so because they end up returning under the command of an elf named Adar. They are in search of the true king, Sauron, and recover their land called Mordor.
Galadriel, una famosa elfa guerrera es la que todavía hoy continua con la desesperada búsqueda de estos orcos y de Sauron para vengarse por haber matado a su querido hermano. Ella no cree que ellos hayan desaparecido por sí solos. En su viaje se va a topar con un humano llamado Halbrand, quien le salvara la vida y le revelara la ubicación de los orcos en las Tierras del Sur entre otras cosas, lo que conllevara en una alianza por parte de estos dos. A su vez, ellos van a ser rescatados por un barco de la ciudad de Númenor donde habitan humanos a los que tendrán que convencer de ayudarlos contra la creciente amenaza.
Galadriel, a famous warrior elf is the one who still today continues the desperate search for these orcs and Sauron to take revenge for killing her beloved brother. She does not believe that they have disappeared on their own. On her journey she will meet a human named Halbrand, who will save her life and reveal to her the location of the orcs in the Southlands among other things, which will lead to an alliance between the two of them. In turn, they will be rescued by a ship from the city of Númenor where humans live and they will have to convince them to help them against the growing threat.
También vemos otras tramas que involucran a las otras razas importantes de esta historia.
Los enanos: que son grandes trabajadores de minas. Sus ciudades están construidas por ellos mismos bajo tierra. Hicieron un paraíso subterráneo donde vivir, cuentan con la fuerza y la valentía para hacerlo. Además de tener el don de sentir las vibraciones de las piedras que les indican por dónde es más seguro excavar.
El príncipe heredero al trono de los enanos, Durin, guarda una estrecha amistad con un elfo llamado Elrond. Esta amistad va a ser muy importante a lo largo de los capítulos ya que en las minas de los enanos se esconde un mineral especial que será la clave para ayudar al reino de su amigo elfo.
We also see other plots involving the other important races in this story.
The dwarves: who are great mine workers. Their cities are built by themselves underground. They made a subway paradise to live in, they have the strength and courage to do so. In addition to having the gift of feeling the vibrations of the stones that tell them where it is safer to dig.
The prince heir to the dwarven throne, Durin, has a close friendship with an elf named Elrond. This friendship will be very important throughout the chapters because in the dwarves' mines a special mineral is hidden that will be the key to help his elf friend's kingdom.
Están los pelosos: otros seres diminutos que se mueven en manada y tienen el don de camuflarse con la naturaleza para poder sobrevivir. Son seres inofensivos pero con un corazón puro lleno de empatía (me declare fan de los pelosos desde el minuto 0 de empezado el primer capítulo). Ellos tienen un lema muy importante que es "no camines solo", son criaturas que pasan por insignificantes, pero siento que le aportaron sentimiento a la serie. Es que, en serio, soy fan número 1 de ellos.
Tenemos a Nori Brandipie, una joven pelosa que tiene ansias de aventura y está a la busca de ser más de lo que parecen demostrar los de su especie. Un día ve del cielo caer una estrella y va hacía el lugar donde se va a encontrar con un grandullón inconsciente dentro de un cráter que hizo al impactar contra el suelo. Ella y ese grandullón van a formar un lazo muy fuerte y él será un personaje muy importante para la trama e incluso para la propia vida de Nori y su familia. Esta le enseña cosas a este desconocido y él le enseñará otras.
La historia de esta raza es muy linda. Hay una canción que suelen cantar los pelosos que me conmovió muchísimo. Todavía la recuerdo y lloro. No digan cómo vivo las series, por favor.
There are the furry ones: other tiny beings that move in herds and have the gift of camouflaging themselves with nature in order to survive. They are harmless beings but with a pure heart full of empathy (I declared myself a fan of the hairy ones from minute 0 of the first chapter). They have a very important motto which is "don't walk alone", they are creatures that pass for insignificant, but I feel that they brought feeling to the series. I'm seriously a number 1 fan of them.
We have Nori Brandyfoot, a young furry girl who craves adventure and is on a quest to be more than her kind seem to show. One day she sees a star fall from the sky and goes to the place where she will find a big guy unconscious in a crater he made on impact with the ground. She and this big guy will form a very strong bond and he will be a very important character for the plot and even for the life of Nori and her family. She teaches this stranger things and he will teach her others.
The history of this breed is very cute. There is a song that furries often sing that moved me very much. I still remember it and cry. Don't say how I live the series, please.
Y, por supuesto, están los humanos que viven en las Tierras del Sur. Hay una rivalidad marcada entre humanos y elfos. Los humanos los desprecian porque parece que no quieren sentirse esclavos de ellos. Pero, a pesar de estas diferencias, capítulo a capítulo vamos a ir viendo cómo terminan trabajando en equipo para vencer al enemigo en común: los orcos.
También está el reino de Númenor, el que les mencione más arriba, donde antes vivían los elfos. Al recuperar esas tierras fueron obsequiadas a los humanos con la condición de que siempre se les permitiera la entrada a los elfos, pero en algún punto se rompió ese acuerdo. Pero con la creciente amenaza resucitada van a tener que volver a estrechar lazos.
Me agrada la reina regente, Míriel, se nota que en esta serie no hubo contemplaciones en hacer personajes femeninos fuertes y empoderantes, me gusta ver este cambio. También está Bronwyn, una humana de las tierras del sur que demuestra más valentía que muchos otros. Ella y Arondir, un elfo, van a demostrar que se pueden dejar las diferencias de lado.
And, of course, there are the humans living in the Southlands. There is a marked rivalry between humans and elves. The humans despise them because they don't seem to want to feel enslaved by them. But, despite these differences, chapter by chapter we will see how they end up working as a team to defeat the common enemy: the orcs.
There is also the kingdom of Númenor, the one I mentioned above, where the elves used to live. Upon regaining those lands they were gifted to the humans on the condition that the elves would always be allowed in, but at some point that agreement was broken. But with the rising threat resurrected they are going to have to re-tighten ties.
I like the queen regent, Myriel, you can tell that in this series there was no contemplation in making strong and empowering female characters, I like seeing this change. There is also Bronwyn, a human from the southern lands who shows more bravery than many others. She and Arondir, an elf, go to show that differences can be put aside.
Bueno, como verán hay muchísimas cosas para decir de esta serie. No soy partidaria de hablar capítulo por capítulo, por eso decidí esperar a que terminara para poder hacer una publicación más acordé.
Lo que más me atrajo antes de decidir ver esta serie fue la fotografía que se veía en los teasers y las imágenes promocionales que iban saliendo. Es que la puesta en escena que le hicieron a esta serie está a otro nivel, todo muy bien ambientado. Aparte la musicalización acompaña muy bien a cada una de las escenas donde van cambiando de tramas y vemos las diferentes razas de personajes.
La caracterización de los personajes es otro plus, la belleza etérea que tienen los elfos, que parecen que tuvieran un aura resplandeciente a su alrededor. Las orejas me hubiera gustado que sean un tanto más puntiagudas, pero ese ya es un gusto personal.
Los enanos son tal cual me imaginaba que serían, chiquitos y barbudos (al menos los hombres). Sus viviendas son muy lindas, quien hubiera dicho que se podía tener semejante paisaje bajo tierra.
No tenía idea de que existieran los pelosos, se me hicieron muy adorables con sus cabellos llenos de ramitas, nueces y esos nidos de carancho, su vestimenta y sus tiendas hechas de la misma naturaleza, con musgos y pastos, su estatura pequeñita compite con la de los enanos, solo que estos tienen menos fuerza.
Y bueno, la caracterización de los orcos es sin lugar a dudas la mejor, esas caras feas pueden ser bastante aterradoras.
Well, as you can see there are a lot of things to say about this series. I'm not a fan of talking about each chapter, that's why I decided to wait until the end of the series to be able to make a more accurate publication.
What attracted me the most before deciding to watch this series was the photography that was seen in the teasers and promotional images that were coming out. The staging of this series is at another level, everything is very well set. Besides, the music accompanies very well each of the scenes where they change plots and we see the different races of characters.
The characterization of the characters is another plus, the ethereal beauty of the elves, who seem to have a glowing aura around them. I would have liked the ears to be a bit more pointed, but that's a personal taste.
The dwarves are just as I imagined they would be, small and bearded (at least the men). Their dwellings are very nice, who would have thought that you could have such a landscape underground.
I had no idea that the hairy ones existed, I found them very adorable with their hair full of twigs, nuts and those carancho nests, their clothes and their tents made of the same nature, with mosses and grasses, their tiny stature competes with that of the dwarves, only that these ones have less strength.
And well, the characterization of the orcs is undoubtedly the best, those ugly faces can be quite frightening.
Creo que fue muy jugado tratar de meter 4 tramas al mismo tiempo e intentar que se crucen. Siento que esta primera temporada fue más que nada introductoria. Conocimos a los personajes, sus historias, sus especies, su manera de vivir, algunos conflictos y pum, terminó con una bomba de revelación. Aunque tengo que decir que me lo veía venir, no digo que fuera predecible, pero sí lo sospechaba. Sin embargo, debo decir que no se me hizo aburrida ninguna de ellas, en cada una tenía (y tengo, por suerte) mis personajes favoritos. Aunque siento que es un riesgo tener personajes favoritos en series de esta índole, ya saben a lo que me refiero.
También siento que se me hizo un poco corta, quizá hubiera estado bueno desarrollar las cosas un poco más y darle los respectivos momentos en pantalla a cada trama. Por ejemplo, en el último capítulo de la temporada no aparecieron los enanos, ni tampoco se les hizo mención, y eso que en el penúltimo se vio algo extraño muy por debajo de las minas. Además de lo que aconteció con Durin y su padre, el rey.
Pero en líneas generales disfruté viendo cada capítulo semanal, los esperaba con ganas. Espero que en las próximas temporadas vaya mejorando para bien y podamos seguir viendo más de esta historia.
I think it was very played out trying to cram 4 plots in at the same time and trying to make them intersect. I feel like this first season was mostly introductory. We got to know the characters, their histories, their species, their way of life, some conflicts and bam, it ended with a bombshell reveal. Although I have to say I had it coming, I'm not saying it was predictable, but I did suspect it. However, I have to say that I didn't find any of them boring, in each one I had (and have, luckily) my favorite characters. Although I feel it's a risk to have favorite characters in series of this nature, you know what I mean.
I also feel that it was a little short, maybe it would have been nice to develop things a little more and give the respective moments on screen to each plot. For example, in the last episode of the season the dwarves did not appear, nor were they mentioned, and in the penultimate episode something strange was seen far below the mines. In addition to what happened with Durin and his father, the king.
But in general I enjoyed watching each weekly chapter, I was looking forward to them. I hope that in the next seasons it will improve for the better and we can continue to see more of this story.
