Okay. I saw this movie yesterday, it's based in one of those famous game genres that were really popular in the flash game age. Having you in a closed room, full of hints and making you to interact with everything to find your way out.
In this case a series of random characters with seemingly nothing in common are invited to participate.
From left to right, we have Zoey, a brilliant but overly shy student. Amanda, a tough woman with a temp. Jason, a succesful and somewhat egocentric stocks trader. Ben, a guy with obvious life problems and a bad paid job. Mike, a kind middle aged man that works as a truck driver. And Danny, and enthusiastic guy with experience with escape room games
Suddenly, they realize the game already started and are forced to collaborate if they wanna survive.
The movie its simple. A lot less violent that I expected, being like PG rated while I kinda expected something like Saw. But it was entertaining. The characters are simple but likeable, and the rooms and their dangers are really creative!
HOWEVER. One thing I didnt like, -I wouldnt consider it an spoiler, but beware I guess- the movie intro shows us Ben in a escape room... BY HIMSELF.
It kinda remind me Saw intro scenes, with random people in Jigsaw tests to show us the cruelty of the games.
The bad thing here, is that, this is obviously a flashforward with one of our main characters. So WE KNOW, Ben will survive during all the movie rooms, as long as he is still accompanied by the others.
So yeah, the movie kinda ruined itself by spoiling us this fact. Not sure why taking such decition. Still, I would recommend the movie.
