Soy de esas personas que les gusta mucho ver películas pero casi nunca las he, sin embargo cuando lo hago lo disfruto muchísimo y si la película me gustó pfff pienso en ella durante varios días. Soy muy sentimental y por ello muchas películas suelen marcarme bastante, sin embargo el día de ayer ví una que me dejó reflexionando mucho sobre cómo funciona el mundo por un interés económico. En bastantes ocasiones detrás de una gran belleza puede haber una triste historia, historia que aún sigue siendo parte de la realidad aún, historia que vivieron y viven muchas personas lamentablemente... Diamantes de Sangre, una historia en dónde la belleza y el sufrimiento van de la mano.

Hace muchos años estando en la universidad en una materia de política nos mandaron a ver un documental con el mismo nombre, se llama "Diamantes de Sangre" y se encuentra en Youtube, pueden acceder a el dando click aquí. En el mismo se muestra la realidad que se vive en muchos países del continente africano en torno a la extracción de los minerales y las consecuencias sociales y políticas que trae con ello, en la producción se habla de los diamantes, pero la verdad es que lo podemos utilizar de espejo para poder ver reflejado el mismo escenario con otros tipos de minerales. No obstante ayer me di cuenta que también existía una película la cual desde un primer momento me llamó mucho la atención y la pude ver completa.

Es inevitable no colocarse en los zapatos de un personaje cuando lo interpreta de una manera tan buena que te hace sentir mucha empatía por su situación, sin duda alguna eso me pasó con Solomon Vandy el cual es personificado por Djimon Hounsou un actor que me sorprendió mucho en este papel, anteriormente lo había visto en películas donde era antagonistas casi siempre siendo mafioso o terrorista, no obstante en esta oportunidad lo pude ver en un rol muy distinto y la verdad es que lo interpretó de una manera genial según mi punto de vista, tanto así que en una de las escenas me hizo salir las lágrimas, y es que reflejó lo que es el amor de padre y que los mismos cuando son abnegados son capaces de jamás perder la fe y hacer todo lo posible por su familia.

Por otra parte ví a Leonardo DiCaprio hacer uno de sus mejores papeles en alguna producción cinematográfica, este actor nunca ha sido de mis favoritos pero sus intérpretetacienes en el Lobo de Wall Street y aquí en Diamantes de Sangre dándole vida a Danny Archer me gustaron mucho. Este ex militar y traficante de diamantes me hizo recordar un poco a esa diatriba de "¿El hombre es bueno por naturaleza y la sociedad lo corrompe o es malo por naturaleza a menos que precise ser bueno?".
Diamantes de Sangre es de esas producciones que te ponen a pensar de como muchas veces la vida humana no tiene nada precio y como los gobiernos pueden ser el peor cáncer para una nación. También podemos ver un contraste de lo que se vive dentro de una resistencia, ¿De verdad se busca ser distinto o simplemente acceder al poder para tomar esos lugares?. Siempre va a ser impresionante ver cómo los más inocentes pagan en muchas ocasiones por las excentricidades de los más ricos, y es que hasta sabiendo las atrocidades que se pueden cometer por obtener algún mineral ya sea por un lujo, prestigio, algún aparato de tecnología, entre otros, estos mercados siempre están latentes y su demanda no baja, todo lo contrario. En la película hacen alusión a qué las personas no saben el trasfondo de dónde proviene esos diamantes, pero sabemos bien que en la vida real es todo lo contrario.

Ha sido de las películas que más me han tocado y no solo a mi, ayer estuve conversando con varias amistades sobre ella y me di cuenta que causó mucha empatía en bastante personas, hasta mi sobrina que tiene 15 años lloró con ella.
Es muy controversial que casi todos los países con riqueza natural se encuentran en algún tipo de conflicto político o armado, África ha sido un continente muy marginado por el mundo, vemos muchas propagandas de ayuda y "solidaridad" a esta región de mundo pero al mundo no le conviene que ellos salgan de ese hueco porque se pueden acabar negocios millonarios que para muchos vale las vidas que se pierden.
Solomon es ese personaje que no queremos que nunca muera en el largometraje, uno sufre cada escena fuerte, golpe, lágrima y sensación de desespero. Este actor me hizo sentir en sus zapatos y por eso está película se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas. Se que no es nueva pero tampoco es tan vieja, si alguno no la ha visto aún se la súper recomiendo.

Por último no puedo dejar atrás a otro personaje que tuvo una gran repercusión en la película y es de Jennifer Connelly quien interpreta a Maddy Bowen, una periodista dispuesta a sacar a la luz toda la red de integrantes de está gran mafia; quizás una de las que más sufre sentimental después de Solomon y su familia ya que después de encontrar esa persona que despertó cosas que nunca antes alguien lo había hecho, le toca tenerla solo en el recuerdo y el corazón. De parte de Danny desde un principio hubo interés hasta el final , pero se demostró que las personas correctas pueden despertar en un ser frío y solitario una personalidad empática, cariño y solidaridad.
Lo que más me pega es que es una realidad que aún se vive pero es bueno que hayan sacado esa película para que el mundo tenga una idea de lo difícil que lo pasan naciones como por ejemplo Sierra Leona un país rico en minerales, paisajes, animales y fauna pero que esa misma bendición se convirtió en una maldición.
