You can understand this question depending on your point of view, for example, if we look for a moment at the relatives of the disappeared of the Ayotzinapa case, they would give anything to know the truth of what happened to their young people or for example the Luna Terra case, which is considered the biggest cryptocurrency fiasco of this year, many still yearn to know the truth of what happened. And so there are many more cases where finding the truth is a high priority.

And that's what the Netflix movie is all about: The Stranger starring the best actors, who let's just say they were perfect for these roles, we are talking about Joel Edgerton and Sean Harris, actors who have appeared in other great movies like Mission Impossible, Prometheus, Deliver Us From Evil, The King, Bright, The Darkest Night, among others. The film is a psychological crime thriller, directed by Thomas M. Wright, a brilliant promising Australian filmmaker. The film was based on real events, although some things have been changed out of respect for the victims.
Pero si lo miramos desde el punto de vista de unos padres a quienes su hijo de 13 años desapareció y no se supo absolutamente más nada de él, ni rastros, ni pistas, nada absolutamente nada. Pues entenderemos el gran desespero por saber la verdad, y es que saber la verdad de lo que le paso al joven Daniel Marcombo, que en un estado de Australia hasta se ofreció 1 millón de dólares australianos para saber pistas o algo a que condujera al esclarecimiento de la desaparición o asesinato del joven. Pero nunca se supo nada, hasta casi 8 años después que se encontraron restos y finalmente se pudo dar con el culpable y encontrar la verdad de lo que sucedió.
Y es de eso que trata la película de Netflix: The Stranger protagonizada por los mejores actores, que digamos que fueron perfectos para estos papeles, estamos hablando de Joel Edgerton y Sean Harris, actores que han aparecido en otras grandes películas como Misión imposible, Prometeo, libranos del mal, el rey, bright, la noche más oscura, entre otras. La película tiene como genero el crimen psicológico y suspenso, además es dirigida por Thomas M Wright, una brillante promesa del cine australiano. La película estaba basada en hechos reales, aunque se han cambiado algunas cosas por respeto a las víctimas.
The plot of The Stranger covers the events that took place in Australia, where the police try to solve one of the murders that most shocked the Australian population and for which even 8 years later there are still no answers. Then we see how a police command comes up with the idea of putting different agents undercover to approach Henry Teague who is the main suspect in the murder of a 13 year old boy, but the police never found any evidence about Henry Teague and therefore have never been able to arrest or blame him.
But Henry Teague's life is full of problems since being an ex-convict he can't find a new life easily, taking advantage of that the police create a powerful criminal organization that helps criminals to be able to find a new life in a new country, but everything is handled by the cops. So they commission Mark Frame as a criminal who gains Henry's trust so that he can slowly confess his crimes and bring an end to the murder of this 13 year old boy. But will the police be able to solve the murder? Find out by watching this incredible suspenseful film.
This film, although at first I did not understand it well and halfway through the movie I lost the plot, after watching it a second time I could understand what he wanted to convey and why this case was so important for the Australian police. Henry Teague carried out an almost perfect crime, and the fact that there were no clear answers or a culprit is what gives real emotion to the film, it is the essence. In addition, the plot twists where everything is discovered is also something that attracts a lot of attention.
La trama de The Stranger abarca los sucesos ocurridos en Australia, donde la policía trata de resolver uno de los asesinatos que más a impresionado a la población australiana por la que aun 8 años después siguen sin obtener respuestas. Entonces vemos como a un comando de la policía se le ocurre la idea de poner a diferentes agentes encubiertos para poder acercarse a Henry Teague que es el principal sospechoso del asesinato de un niño de 13 años, pero la policía nunca encontró ninguna prueba sobre Henry Teague y por eso nunca lo han podido arrestar o culpar.
Pero la vida de Henry Teague está llena de problemas ya que al ser un exconvicto no puede encontrar una nueva vida fácilmente, aprovechándose de eso la policía crea una organización criminal poderosa que ayuda a los criminales a poder encontrar una nueva vida en un nuevo país, pero todo es manejado por los policías. Así que encargan a Mark Frame como un criminal que se gana la confianza de Henry para que este vaya poco a poco confesando sus crímenes y se le pueda dar un final al asesinato de este joven de 13 años. ¿Pero lograra la policía resolver el asesinato? Descúbrelo al ver esta increíble película llena de suspenso.
Esta película, aunque en un principio no la entendí bien y a mitad de película perdí el hilo argumental, luego de verla una segunda vez pude entender lo que quería transmitir y porque era tan importante ese caso para la policía australiana. Y es que Henry Teague llevo a cabo un crimen casi perfecto, y el que no hubiera respuestas claras ni un culpable es lo que da verdadera emoción a la película, es la esencia. Además, los giros argumentales que hay donde todo se va descubriendo tambien es algo que llama mucho la atención.
And Sean Harris' performance puts the icing on the cake, if you remember him from movies like Mission Impossible Fallout, he has the same look, but this time he acts like he's a cool guy who wants to leave his past behind, but he hides very well what he really is. And Joel Edgerton, also brings excitement to the plot, as he is a cop who has to stick with a dangerous criminal while living constantly worried about his young son, as the Henry Teague case makes him fear for his son's safety.
Now back to the theme of the beginning, where people seek the truth at all costs. If the case of the Ayotzinapa students is finally told the truth, I believe that if a movie is made that tells all the facts it will be an epic movie, because unlike the case of the murdered boy in 2003 that is shown in this movie, that case only shocked Australia, instead the Ayotzinapa case has kept the whole world in suspense, a world in search of answers about what happened to those students and where they are.

Y la actuación de Sean Harris le coloca la guinda al pastel, si lo recuerdas de películas como Misión imposible Fallout, pues tiene el mismo look, pero en esta ocasión actúa como si fuera un tipo buena onda que quiere dejar su pasado atrás, pero que esconde muy bien lo que realmente es. Y Joel Edgerton, tambien aporta emoción a la trama, ya que es un policía que tiene que mantenerse junto a un peligroso criminal mientras que vive constantemente preocupado por su peque hijo, ya que el caso Henry Teague hace que tema por la seguridad de su hijo.
Ahora volviendo al tema del principio, donde las personas buscan la verdad a toda costa. Si el caso de los estudiantes de Ayotzinapa finalmente se cuenta la verdad, piso que si se hace una película que relate todos los hechos será una película épica, porque a diferencia del caso del niño asesinado en el año 2003 que se muestra en esta película, ese caso únicamente sorprendió a Australia, en cambio el caso de Ayotzinapa ha mantenido en vilo a todo el mundo, un mundo en busca de respuestas sobre que le paso a esos estudiantes y donde están.
