Lo nuevo atrae, pero a veces es bueno recordar esas películas, novelas, historias y series que marcaron nuestras vidas y se mantienen latentes en esa añoranza de los tiempos que no volverán.
Actualmente, las novelas turcas y coreanas abarcan los dispositivos de grandes y chicos; honestamente, no soy de engancharme con alguna de ellas, más allá de una serie corta o película.
Digo actualmente, porque en mi época, sin la ayuda del internet, las únicas novelas que veíamos eran en los canales nacionales. Su horario era de 1 a 4 de la tarde y en la noche desde las 9, pero los niños no podíamos verlas.
Haciendo un resumen, todas las novelas eran lo mismo: la pobre que se enamoraba del rico, se volvía loca, le robaban el hijo y hasta presa iba. Solo en el último capítulo se descubría que también era millonaria y vivían "felices para siempre". Este libreto nos acompañó y nos atrapó, pero en lo particular, a mí me cansaba.
New things attract, but sometimes it is good to remember those movies, novels, stories, and series that marked our lives and remain latent in that longing for times that will not return. Currently, Turkish and Korean novels occupy the devices of adults and children; honestly, I am not one to get hooked on any of them, beyond a short series or movie. I say currently, because in my time, without the help of the internet, the only novels we watched were on national channels. Their schedule was from 1 to 4 in the afternoon and at night from 9, but children could not watch them. To summarize, all the novels were the same: the poor girl who fell in love with the rich man, went crazy, had her child stolen, and even went to prison. Only in the last chapter was it revealed that she was also millionairess, and they lived "happily ever after." This script accompanied and captivated us, but personally, it tired me.
"Las Juanas" vino a revolucionar esa trama sufrida, por algo más fresco y jovial. La novela colombiana hoy sigue causando en mí esa añoranza de unas buenas puestas en escena que pocas veces veo en las propuestas de ahora.
La novela trataba de 5 hermanas que no conocían a su padre y viajan al pueblo de COROZAL a buscarlo; todas coincidían en que se llamaban Juana y allí se desenvuelve toda la novela. Lo primero que atrajo es que no trataba de una sola protagonista, sino de 5. Ciertamente, Juana Valentina (Angie Cepeda) llevaba la batuta, pero todas las demás tenían protagonismo.
La segunda razón por la que gustó en todo el público, sobre todo el joven, es que "TODAS QUERÍAMOS SER ALGUNA JUANA". La razón era que todas tenían una profesión, oficio o vocación distinto a la costumbre de las novelas. Una era monja, otra boxeadora, una tarotista y la otra cantante. Todas lindas y jóvenes, así que queríamos ser como ellas: atrevidas, desafiantes, luchadoras, valientes y muy amorosas entre ellas y con los demás.
Por ser jóvenes, las figuras masculinas estuvieron presentes y de qué manera; todas queríamos de novios a esos hombres amorosos, detallistas y que no opacaron las actuaciones principales de las mujeres. Hoy en día, son unos actores de renombre, pero hacen papeles ya de padres de familia, así que los disfrutamos en sus "épocas doradas".
Si sigo enumerando las razones por las que me gustó la novela "LAS JUANAS", debo decir que yo era muy niña, así que las escenas de amor no me llamaban mucho la atención; de igual forma, la transmitían en el horario de la tarde, así que carecía de este tipo de escena. Lo que distinguía y atraía era cada uno de los enredos en los que se metían y las formas de resolverlos con jocosidad, apostando por los talentos de cada una y siempre con alegría y creatividad.
"Las Juanas" came to revolutionize that suffering plot, for something fresher and more youthful. The second reason why it was liked by the entire audience, especially the young, is that "WE ALL WANTED TO BE SOME JUANA." The reason was that all of them had a profession, trade, or vocation different from the usual in novels. One was a nun, another a boxer, one a tarot reader, and another a singer. All beautiful and young, so we wanted to be like them: daring, challenging, fighters, brave, and very loving toward each other and others. Being young, the male figures were present—and how they were; we all wanted those loving, thoughtful men as boyfriends, who did not overshadow the main performances of the women. Today, they are renowned actors, but they play roles of fathers now, so we enjoy them in their "golden ages." If I keep listing the reasons why I liked the novel "LAS JUANAS," I must say that I was very young, so the love scenes did not catch my attention much; similarly, it was broadcast in the afternoon, so it lacked this type of scene. What stood out and attracted attention were each of the entanglements they got into and the ways of resolving them with humor, relying on each one's talents and always with joy and creativity.
Entre algunas de las escenas que recuerdo fueron las de competencias de baile para ganar dinero, la llegada de ferias donde trabajaban leyendo cartas; en una oportunidad se cambiaron las personalidades y creo que fue un reto artístico para todas las Juanas, pero lo hicieron excelente. Incluso, en una oportunidad se apareció ¡hasta el diablo! y ellas supieron alejarlo con amor. Esas y otras aventuras se desarrollaron en la novela y todas fueron totalmente interesantes.
Por supuesto que ellas no estaban solas, tenían aliados y aliadas, así como las villanas naturales de toda novela, pero se sentía tan natural la novela, que todos comentábamos cómo saldrían de cada una de las situaciones que se le presentaban.
Por último, el amor es el principal motor que mueve al mundo; Juana Valentina no la tuvo fácil con respecto al amor, en comparación con sus hermanas, y fue superinteresante el planteamiento que se hizo al final (que no les voy a contar), pero digno de toda la paradoja e ironías con las que a veces nos trata la vida.
La mayoría de sus protagonistas hizo vida en otros países, como en el caso de Rafael Novoa (Rubén Calixto en la novela), quien protagonizó años después nuestro país y fue igual de exitoso. Por eso pienso que Las Juanas fue una oportunidad para exportar su talento y actuación a otras fronteras. ¡FELICIDADES POR ELLO!
Among some of the scenes I remember were the dance competitions to win money, the arrival of fairs where they worked reading cards; on one occasion they swapped personalities and I think it was an artistic challenge for all the Juanas, but they did it excellently. Of course, they were not alone, they had allies, as well as the natural villains of any novel, but the novel felt so natural, that we all commented on how they would get out of each of the situations that presented themselves. in our country and it was just as successful. Buscando algunas de las imágenes para complementar la publicación, me encontré con una versión del 2021 de Netflix llamada "La venganza de las Juanas". ¿La vería? De tener tiempo, sí, porque sabiendo cómo se manejan las cosas audiovisualmente en esta plataforma, prefiero quedarme con la versión original y recomendarles ver una novela muy pintoresca y sin tanta tensión, ya que novelas como esa, creo que muy pocas, pero me alegro de poder verla en la época que se dio.

If I had time, yes, because knowing how things are handled audiovisually on this platform, I prefer to stick with the original version and recommend you watch a very picturesque novel without so much tension, since novels like that, I think very few exist, but I’m glad to be able to watch it in the time it was released.
