I have finished watching the second season of Shadow and Bone, and I must say that after so long, the wait has been worth it; I told you a little about what I thought of this series in its first season in this post, I saw the first season in 2021 by chance, let's say that the laziness of the confinement had me looking for options and I came to it without many expectations, something that changed with this long-awaited second season, Although it premiered in the middle of this month of March, I just saw it these last two days, and it is that it definitely managed to catch me again, and this is something that few series did. And Bone and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, I did not like I haven't read any of these yet, so over there, let's say I don't know much about what to expect from the series, so I'll talk about what I thought of this second season compared to the first.
The dreams and nightmares of Alina, Santa Alina or The Summoner of the Sun, as she is also called in the series, played by Jessie Mei Li, each time they become more vivid, and premonitory, which causes him anguish, which he manifests to Malyen "Mal" Oretsev The Seeker, played by and with whom since the beginning of this second season the romance can be noticed. As they flee from General Kirigan/The Darkling, played by Ben Barnes, the latter being the best known in the plot, for his performances as Caspian in a couple of installments of the trilogy of Narnia, or Dorian Gray, After in the last chapter of season 1, Alina has taken the Darkling's amplifier, and she thought he had died, he returns with a dark army, eager for revenge and eager to find her to so that he can again amplify his great power.
Alina and Mal discover that the nightmares are just visions that she has been having, and she also finds out that she has to find other amplifiers, so that she can definitively end the shadow and the Darkling, this is how they meet new characters within the plot, the twin brothers, Tamar and Tolya Yul-Bataar played by Anna Leong Brophy and Lewis Tan respectively, who are faithful friends and crew of the Hummingbird, of which Nikolai Lantsov (Patrick Gibson) is a captain, and who offers to help Alina and Mal find the other two amplifiers and thus be able to defeat the Darkling, posing as a simple ship captain, so who they later find out, is the prince of Ravka and that unlike his family, he feels affection for the Grisha.
At the end of the first season, Alina understood that it was not necessary to kill the creatures in order to obtain their power, so it is one of the premises that she has and that she maintains until the end, when the story takes a big turn, leaving to see Mal's true lineage, and where thanks to a discovery by Baghra Zoë Wanamaker, history has an unexpected turn, which gives a touch of spice to the plot. Making Alina have to make difficult and even improper decisions, which will undoubtedly give rise to a third season.
The fight between the two summoners is expected towards the end of the season, and it has its dramatic touches, I could not expect less from this one, let's say that we suffer a little with it, but as always the good triumphs, or at least that is what many believe after this one. Strategic alliances are not long in coming, another marriage proposal comes to Alina, but this one, more out of love than out of interest, from Prince Nikolai (here among us, I would have said yes to the first one). After this marriage proposal, which is accepted for the good of the Grisha and in order to save their lineage, leads to the climax of the season, a surprise attack by the Nichevo'ya, shadow monsters, created by Kirigan and acting in their defense, which set a pattern that will probably be developed in the next installment of the season.
Bonds are strengthened between some characters of the first season, new characters appear that came to stay and that surely will be part of a third season, since the end of the same leaves many possible scenarios for the same, some crows strengthened with two new members, Alina made friends who were already in the first season, but that are a crucial part of this second installment, romances that are consolidated and others that remain open to possibly materialize in another season, let's say that, many things are understood that were not clear in the first season, and certainly leaves us with many more questions that we hope will be cleared in a next part.
Filmed in Hungary, taking locations of royal palaces, and aristocratic houses for the interior scenes and some altered with the help of special effects, this is a series that shows us an impeccable scenography, excellent lighting and photography, and that will surely keep you entertained throughout its 8 chapters. I give this season a 9 out of 10, I won't give it a 10, since I haven't read the books yet (I've been waiting for two years and I still haven't finished it), so I don't have a point of comparison, but I must say that I was in love and I'm looking forward to a third season soon.

Me he terminado de ver la segunda temporada de Sombra y Hueso, y debo decir que después de tanto tiempo, la espera ha valido la pena; les conté un poco de lo que opinaba de esta serie en su primera temporada en este post, vi la primera temporada en 2021 por casualidad, digamos que la pereza del confinamiento me tenía buscando opciones y llegue a ella sin muchas expectativas, algo que cambio con esta tan esperada segunda temporada, que aunque estreno a mediados de este mes de marzo, recién la vi estos últimos dos días, y es que en definitiva logro atraparme nuevamente, y esto es algo que pocas series logran. También les cuento que aunque esta serie está basada en los libros Shadow and Bone y Six of Crows de Leigh Bardugo, no me he leído aun ninguno de estos, así que por allí, digamos que no se mucho que es lo que hay que esperar de la serie, entonces, hablare sobre lo que me pareció esta segunda temporada con respecto a la primera.
Los sueños y pesadillas de Alina, Santa Alina o La Invocadora del Sol, como tambien le llaman en la serie, interpretada por Jessie Mei Li, cada vez se hacen más vividos, y premonitorios, lo que le causa angustia, misma que le manifiesta a Malyen "Mal" Oretsev El Buscador, interpretado por y con quien desde el comienzo de esta segunda temporada se puede notar el romance. Mientras huyen del General Kirigan/El Darkling, interpretado por Ben Barnes, siendo este último, el más conocido de la trama, por sus actuaciones como Caspian en un par de entregas de la trilogía de Narnia, o Dorian Gray, Luego de que en el último capítulo de la temporada 1, Alina le haya quitado el amplificador al Darkling y ella pensara que había muerto, este regresa con un ejército oscuro, con ansias de venganza y muchas ganas de encontrarla para así poder nuevamente amplificar su gran poder.
Alina y Mal descubren que las pesadillas son solo visiones que ella ha estado teniendo, y además se entera que tiene que encontrar otros amplificadores, para de esta manera ella poder acabar definitivamente con la sombra y con el Darkling, es así como se encuentran con nuevos personajes dentro de la trama, los hermanos gemelos, Tamar y Tolya Yul-Bataar interpretados por Anna Leong Brophy y Lewis Tan respectivamente, quienes son fieles amigos y tripulación del Hummingbird, del cual Nikolai Lantsov (Patrick Gibson) es capitán, y quien ofrece ayudar a Alina y Mal a encontrar los otros dos amplificadores y de esta manera poder derrotar al Darkling, haciéndose pasar por un simple capitán de barco, de quien más adelante se enteran, es el príncipe de Ravka y que a diferencia de su familia, siente afecto por los Grisha.
Alina en el final de la primera temporada, entendió que no era necesario matar a las criaturas para poder obtener su poder, así que es una de las premisas que tiene y que mantiene hasta el final, cuando la historia da un giro bastante grande, dejando ver el verdadero linaje de Mal, y en donde gracias a un descubrimiento de Baghra Zoë Wanamaker, la historia tiene un giro inesperado, que le da un toque de picante a la trama. Haciendo que Alina tenga que tomar decisiones difíciles e incluso indebidas, que sin duda darán origen a una tercera temporada.
La pelea entre los dos invocadores se hace esperar hacia el final de la temporada, y la misma tiene sus toques dramáticos, no podía esperar menos de esta, digamos que se sufre un poco con ella, pero como siempre el bien triunfa, o al menos eso es lo que muchos creen después de esta. Alianzas estratégicas no se hacen esperar, otra propuesta de matrimonio le llega a Alina, pero esta, más que por interés es por amor, de parte del Príncipe Nikolai (aquí entre nos, yo le fuera dicho que si a la primera). Luego de esa propuesta de matrimonio que es aceptada por el bien de los Grisha y en pro de salvar su estirpe, lleva a la parte más álgida de la temporada, un ataque sorpresivo de los Nichevo'ya, monstruos de la sombra, creados por Kirigan y que actúan en su defensa, y que marcan una pauta que probablemente se desarrollara en una próxima entrega de la temporada.
Se fortalecen lazos entre algunos personajes de la primera temporada, aparecen nuevos personajes que llegaron a quedarse y que seguramente formaran parte de una tercera temporada, puesto que el final de la misma deja muchos posibles escenarios para la misma, unos cuervos fortalecidos con dos nuevos integrantes, Alina hizo amigas que ya estaban en la primera temporada, pero que forman parte crucial de esta segunda entrega, romances que se consolidan y otros que quedan abiertos para posiblemente concretarse en otra temporada, digamos que, se entienden muchas cosas que no nos quedaron claros en la primera temporada, y sin duda alguna nos deja con muchas más incógnitas que esperamos sean despejadas en una próxima parte.
Filmada en Hungría, tomando locaciones de palacios reales, y casas aristocráticas para las escenas de interiores y algunos alterados con la ayuda de efectos especiales, esta es una serie que nos muestra una escenografía impecable, una excelente iluminación y fotografía, y que seguramente los mantendrá entretenidos a lo largo de sus 8 capítulos. Le doy un 9 de 10 a esta temporada, no le daré el 10, puesto que aún no me he leído los libros (ya son dos años esperando y no lo termino de hacer), por lo que no tengo un punto de comparación, pero debo decir que quede enamorada y con ganas de que pronto llegue una tercera temporada.
