Hmmm... peculiares que he visto recientemente, y que deja a uno con más dudas que respuestas, y con esa imperante necesidad de verla una segunda vez para entender mejor lo que sucede en la trama y en el argumento, y bueno, todo en general, Donnie Darko, estrenada en el 2001, es una película que combina bastantes elementos de distintos géneros para condensarlo en algo que mayormente trata de ficción pero que se entrelaza con muchas cosas más que intentare explicar de la mejor forma en el resumen, pero antes de empezar, recomiendo que la vean primero, creo que esta película se disfruta mejor si no se tiene idea de ello, yo vine con otras expectativas y bueno, digamos que me gusto que lo que me encontré fuera algo totalmente diferente y fuera de lo común.

La pelicula comienza centrandose en Donnie Darko, nuestro protagonista, quien tan solo viendolo unos minutos, podemos intuir que muy cuerdo del todo no esta, ya que pues para empezar, se despierta en medio de una carretera tirado en el suelo y con aspecto de haber pasado toda la noche ahi hasta el amanecer, al volver a casa, conocemos a su familia, conformada por su padre, su madre y 2 hermanas, una familia promedio en toda regla, pero la que parece ser que nuestro chico, destaca de mala manera por ser demasiado honesto y muy insistente con ciertos temas, comportamientos que suman nuestras sospechas a cuestionar su sanidad mental y que se confirman cuando se revela, que ha dejado de tomar su "medicamento" Donnie entonces decide irse a dormir, pero a mitad de la noche empieza a escuchar como una voz lo llama y siguiendola, casi hipnotizado, sale de su casa y se encuentra con lo que parece ser un conejo humanoide que tiene una calavera por cara, evidentemente esto es un disfraz pero al principio no es raro dudar si esto es un mounstruo de verdad o algo mas que no conocemos, pero el caso es, que este ente, le dice a Donnie que en 28 días y 6 horas, con 42 minutos y 12 segundos, se acabara el mundo, dejándolo confundido.

Donnie Darko es probablemente la película más rara que he visto sobre viajes en el tiempo recientemente, pero no puedo negar que tiene un toque extraño, particular o diferente, que la hace "una rareza entretenida" el misterio y la intriga es lo que te vive manteniendo interesado en la historia, pero tambien destaco la excelente actuación del protagonista, Jake Gyllenhaal, que en todo momento te vende esta imagen de eser una persona retraída socialmente, con quizas algunos problemas mentales que podrían ser bastante peligrosos y en ocasiones, en sentirse como un psicópata que esta a punto de salir del cascaron, sin embargo, creo que hay varias cosas que pueden ser bastante mejorables, como la propia historia o los argumentos de los viajes en el tiempo, que si bien son interesantes, creo que les falto algo más para dejarlo mejor explicado.

Ahora, ¿Ese fue el verdadero final de la pelicula? ¿Es todo un bucle temporal? ¿Frank si fue una persona y no un ente como podríamos pensar al principio?, la verdad es que la película te deja muchas dudas, y creo que eso es lo que busca, para mi no tiene mucho sentido que el propio Frank, siendo tan solo un chico que arrollo a su novia, tenga tantos conocimientos sobre viajes en el tiempo, y sobre la vida del propio Donnie, para mi tiene más sentido, que esta sea una representación de la mente alterada del protagonista que en un universo paralelo entendió como es que funcionan los agujeros de gusano y los viajes en el tiempo, por otro lado, también podría ser un ente que disfruta colocar en bucles temporales a personas trastornadas o con problemas sociales, para que eventualmente se den cuenta de su influencia y su presencia, adoptando forma de eventos traumaticos, especular sobre cual es el verdadero significado de la película, creo que es la razón por la que se ha ganado tanto cariño y aprecio por parte de críticos y escritores, es una historia original, turbia y oscura que mezcla todo tipo de cosas que van desde el humor negro hasta el romance tragico, ¡No todos los dias te cuentan una historia asi!

Creo que Donnie Darko es el resultado de la combinación entre ciencia ficción y un monton de generos entre lo que podriamos incluir, suspneso, terror, romance, drama, con tintes de tragedia y algo de comedia, me encantaría decir que se las recomiendo a todos, pero no creo que esta pelicula sea apta para todo el mundo, especialmente por la densidad de los temas que aborda, que a veces se quedan un poco inexplorados y con una esta sensación de que te quieren confundir porque si, pero ya al final y viendola de nuevo, es que te das cuenta de ciertos detalles que le dan sentido a la historia, te diria que la vieras si no tienes nada pendiente por ver y si quieres ver algo que te va a dejar cuestionándote cuantas neuronas tienes en verdad, me ha gustado la película, aunque no creo que sea una obra maestra como algunos fans la pintan.
