¡Buenas mis estimados cinéfilos y seguidores del terror! espero que se encuentren bien y tenga algo de tiempo en su agenda, porque hoy vamos a hablar de unas de las obras del terror más recientes e interesantes que han salido en los últimos tiempos, Midsommar, una historia cargada de simbolismo, tragedia, drama pero que principalmente se enfoca en el duelo y en la depresión, antes que nada, una advertencia, no recomiendo ver esta película si estas pasando por un momento difícil ahora mismo, por lo que te recomiendo consumir otro tipo de contenido u otro tipo de historias, dicho esto, comencemos a ir explorando el contenido de la pelicula, evitando dar spoilers para el que no la ha visto todavía.

La película comienza con la protagonista, Dani Ardor, revisando sus mensajes en la computadora, y conversando con la que parece ser su hermana, el mensaje que recibe de ella es bastante triste pero ambiguo, mencionado que "Ya no puede soportarlo más, que sus padres también vendrán con ella, adiós." este mensaje obviamente preocupa mucho a Dani, intenta comunicarse con sus padres, pero no puede, y poco a poco Dani empieza a quebrarse, después intenta llamar a su novio, que, al parecer, hace tiempo que no se siente cómodo estando con Dani y planteándose dejarla pronto, sin embargo, al enterarse de la noticia de sus padres y su hermana, a Christian no le queda mas remedio que apoyar a Dani a superar el duelo por el que esta pasando.

Este sitio, es la definición de mientras mas te quedes mirando, más cosas extrañas vas a encontrar, a pesar de ello, el grupo se va a atribuyendo estas extrañezas a la propiedad de comuna al que pertenecen los Harga, por ende intentan seguir poco a poco con el tour, a medida que pasan los minutos, se nota a Pelle mucho mas cercano a Dani, haciéndole dibujos e intentando hacerla sentir mas comoda, Dani, a pesar de sus traumas y dificultades, va empezando a tomar más confianza, hasta que llega la escena por las que mas va a ser recordada esta película.

Uno puede presenciar cosas horrendas pero lo que vio Dani y sus compañeros fue simplemente traumatizante a niveles muy extremos, creo que todos los que somos fanáticos del terror podemos entender porque a esta película se la suele comparar algunas veces con Hereditary y es que la crudeza de algunas de sus escenas, hacen que simplemente intentes apartar la mirada de la pantalla, Todos los forasteros que presenciaron el acto, especialmente Dani, se ven profundamente horrorizados, intentando calmarla Pelle la convence para que se quede unos días más y no se deje influenciar por un acto que los Harga consideran natural.

A partir de aquí la película va a deformando nuestra primera impresión al entrar al dominio de los Harga, que sin dudas es un lugar hermoso en su paisaje, pero que oculta practicas horribles, que van desde el paganismo hasta la brujeria, a pesar de ello, casi todo se convierte en un subtitulo cuando se ven los minutos finales de la pelicula, es muy dificil relatar todo sin dar spoilers o adivinar que es lo que puede pasar en el tramo final, pero sinceramente, lo que hicieron aquí fue espectacular y necesario, ante un cine de terror que se veía genérico, repetitivo y falto de creatividad.

Aunque no pueda revelar toda la opinión sincera que tengo de esta película, sin caer en darles demasiada información a los que no la han visto todavía, considero que Midsommar, es una excelente pelicula de terror, pero con carencias evidentes, como un ritmo bastante pausado, que se toma su tiempo para contarte la historia, algo que no gusta a muchos y que particularmente a mi, se me hizo algo pesado, pero me parece necesario, pues lo que nos muestran es tanto fascinante como aterrador, honestamente, no recuerdo la ultima vez que vi un culto pagano que me fascinara tanto en una pelicula, por lo que en ese sentido la pelicula consigue su objetivo, el interesarte por los Harga y su cultura que roza lo bizarro y lo horrendo con practicas que se hacían en alta edad media, Midsommar no es una pelicula para todo el mundo, y es dificil recomendarla a un publico general, sin embargo, creo que es una joya del terror en los ultimos tiempos que merece una oportunidad por parte de los espectadores, véanla, pero sean conscientes de su contenido mas difícil de digerir, el duelo y las rupturas entre las relaciones cercanas.
