¡Bienvenidos otra vez mis panas cinefilos! espero que se encuentren muy bien y con ganas de comenzar esta semana con un filme violento, porque volveremos a los 80s esta vez a finales de la década, a presenciar el nacimiento de otra gran figura del cine de ciencia ficción y de la acción, les hablo ni más ni menos que de Robocop, el policía del futuro, el vigilante de metal, el oficial que no descansa, la maquina que patrullará Detroit en busca de criminales y de su propia identidad como individuo en el proceso, Antes de comenzar, una advertencia, Robocop, pese a tener más de 35 años de ser estrenada, cuenta con unas escenas muy violentas e incluso grotescas para la epoca, tómenlo en cuenta, pues también comentaré estos detalles, sin más que decir, comencemos.

La película comenzará con dos periodistas comentando las noticias del mundo de Robocop, colocándonos en el panorama del mundo pero lo que nos interesa, es la situación que vive la ciudad de Detroit, donde el líder del crimen organizado en la "vieja" Detroit tiene azotada a la ciudad y especialmente a los policías, sumando ya 31 policías asesinados, otro dato muy interesante y que es una de las características de la película, es que al parecer los cuerpos de oficiales están siendo administrados por una compañía multinacional llamada OCP, que esta encargada de dirigir los esfuerzos de la policía, durante las primeras escenas, se van a notar (y mucho) las dificultades que tiene la policía para hacerse cargo de toda la ola de crímenes que ocurren en la ciudad, así como su incapacidad de atender a situaciones urgentes, terminaran causando el nacimiento de uno de los iconos del cine, pero aun falta para ese evento, continuemos.

Para dicho proyecto, se va necesitar un "desafortunado" y ese no es otro que Murphy, que tras perseguir a la banda de Clarence Boddicker hasta un complejo industrial luego de realizar un atraco, tiene que encarar a los mafiosos solo con el apoyo de su compañera, esta ultima resulta noqueada por uno de los mafiosos, y Murphy capturado por Clarence, por desgracia para el policía, Clarence es conocido por asesinar brutalmente a todos los policías que se cruzan con el y es justamente lo que hace con Murphy, primero volandole una mano, luego, dejandoselo a su banda para que lo ejecuten a tiro de escopeta, y finalmente, rematandolo Clarence, dándole el tiro de gracia, para dejar la escena, su compañera fue testigo del traumatico incidente, pero no pudo hacer nada para ayudarlo, limitándose solo a llamar una ambulancia al lugar.

El proyecto Robocop siempre fue pensado como un producto más de una compañia, y no como experimento que contempla la parte humana que integra la maquina, esto se refleja bien en las palabras de Dick Jones, afirmando que RObocop es tan solo un producto, y como todo producto este tiene un contrato o en este caso, una serie de reglas que no puede romper, entre las cuales se encuentra una directiva clasificada llamada directiva 4, que le impide arrestar a otros agentes o miembros de la OCP, es por esto que Robocop tiene un falla en su sistema, retorciéndose, cosa que aprovecha Jones para enfrentar al agente de titanio contra su propia creación, el ED-209, sere franco con mi opinión, el ED-209 lo hizo mierda al pobre Robocop salvándose de su acoso solo porque la maquina de Jones, al parecer no esta diseñada para bajar escaleras, sin embargo, afuera de las instalaciones no tiene mayor suerte, esperandole una tropa entera de oficiales de policía, rodeandolo y con ordenes de disparar a matar, algunos protestan por dispararle a quien hasta ahora ha estado combatiendo el crimen, pero el oficial a cargo no les hace caso a las protestas y fulminan a balazos al pobre Robocop, arrastrándose como puede, cae por varios pisos, hasta encontrarse de frente con la oficial Lewis, quien ya esta segura de que este es Murphy, Robocop no emite palabra pero extiende su mano suplicando ayuda a la oficial, cosa que justamente hace y escapa de las instalaciones de la OCP.

Robocop es una de las grandes obras que colocaron el cine de accion y ciencia ficcion en lo mas alto, pero a diferencia de otros ejemplos la satira y polemica que cargaba esta pelicula estaban a otro nivel de ya visto, de la misma cinta se pueden extraer muchos mensajes, el mundo casi canibal de los directivos pasando por encima de otros para estar en la cima, una violenta policia que no escatima en usar la violencia, criminales seriamente armados por las calles, y algo mas profundo, el complejo dilema de hasta que punto somos humanos, donde termina el humano y comienza la maquina, dotada u muy buen argumento y una excelente dirección pese al bajo presupuesto, Robocop se convirtio en todo un éxito del cine, multiplicando casi 5 veces su prespuesto original, es una gran película que a pesar de ser algunas veces absurda, se puede tomar muy enserio por la construcción y complejidad de sus mensajes y su trama, si son fan de la ciencia ficcion indudablemente recomiendo que la vean mis panas, ¡Gracias por acompañarme hoy!
