Over the years that I've been following the plot of Anne with an E, I've come to realize that not everyone loves this series as much as I do, and I'm surprised that something as heartwarming wouldn't appeal to someone else. That's the word I use every time I refer to Anne with an E: heartwarming. I don't describe it that way because it made me cry (which, of course, managed to bring a few tears out of me), but more because of the feeling of tranquility and greatness it leaves in the heart.
For those who haven't seen it, the TV show is about an orphan who has finally been adopted again, after being with a family whose only reason for being there was to work tirelessly caring for the fruits of that marriage. She was adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, who were surprised to see her because they were not expecting a girl, but a boy to help with the forced labor as age took its toll on the two relatives.

The first season will show us who Anne is and how her life, because of her orphan status, has not been the perfect childhood of any child. Constantly trying to convince Marilla and Matthew that she can be of as much use as the boy they wanted, she makes mistakes that bring her more trouble, living then in fear that at some point she will be taken back to the orphanage.
The main reason for my appreciation of this TV show is, of course, because of the main character. I identify so much with the main character that I sometimes feel mirrored in her. Anne talks to herself, she is very expressive, she loves to live in a
world of fiction and getting lost in the stories she creates in her head. I tend to do that too, so seeing it on screen gives me some embarrassment and pleasure.

Anne is weird sometimes, but I love it.She never stops being herself throughout the series, she has no need to fit in and be liked by others. That's why she's so appreciative of the people who stay with her. Also, the abuse and trauma she had to live through lets us see another side of her, a more vulnerable and real side than the one she shows us when she tells her stories.
Although the series bears her name, not necessarily everything will revolve around her, as we will also learn the stories behind Marilla and Matthew, the financial difficulties they have had to face in a hard time, why they never married and how Anne's arrival may have changed their lives and their hearts, we'll see if for better or for worse.
We will also, of course, have other characters who became involved with Anne, either to be her friends or her enemies. In any hostile environment, you will always find at least one friend and that was Anne's fortune. However, she is a girl who doesn't have the best of luck on many occasions, so she will be forced to say goodbye to them from time to time.
Anne with an E is set in Prince Edward Island in the year 1896, so we will be able to observe beautiful landscapes accompanied by a soundtrack very much in keeping with the essence of the TV show. The costumes, on the other hand, are also exquisite and in keeping with the era.
Anne with an E has 3 seasons, with a total of 27 episodes, so there's no reason to at least take a look at its first season. I feel a bit sorry to encourage you to watch this show when it was unfairly cancelled for ratings reasons on audiences of a certain age, being then incomplete in many ways, but it's still worth sitting down to watch something as sweet and touching as Anne with an E.

En estos años que he seguido la trama de Anne with an E, me he dado cuenta que a no todos les encanta esta serie como a mí y me sorprende que algo tan conmovedor no le sea de agrado a una persona. Esa es la palabra que utilizo cada vez que me refiero a Anne with an E: conmovedora. No la describo así porque me haya hecho llorar (que, por supuesto, logró sacarme unas cuantas lágrimas), sino más por el sentimiento de tranquilidad y grandeza que deja en el corazón.
Para aquellos que no la han visto, la serie trata sobre una huérfana que, por fin, ha sido adoptada de nuevo, luego de estar con una familia cuya única razón para estar allí era trabajar incansablemente cuidando los frutos de aquel matrimonio. Fue adoptada por Marilla y Matthew Cuthbert, quienes quedaron sorprendidos al verla porque no esperaban a una niña, sino a un niño para ayudar en los trabajos forzosos mientras que la edad le pasaba factura a los dos hermanos.

La primera temporada nos mostrará quién es Anne y cómo su vida, por su condición de huérfana, no ha sido la perfecta infancia de cualquier niña. Constantemente tratando de convencer a Marilla y Matthew que puede ser de tanta utilidad como el niño que querían, comete errores que le traen más problemas, viviendo entonces con el temor de que en algún momento la llevarán de vuelta al orfanato.
La principal razón de mi aprecio a esta serie es, por supuesto, por la protagonista. Me identifico tanto con el personaje principal que a veces me siento reflejada en ella. Anne habla sola, es muy expresiva, le encanta vivir en un
mundo de ficción y perderse en las historias que crea en su cabeza. Yo también suelo hacer eso, así que verlo en la pantalla me da algo de vergüenza y agrado.

Anne es rara a veces, pero me encanta. No deja de ser ella misma en toda la serie para encajar y agradarle a los demás. Por eso aprecia tanto a las personas que se quedan con ella. Además, el maltrato y los traumas que tuvo que vivir nos deja ver otro lado de ella, un lado más vulnerable y real que el que nos demuestra cuando cuenta sus historias.
Aunque la serie lleve su nombre, no necesariamente todo girará en torno a ella, pues también sabremos las historias detrás de Marilla y Matthew, las dificultades financieras que han tenido que enfrentar en una época dura, el por qué no se casaron nunca y cómo la llegada de Anne ha podido cambiar sus vidas y sus corazones, ya veremos si para bien o para mal.
También, por supuesto, tendremos a otros personajes que se involucraron con Anne, ya sea para ser sus amigos o sus enemigos. En todo ambiente de hostilidad, siempre encontrarás al menos un amigo y esa fue la fortuna de Anne. Sin embargo, es una niña que no tiene la mejores de las suertes en muchas ocasiones, así que se verá obligada a despedirse de vez en cuando de ellos.
Anne with an E está ambientado en Prince Edward Island en el año 1896, así que seremos capaces de observar hermosos paisajes acompañados de un soundtrack muy acorde a la esencia de la serie. Los vestuarios, por otro lado, también son exquisitos y acordes a la época.
