THE PEAKY BLINDERS
I had seen famous Thomas Shelby quotes on Twitter, and the tweets had gotten a lot of likes and reviews. I read majority of them and quite enjoyed them and I knew about Peaky Blinders from twitter. I was hesitant to watch the TV series since I had heard that overly touted films never end well, so I avoided it, only to have a close friend recommend the TV show to me.It seemed like Peaky Blinders must have chosen me to watch the show.
NOTABLE NAMES AND INTRODUCTION
- Thomas Shelby acted by Cillian Murphy
- Polly Gray acted by Helen McCrory
- Arthur Shelby acted by Paul Anderson
- Ada Shelby acted by Sophie Rundle
The Shelby's Family runs a gang-related family business in the television series. After the First World War, the family company began. The company's headquarters are in Birmingham, but the family is looking to expand its operations beyond the city. I'd describe the Shelby family as both disorganized and united at the same time. The great Thomas Shelby is the mastermind of the Shelby Family Business, while his brother Arthur Shelby is the "Military Head" of the Family. I consider Ada Shelby to be the family's wisest member, while Aunt Polly served as the children's parental guardian.
The TV show revolves around familial love, crime, politics, magic, exploitations, godfatherism, treachery, love, and a never-ending quest for expansion. Despite their unorganized nature, the Shelbys are always confronted with multiple challenges from various foes, and they always find a way to win.
THE STORY WRITING REVIEW
The first episode of season one was the most aggravating episode of any film I've ever seen. It was perplexing; there were too many questions on my mind, and I felt disturbed. For some reason, Thomas Shelby was having war memories, Arthur seemed ruthless, Ada was less well-known, and Aunt Polly had a strong presence. On oepisode one, I recall sleeping off.
Guess what???
The frustrating episode served as a means to unlocking the incredible depth of creative movie scripting in later episodes. The writers were able to confuse me while gradually disclosing the genuine names of the cast and explaining what the series is based on. It's a world-class writing skill, in my opinion the best for a gangster family-related series and a refreshing change from the norm.
WHY DO I LIKE PEAKY BLINDERS?
The reason I liked Peaky Blinders was because it was a fictional idea that felt extremely real to me. The television series exemplifies what the actual meaning of "Family" should be: an unending affection for one another. I liked how they might be disorganized, with few people or decisions, but when it came time to be united, they were unstoppable. Thomas Shelby was the brains behind the family's prosperity. I admired him for being courageous, confident, nasty when necessary, and full of surprises. The quotes in the TV series were incredible; they reminded me of Tyrion Lannister's fantastic quotes from Game of Thrones.Thomas Shelby had so many quotes for every occasion that it wasn't just a matter of reading them in the film. These were actual quotes for real life.
PARTS OF THE TV SHOW THAT I DON'T LIKE
I was relieved that Ada Shelby had shown little interest in assisting the family business. Ada Shelby is a brilliant woman who, like Thomas Shelby, is capable of running the family business.I would have adored a situation where Thomas and Ada Shelby were like a tag team in charge of the family business. It would have been incredible to witness.
Grace Shelby, Thomas Shelby's first wife and genuine love, should have been alive in the TV series, I missed her terribly and was heartbroken to learn of her death.
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT PEAKY BLINDERS
The Shelby's Family were known for walking around with their caps, but the interesting part is that it was a tool for protection as they had razors fixed inside
They had an interesting slogan "In the Order of the Fucking Peaky Blinders". I love hearing that line because it was used to demonstrate authority or punishment of defaulters or enemies.
Another interesting fact about the TV show was the fact that many viewers felt the movie was going to end with the death of Thomas Shelby but it was just amazing to see that only Thomas Shelby can kill himself. The family hierarchy in the Shelby's Family is followed by every member. They show respect to one another and the bad eggs in the family are dealt with. Polly Gray sadly died in real life due to cancer which modified the story of the movie to accommodate that we would not see her anymore.
In my opinion, The Peaky Blinders is a solid 9/10 and it is one of the best TV show to grace my television screen. It was an amazing journey with the family through thick and thin.
MY NEXT TV SHOW
NARCOS
There are certain names that you learn about as a child. You may be familiar with these names not because of their humanitarian endeavors, but for the wrong reasons. I knew about Pablo Escobar because he was a wealthy criminal, possibly the wealthiest ever.
NOTABLE NAMES AND INTRODUCTION
- Pablo Escobar acted by Wagner Moura
- Steve Murphy acted by Boyd Holbrook
- Javier Pena acted by Pedro Pascal
- Gustavo acted by Juan Pablo
It is a true-life television series based on Pablo Escobar's life. The film goes into great detail on his youth, education, family, and company progress. These are details that are rarely seen on Google or discussed by others.
Pablo Escobar intends to start a cocaine operation in his own country of Columbia, selling it in the United States and elsewhere. He gradually assembles a large cartel with a large number of soldiers. The film depicts the fight between Pablo Escobar and the drug enforcement forces. It also demonstrates Pablo Escobar's devotion for his family and the lengths to which he would go to protect them. The movie shows his birth, upbringing, business desire and venture, his family, wealth and buried money, war, bribery, corruption, politics and his death.
STORY WRITING REVIEW
Narcos is the only TV show based on true events, since it depicts the life of Pablo Escobar, a notorious drug lord. The writers were meticulous in gathering all of Escobar's personal details for the series, which was a huge undertaking.
WHY DO I LOVE NARCOS?
The reason why I love Narcos is because drug related TV series are based on real life situations. They provide an insight into life lessons and mistakes. It felt like watching a man's life from different perspective. It offered me the opportunity to examine the thoughts that went through Escobar's head at each point
WHAT I DISLIKED ABOUT NARCOS?
The fact that Gustavo who was a close friend and family to Pablo died early. Gustavo was the opposite of Pablo, he wax the cooling effect for a heated Pablo. He was the definition of Loyalty till death. I was sad to see him die. I disliked the fact that Pablo did not know when it was time to stop, he kept on going from one to another. His desires got him killed in this process
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT NARCOS
There was a time when Pablo Escobar's daughter was freezing and he had to burn $5 million in cash to keep her warm.It was both bizarre and fascinating.
He had a large fleet of automobiles, residences, and safe houses, making it difficult for law enforcement organizations to track him down. He created his own jail to fulfill his sentence, and when he was ready to depart, he escaped freely—only Legends can do that.
The US law enforcement agencies who apprehended Pablo Escobar are still alive and sharing their incredible experiences in real life.
