Hello hello, my dear cinephiles.
We are still on the Christmas movie trend, it's Christmas time, that's the norm, plus it's only once a year. The movie I'm going to talk about today is a Spanish production that I found very funny, it's quite crazy and fresh, and on the other hand with an air of nostalgia because it was dedicated to the memory of the recently deceased Verónica Forqué, so the movie is enveloped in that atmosphere of a comedy, but with a touch of natural melancholy.

Seguimos en la onda de películas navideñas, estamos en navidad, esa es la norma, además esto es una sola vez al año. La película de la que les voy a hablar hoy es una producción española que me pareció muy divertida, es bastante alocada y fresca, y por otro lado con un aire de nostalgia porque se dedicó a la memoria de la recién fallecida Verónica Forqué, así que la obra está envuelta en esa atmósfera propia de una comedia, pero con un toque de melancolía natural.
The film tells the story of Raul, a stubborn auditor who hates Christmas, loathes it, detests it, and runs away from it as much as he can, to the point of planning his Christmas vacation 1000 miles from Christmas. Raul had past experiences in his childhood and youth that created an aversion to Christmas festivities, he has no pleasant memories that make him change his mind, so in his vacation plans far from sharing with family and friends on these dates, he prefers to go to a paradisiacal island away from everything and everyone, he is a real Grinch of flesh and blood.
La película cuenta la historia de Raúl, un obstinado auditor que odia la navidad, la aborrece, la detesta, y huye de ella tanto como pueda, al punto de planificar sus vacaciones decembrinas a 1000 Km de la navidad. Raúl tuvo experiencias pasadas en su niñez y juventud que le crearon aversión hacia las festividades navideñas, no tiene ningún recuerdo grato que le haga cambiar de parecer, por ello en sus planes vacacionales lejos de compartir con familiares y amigos en estas fechas, él prefiere irse a una paradisíaca isla lejos de todo y de todos, él es un auténtico Grinch de carne y hueso.
A few days before his longed-for escape trip, his boss gives him a task, to audit a nougat and marzipan factory in a picturesque village, which considering its roots in Christmas traditions could be considered the living recreation of Villa Quien, you know the village that the green Grinch of Dr. Seuss hates so much; that's how dedicated and motivated the inhabitants of the village are to give Raul shelter for several days amidst Christmas carols, lights, and decorations.
A escasos días de su anhelado viaje de escape su jefe le encomienda una tarea, auditar una fábrica de turrones y mazapán en un pintoresco pueblo, el cual considerando su arraigo a las tradiciones navideñas podría considerarse la viva recreación de Villa Quien, ya saben la aldea que tanto aborrece el verde Grinch del Dr. Seuss; así de entregados y motivados son los habitantes del pueblo que dará cobijo por varios días a Raúl en medio de villancicos, luces y adornos.
From the very moment he sets foot in the town, the poor man feels overwhelmed with so many celebrations, to which is added the realization of a living nativity with which the town aspires to get a place in the Guinness Book, an event that keeps the villagers on tenterhooks. Meanwhile, Raul must ensure that the audit that was entrusted to him is fully complied with in order to be able to leave that place as soon as possible, but as the magic of Christmas always touches the hearts, without realizing it, he ends up getting more involved than necessary, to the point that he forgets his plans to go to the beach to begin his own love story, a story that is slowly developing with the coexistence and the passing of the days.
Desde el mismo instante en que pisa el pueblo el pobre hombre se siente abrumado con tantas celebraciones, a la que se le suma la realización de un nacimiento viviente con el que el pueblo aspira conseguir un lugar en el Libro Guinness, todo un acontecimiento que mantiene en vilo a sus pobladores. Mientras tanto, Raul debe velar porque la auditoria que le fue encomendada se cumpla a cabalidad para poder mancharse cuanto antes de aquel lugar, pero como la magia de la navidad siempre toca los corazones, sin darse cuenta termina involucrándose más de la cuenta, al punto que olvida sus planes de irse a la playa para dar inicio a su propia historia de amor, una historia que se va gestando poco a poco con la convivencia y el paso de los días.
The Grinch, as the children in the village call him, will reveal a sensitive side that he himself is unaware of, but that will be decisive for the inhabitants of the village to have a Merry Christmas.
El Grinch, como de hecho le dicen los niños en el pueblo, pondrá de manifiesto un lado sensible que él mismo desconoce tener, pero que será determinante para que los habitantes del pueblo logren tener una Feliz Navidad.
The film is really funny, with crazy scenes worthy of a Christmas romantic comedy, with beautiful landscapes typical of the winter season, the scenery is really beautiful. The plot as such points to the typical stories with a happy ending, but with a touch of madness, in which converge the feelings that move the human being, goodness, love, betrayal, falsehood; but in the end always triumphs good over evil, and in which love prevails indisputably.
La película de verdad es muy divertida, con escena disparatadas digna de una comedia romántica navideña, con unos paisajes hermosos propios de la temporada de invierno, la escenografía es realmente hermosa. La trama como tal apunta a las típicas historias con final feliz, pero con un toque de locura, en la que converge los sentimientos que mueven al ser humano, la bondad, el amor, la traición, la falsedad; pero en la que finalmente siempre triunfa el bien sobre el mal, y en la que el amor se impone indiscutiblemente.
Particularly, I really enjoy foreign productions, especially Spanish productions, maybe that is one of the reasons why I can value this film with so much enthusiasm, but I sincerely liked it, it has very good humor and a nice way to describe the meaning of Christmas for those who live it with passion and those who don't, respecting beliefs and convictions. Obviously, I recommend it, I think it is an excellent choice for these holidays to share with the family and have a good time.
Particularmente, yo disfruto muchísimo de las producciones extranjeras, sobre todo las producciones españolas, tal vez ese es un punto por el que puedo valorar con tanto entusiasmo esta película, pero es que sinceramente me gustó, tiene muy buen gusto, y una bonita manera de retratar el significado de la navidad para quienes la viven desde la pasión y quienes no, respetando así, creencias y convicciones. Obvio que la recomiendo, creo que es una excelente opción en estos días festivos para compartir con la familia y pasar un rato agradable.
