I had several days without writing for this community, the truth is that for personal reasons I had not been able to watch any series, and there was nothing that caught my attention. However, a coworker told me that she was waiting for the premiere of a Colombian series on Prime Video, which looked really good, then I set out to find the trailer and really captivated me, plus it had a cast of great actors, it is a series called MANES.

No obstante, una compañera de trabajo me comento que ella estaba esperando el estreno de una serie colombiana en Prime Video, que se veía realmente buena; entonces me dispuse a buscar el tráiler y realmente la serie me cautivo, además que contaba con un elenco de grandes actores, se trata de una serie llamada MANES.

Manes is a Colombian romantic comedy series produced by the RCN network and transmitted by the Prime Video streaming platform. It is an adaptation of a telenovela called Hombres, which aired in 1996. It features a cast of renowned actors such as Laura Londoño, Sebastián Carvajal, Juan Manuel Restrepo, David Cadavid, among others. The plot of the series is centered on the company named Billuka, which is a fintech created and managed by Julian (Sebastian Carvajal) and his friends; in the building advisor Julian meets Antonia (Laura Londoño) who is the daughter of an important businessman and investor.

Now, I want to comment that I have always seen the series and movies where Laura Londoño acts, the truth is that they have always been very good. However, I think I had very high expectations with this series and the truth is that they were not met. When I saw the trailer, they showed a romantic but funny plot and that it would not be at all this eighties novel plot; although it is certainly a fairly short production, I feel it lacked more development.
Ahora bien, quiero comentar que siempre he visto las series y películas donde actúa Laura Londoño, la verdad es que siempre han sido muy buenas. Sin embargo, creo que yo tenía muy altas expectativas con esta serie y la verdad no fueron alcanzadas. Cuando yo vi el tráiler, mostraban una trama romántica pero divertida y que no seria para nada esta trama de novela de los ochenta; aunque ciertamente es una producción bastante corta, siento que le faltó más desarrollo.

In the trailer they presented a group of friends with different personalities and lifestyles; however, the series only focuses on Julian and Antonia, without paying much attention to the other characters, so this leads to the name of the series does not make sense. I think the fact of wanting to fit an old series in a more current format, left the ideas in the air, unless the intention is to create a second season, but if that is the case they did not do it well, because the production as such did not leave me with that desire to see more, in fact I have had the pleasure of enjoying series that at the end of a chapter generate me an anxiety for the next chapter, and I can last until dawn watching, but that did not happen with this series, rather they were so boring chapters that I wanted them to end quickly.
En el tráiler presentaron un grupo de amigos con diferentes personalidades y estilos de vida; sin embargo, la serie solo se centra en Julián y Antonia, sin prestarle mucha atención a los demás personajes, entonces esto conlleva a que el nombre de la serie no tenga sentido. Creo que el hecho de querer encajar una serie vieja en un formato mas actual, dejo las ideas en el aire, a menos que la intención sea crear una segunda temporada, pero de ser ese el caso no lo hicieron nada bien, porque la producción como tal no me dejo con esas ganas de ver más, de hecho he tenido el gusto de disfrutar series que al terminar un capitulo me generan una ansiedad por el capitulo siguiente, y puedo durar hasta la madrugada viendo, pero eso no sucedió con esta serie, más bien fueron capítulos tan aburridos que quería que se terminaran rápido.

It is important to emphasize that although I personally did not like the series, other people may like it, the truth is that I hope that if there is a second season they give more participation to the other characters, which I sincerely feel can provide that Colombian spice that the series needs. However, the work of the actors as always was good.
Es importante recalcar, que aunque personalmente la serie no me gusto puede pasar que a otras personas si les guste, la verdad es que espero que si hay una segunda temporada le den más participación a los demás personajes, que sinceramente siento le pueden proporcionar ese picante colombiano que la serie necesita. Sin embargo, el trabajo de los actores como siempre fue bueno.
