Ha llegado mi época favorita del año, y con ella mi tradición personal ¿Cuál será? Pues debo confesar que soy fanática de las películas navideñas especialmente de la cadena Hallmark Channel, la cual es una cadena estadounidense, que centra su programación principalmente en la familia, lo que lo hace muy atractivo para mí porque no incluyen escenas de sexo de manera grotesca como la mayoría de las películas y series que se presentan en la actualidad. Es por ello, y partiendo de estos gustos y de la temporada que he decidido realizar semanalmente una recomendación de una película navideña, desde hoy, hasta la última semana de Diciembre y me encantaría que más personas me mostraran sus recomendaciones para disfrutar en esta temporada..

Well, I must confess that I am a fan of Christmas movies especially from the Hallmark Channel, which is an American network, which focuses its programming mainly on the family, which makes it very attractive to me because they do not include sex scenes in a grotesque way like most of the movies and series that are presented today. It is for this reason, and based on these tastes and the season that I have decided to make a weekly recommendation of a Christmas movie, from today, until the last week of December and I would love for more people to show me their recommendations to enjoy this season.
La primera de las películas que les quiero recomendar es El Secreto de Navidad se trata de una película de género romance, optimista y navideña; está protagonizada por Candace Cameron y David O`Donnell estrenada en el año 2014 y básicamente fue dirigida hacia la TV, distribuida por Hallmark Channel, pero también estuvo disponible por la cadena Netflix y ahora por Apple TV+.
The first of the films that I would like to recommend is The Christmas Secret, it is a romantic, optimistic and Christmas-themed film; It stars Candace Cameron and David O`Donnell, released in 2014 and was basically directed towards TV, distributed by Hallmark Channel, but it was also available on Netflix and now on Apple TV+.
La trama está centrada en la vida de la doctora Lauren Brunell, una medico citadina que desea realizar un postgrado en cardiología en Boston, pero las cosas no salen como ella las tiene planificadas. The plot focuses on the life of Dr. Lauren Brunell, a city doctor who wants to pursue a postgraduate degree in cardiology in Boston, but things don't go as planned. She is not accepted to the postgraduate program and her boyfriend breaks up with her, all this leads her to enrol in a general medicine program in a remote Alaskan town; when she arrives at the airport a young man from the town is waiting to take her by plane to the town, this begins to make the doctor uncomfortable, because she realises that she has gone to a town far away from civilisation.

It was a small town, with very nice people, but without the big franchises of the city and without its spectacular flat. There I had a cosy, pretty but simple hut, in the only cafeteria in town there was no light milk or sweetener and the hospital was a small house, like a doctor's surgery with a staff of four people, nothing like the hospitals in the big cities. However, as in any small town, gossip travels fast and everyone quickly knew that a new doctor had arrived in the town and that they had not had a doctor for more than a year, so when she arrived there were a lot of people.
Todo el mundo estaba contento con la llegada de la Dra. Everyone was happy with Dr. Brunell's arrival but she couldn't get used to the simple and quiet life in that town; however, love began to knock on her door and she began to get attached to all the people in the town who kept a secret. One day, her father calls her to tell her that there is a place for her in a postgraduate cardiology course and she tries to leave again, but an emergency happens with Frank Holliday, the owner of Holliday Shipping, and he makes her stay at the last minute. She starts to analyse everything she has been through and also that she was in love with Andy, so she finally decides to stay and that's when she learns the town's secret that Frank is the real Father Christmas and that Holliday Delivery is actually a toy factory.
Ahora, ¿Por qué me gusta esta película? Primero porque muestra unos lindos ambientes navideños, luego porque nos enseña que muchos son los planes que podemos tener, pero que Dios siempre nos va a llevar a cumplir un propósito y nos llevara por el camino donde podamos ser útiles a otras personas, a enseñarnos que existen cosas más importantes que las cosas materiales, logros profesionales, la fama. Es importante saber que existen cosas más simples que nos pueden hacer inmensamente feliz y que los cambios siempre son para bien.
Now, Why do I like this movie? First because it shows some nice Christmas atmospheres, then because it teaches us that there are many plans we can have, but that God will always lead us to fulfil a purpose and take us on a path where we can be useful to other people, to teach us that there are more important things than material things, professional achievements, fame. It is important to know that there are simpler things that can make us immensely happy and that changes are always for the better.
