The movies 'Behind the scenes' and 'Sister mi' are both Nigerian movies produced by Nigerian. I watched the behind the Scenes movie produced by funke Akindele some weeks back and just yesterday I watched the 'sister mi'movie produced by Chineye Love on YouTube. I had no prior idea to what I would be expecting in the second movie but when I started watching it immediately I started to see some similarities between Funke's movie and this present one.
The Behind the Scenes is a movie about a family whom one of the siblings is in total control of financing her brothers and sisters spendings. In other words, this means that she bears the burden of financial responsibilities for her other brother and sister because they are dependent on her and have refused to make themselves useful over time. In other words, she is like the bread winner who is in charge of paying their children school fees, supporting their lifestyle and everything.
Along the line she decided to pull a prank to discover if truly her family loves her or they are just there for the money.
However, the second movie was also about an elder sister who was in charge of the financial activities concerning her younger siblings. She would pay their school fees support their families, give them money for almost everything. However at the long run she got to find that that her family members were ungrateful and were taking her efforts for granted.
So similarities in the movie is that one member out of a family is acting like the father and mother to other members of the family by providing financial support to them while they depend fully on her.
However, the only difference between the two movies is that while the first one try to pull a prank to discover who loves her, in the second movie, the siblings were ungrateful and tried to ruin their sister's life from being with the person she loves and care about the most.
While I was watching the movie yesterday it just struck me that they were following the same storyline but halfway through to the end it became a different pattern entirely it became a different pattern entirely.
