Over the years, I've heard many different opinions about this show. Sometimes positive, sometimes negative. Sometimes overwhelmingly positive, sometimes overwhelmingly critical. Finally, I decided to personally check this global serial phenomenon. I had no expectations or prejudices towards him, I locked all the opinions I read about him in the wardrobe and did not take them out. Of course, at certain moments (during the screening) I happened to refer aloud to some of the slogans that I remembered, but it was non-binding - I did not suggest them even in the slightest way when watching and then judging. I will say right away that I do not take into account the later seasons and only judge this one. So, in short - I think that if you summarize all its advantages and disadvantages, the series deserves to be called a good one. Perhaps I could even say that it is on the borderline between good and very good. The idea is great, and so is the message (I mean the criticism of money, that banks get it, and ordinary people who have no luck in life or are deprived of talent are treated like slaves), but unfortunately there are too many mistakes and such which are visible at first glance (and can be improved without much interference in its content - it would be enough to make minor corrections at the writing stage), that I am not able to admire it. Which does not prevent me from enjoying it - I love such series. And maybe because of this I am not able to enjoy it as much as people who admire it. It is true that these are not anime, series etc. from the heist genre (I don't know if this is the current name, that's what I heard most often in this type of productions), but they are similarly resistant to twists, careful planning of every move, playing cat and mouse, and psychology. Clarification of the last point - I do not mean learning, but showing it in practice, e.g. how people react to different behaviors, situations, triggers. I will elaborate on this in the appropriate paragraph.
The plot tells about a group of thieves led by the Professor. A mysterious, very intelligent, cunning and cynical hero. I liked him primarily for one trait that most of society does not exhibit (without bragging, I also have it, although unfortunately I am too emotional, unlike a few of my friends who also have it but are much better at controlling emotions) - he can think objectively and act methodically. Even if it's just plain motherfucker. A man can see the truth, separate facts from emotions that distort our judgment (in the sense, he focuses on the most important matter, ignoring unnecessary additions. In other words - he sees the problem, solves it and goes further, not stopping and taking care of unimportant matters) He knows there are two sides to every medal and there are basically two ways to solve the problem - in this case, either by working with it for a longer time, or by doing it with one precise fuck aiming right at its nucleus. Two examples - a situation where he made a dirty chew to get into the car. Or how he pissed off the ex-husband of his "partner" - provoked him, and then knocked him down using the usual technique (because as you can see, he is not a fighter, and as long as the difference in strength is not too great and you have skills, the technique is enough to knock someone down). Well, but returning to the plot, because I will write about the characters later ... The professor gathered a group of thieves or people with appropriate skills that will be necessary for the attack, and then presented them with a perfect plan that takes into account all possible actions and reactions of the police. After preparing the equipment and training the thieves, they start a robbery to steal 2.5 billion euros.
Okay, continuing the plot from the introduction - there are too many bugs, ill-considered things, or nonsense the characters talk about in this show. I will not write about all of them, because, as you have noticed, I watch series en masse and I write that too. Besides, I didn't write them down, as is the case in some cases. Although they did not exceed the critical mass that would prevent me from having a pleasant screening (as in the case of the anime movie "Belle", the last season of "Game of Thrones", or season 2 of "The Witcher"), but it was close. I won't get picked on that the characters were too lucky - that's the trait of the genre. It's like I'm clinging to a Hollywood action movie that the protagonist is One Man Army or a shounen manga, that the main character is the strongest (or will be the strongest at some point in the story), or other patterns. As long as it is not clearly abused, I don't think it's a problem (it was irritating at times and the creators were slightly exaggerating, but in my opinion it was survivable). Another thing is a lot of stupid things that can be fixed after reading the script by several people - if I immediately caught my eye and started asking questions (and I'm not very intelligent and many of my friends can handle it better than me), then how come nobody did not see it?
For example, how did the heroes dig such a tunnel (indeed, two tunnels!) In such a short time? Ok, they only had to dig a fragment of the ground, because the rest of the route they walked through normal underground, but in so many hours, with such a small group of people, it is impossible. Breaking down the concrete is one thing - if a large log like me or someone of comparable weight (181 cm, 90 kg) would do it, I see no problem, but make a tunnel through which a man will pass? In a few days? Especially when we are talking about getting to the Professor's garage, which is at least 20 kilometers from the mint. Or the stupidity of a woman from the police, the one who fell in love with the Professor - I understand that love blinds a man like a drug, but fuck you! The professor showed up far too often in places where he shouldn't be. You can turn a blind eye a few times, but if there are too many cases and someone does not notice them, then either you don't want to see it or you are too stupid. Not only that, her police partner (the one who had had a car accident) told her everything, and she still didn't believe it, even though the stench of the professor's deceit could be felt a few kilometers from him! Or it's slow money creation. I know (or at least I think so) that they wanted to build up the tension, but pity - the Mint was going like an experienced and well-prepared marathon runner to run (and that after taking a large dose of amphetamines). 24 hours a day, excluding necessary breaks. I know that a billion euros is such an amount of money that an ordinary person may not be able to grasp it, but this mint was working all the time and the amount of money was growing very slowly. On the money side, are the attackers teenagers that don't know that you can't easily move that much money without being noticed? Ie. ok, you can still move them, but you will not buy anything big for it, the tax office will start snooping around in no time, and you will not give them a cheap putty, because they have receipts for everything and they know what and how to ask when someone suddenly has a lot of money. Well, this last point is bullshit, you can say that the heroes dreamed of each other and talked about what saliva would bring on their tongue. To sum up, there are many more such mistakes, so I cannot see this series as something serious, but only a light, pleasant comedy (or an action series) that touches on a few more serious topics. If you are focused primarily on action, fictional cliffhangers and you do not pay attention to mistakes, it may not bother you. Unfortunately, I've seen too many of them.
As for the actors, none of them made an electrifying impression on me - no matter if I'm talking about acting skills or an idea for a character. Which doesn't mean I didn't like or appreciate them. Each of them at least completed their task correctly, some better, some worse. There were a few strange moments when they acted against logic, but it's not the actors' fault, it's the writer's fault. Some people were delighted with the figure of the Professor and for me, these praises are a bit exaggerated. Yes, a few of his ideas won my appreciation. Yes, he can be a terrible dick if the situation forces him to. However, I've seen too many of these kinds of heroes in anime or other series to rave about them. I see too much space in which he could prove himself, just like the heroes of other series similar to him. Apart from him, I liked all the older thieves the most for their maturity - they knew what they were signing up for and what awaited them in case of failure. I liked them all the more when they made really painful decisions and they didn't complain. I understand that when a man is young, he lacks experience and gets carried away more often, but at times they acted so pitifully that I really wondered if this was a parody. It wasn't a robbery at the local grocery store and they acted as if they were not.
To sum up, even though I complained for a large part of the text, I really liked the series. I'm not going to watch the rest of the seasons, maybe I'll watch the best Netflix one (any good soul will say which one?), But it's only in some time. I don't want to be spoiled by the rubbish created by Netflix, and I will hold off on the next screening - I want my opinion to "freeze" like concrete before I start watching the next one. Despite all the problems, for some time now I enjoyed turning on the next episode (I say this because after the first or the second, I was a bit disappointed with it). I got involved in this story and cheered on the thieves. I also really liked the message of this series - admittedly it is a bit naive, because this problem is inextricably linked with the human and there is no effective way to solve it (you can only make it easier by simplifying the law, lowering taxes, giving people more freedom), but provokes reflection. Plus, the music is really nice - I liked the intro and the song Bella Ciao a lot. Ultimately, I rate this series 7/10 with a small plus - for being a tight story that was not continued and ended at the right moment. I mean, not by the original creators, because Netflix squeezed "Le Casa de Papel" like a lemon, if only to earn as much as possible on it.
Przez wiele lat, słyszałem wiele różnych opinii na temat tego serialu. Czasem pozytywne, czasem negatywne. Czasem wybitnie pozytywne, czasem skrajnie krytyczne. Postanowiłem w końcu osobiście sprawdzić ten światowy, serialowy fenomen. Nie miałem wobec niego żadnych oczekiwań ani uprzedzeń, wszystkie opinie jakie czytałem na jego temat, zamknąłem do szafy i ich stamtąd nie wyciągałem. Oczywiście, w pewnych momentach (w trakcie seansu) zdarzało mi się odnosić na głos do niektórych haseł, które zapamiętałem, ale było to niezobowiązujące - nie sugerowałem się nimi nawet w najdrobniejszy sposób przy oglądaniu, a następnie ocenianiu. Odrazu powiem, że nie biorę pod uwagę późniejszych sezonów i oceniam tylko ten. Zatem mówiąc krótko - uważam, że gdyby podsumować jego wszystkie zalety i wady, to serial zasłużył na miano dobrego. Być może mógłbym nawet powiedzieć, że jest na pograniczu między dobrym, a bardzo dobrym. Pomysł jest świetny, przesłanie również (mam tu na myśli krytykę pieniędzy, to że banki je dostają, a zwykli ludzie, którzy nie mieli szczęścia w życiu lub są pozbawieni talentów, są traktowani jak niewolnicy), ale niestety jest zbyt dużo błędów i to takich, które są widoczne na pierwszy rzut oka (i można je poprawić bez dużej ingerencji w jego treść - wystarczyłoby dokonać drobnych korekt na etapie pisania), że nie jestem w stanie się nim zachwycić. Co nie zabrania mi się nim cieszyć - uwielbiam takie seriale. I być może przez to nie jestem w stanie się nim cieszyć tak, jak ludzie którzy się nim zachwycają. Co prawda nie są to anime, seriale etc. z gatunku heist (nie wiem, czy taka jest obowiązująca nazwa, taką słyszałem najczęściej przy tego typu produkcjach), ale w podobnym stopniu opierają się zwrotach akcji, dokładnym zaplanowaniu każdego ruchu, zabawie w kotka i myszkę oraz psychologii. Wyjaśnienie ostatniego punktu - nie chodzi mi o naukę, a o pokazywanie jej w praktyce, np. jak ludzie reagują na różne zachowania, sytuacje, triggery. Rozwinę to w stosownym akapicie.
Fabuła opowiada o grupie złodziei, której przewodzi Profesor. Tajemniczy, bardzo inteligentny, przebiegły i cyniczny bohater. Polubiłem go przede wszystkim za jedną cechę, której nie przejawia większość społeczeństwa (nie chwaląc się, też ją posiadam, choć niestety jestem zbyt emocjonalny, w przeciwieństwie do kilku moich znajomych, którzy również ją posiadają ale znacznie lepiej potrafią kontrolować emocje) - potrafi myśleć obiektywnie i działać metodycznie. Nawet jeżeli jest to zwykłe skurwysyństwo. Mężczyzna potrafi dostrzec prawdę, oddzielić fakty od emocji, które zaburzają nasz osąd (w sensie, skupia się na sprawie najważniejszej, ignorując zbędne dodatki. Innymi słowy - dostrzega problem, rozwiązuje go i idzie dalej, a nie zatrzymuje się i zajmuje mało istotnymi sprawami), wie że każdy medal ma dwie strony i można rozwiązać problem zasadniczo na dwa sposoby - w tym przypadku, albo dłużej przy nim pracując albo zrobić to jednym, precyzyjnym pierdolnięciem celując prosto w jego jądro. Dwa przykłady - sytuacja, w której zrobił z siebie brudnego żula, by dostać się do samochodu. Albo jak wkurzył byłego męża swojej "partnerki" - sprowokował go, a następnie powalił na glebę stosując zwykłą technikę (bo jak widać, żaden z niego wojownik, a dopóki różnica w sile nie jest zbyt duża i ma się umiejętności, to technika wystarczy, by kogoś powalić). No ale wracając do fabuły, bo o postaciach napiszę później... Profesor zebrał grupę złodziei lub ludzi o odpowiednich umiejętnościach, które będą niezbędne do ataku, a następnie przedstawił im perfekcyjny plan, który uwzględnia wszystkie możliwe działania oraz reakcje policji. Po przygotowaniu sprzętu i przyuczeniu złodziei, rozpoczynają napad, w którym mają ukraść 2.5 miliarda Euro.
Ok, kontynuując wątek ze wstępu - w tym serialu jest za dużo błędów, nieprzemyślanych rzeczy lub bzdur, o których mówią bohaterowie. Nie napiszę o wszystkich, bo jak zauważyliście, oglądam masowo seriale i tak też piszę. Poza tym, nie zapisywałem ich, jak to bywa w niektórych przypadkach. Nie przekroczyły co prawda masy krytycznej, która uniemożliwiłaby mi przyjemny seans (jak np. w przypadku filmu anime "Belle", ostatniego sezonu "Game of Thrones", czy 2 sezonu "Wiedźmina"), ale było blisko. Nie będę się czepiał o to, że postacie miały za dużo szczęścia - taka jest cecha tego gatunku. To tak, jakbym się czepiał filmu akcji z Hollywood, że protagonista to One Man Army lub mang z gatunku shounen, że główny bohater jest najsilniejszy (lub będzie najsilniejszy na pewnym etapie historii), względnie innych schematów. Dopóki nie jest to wyraźnie nadużywane, dopóty uważam że nie jest to problemem (momentami było to irytujące i twórcy delikatnie przesadzali, ale wg mnie dało się to przeżyć). Co innego liczne głupoty, które można naprawić po przeczytaniu scenariusza przez kilka osób - skoro mi się to odrazu rzuciło w oczy i zacząłem zadawać pytania (a nie jestem zbyt inteligentny i wielu moich znajomych radzi sobie z tym lepiej niż ja), to jakim cudem nikt tego nie dostrzegł?
Np. jakim cudem bohaterowie wykopali taki tunel (ba, dwa tunele!) w tak krótkim czasie? Ok, musieli wykopać tylko fragment ziemi, bo pozostałą część trasy przeszli normalnymi podziemiami, ale w tyle godzin, z tak nieliczną grupą ludzi, jest to niemożliwe. Rozwalenie betonu to jedno - jeżeli zrobiłby to duży kloc jak ja lub ktoś o porównywalnej masie (181 cm, 90 kg wagi), to nie widzę problemu, ale zrobić tunel przez który przejdzie człowiek? W kilka dni? Zwłaszcza, gdy mówimy o dostaniu się do garażu Profesora, który jest co najmniej 20 kilometrów od mennicy. Albo głupota kobiety z policji, tej która zakochała się w Profesorze - ja rozumiem, że miłość oślepia człowieka jak narkotyk, ale kurwa mać! Profesor pojawiał się zdecydowanie zbyt często w miejscach, w których nie powinien się znaleźć. Kilka razy można przymknąć oko, ale jeżeli jest za dużo przypadków, a ktoś ich nie dostrzega, to albo nie chce tego widzieć albo jest zbyt głupi. Mało tego, jej policyjny partner (ten, który miał wypadek samochodowy) powiedział jej wszystko, a ta nadal w to nie wierzyła, mimo że smród fałszu Profesora czuć było kilka kilometrów od niego! Albo to powolne tworzenie się pieniędzy. Ja wiem (a przynajmniej tak mi się wydaje), że chcieli zbudować napięcie, ale litości - mennica zapierdalała, jak doświadczony i świetnie przygotowany maratończyk do biegu (i to po wciągnięciu dużej porcji amfetaminy). 24 godziny na dobę, pomijając niezbędne przerwy. Ja wiem, że miliard euro to taka ilość pieniędzy, że zwykły człowiek może tego nie ogarnąć, ale ta mennica pracowała cały czas, a ilość pieniędzy rosła bardzo powoli. A propos pieniędzy, czy napastnicy są nastolatkami, że nie wiedzą, że nie da się bez problemu przenieść takiej ilości forsy nie będąc zauważonym? Tzn. ok, przenieść je jeszcze może można, ale nic dużego za to nie kupisz, skarbówka błyskawicznie zacznie węszyć, a im taniego kitu nie wciśniesz, bo mają na wszystko kwity i wiedzą o co i jak pytać, gdy ktoś nagle zdobył mnóstwo pieniędzy. No ale ten ostatni punkt to pierdoła, można powiedzieć, że bohaterowie sobie marzyli i gadali, co im ślina na język przyniesie. Reasumując, takich błędów jest znacznie więcej, przez co nie mogę postrzegać tego serialu jako coś poważnego, a jedynie lekką, przyjemną komedię (względnie serial akcji), która porusza kilka poważniejszych tematów. Jeżeli jesteście nastawieni przede wszystkim na akcję, fabularne cliffhangery i nie zwracacie uwagi na błędy, to może Wam to nie przeszkadzać. Niestety, ja widziałem ich zbyt dużo.
Jeśli chodzi o aktorów, to żaden nie zrobił na mnie piorunującego wrażenia - nie ważne, czy mówię o umiejętnościach aktorskich czy pomyśle na postać. Co nie znaczy, że nie polubiłem lub nie doceniłem ich. Każdy co najmniej poprawnie zrealizował swoje zadanie, jedni lepiej, drudzy gorzej. Było kilka dziwnych momentów, gdy zachowywali się wbrew logice, ale to nie wina aktorów, tylko scenarzysty. Część ludzi zachwycało się postacią Profesora i jak dla mnie, te pochwały są nieco przesadzone. Owszem, kilka jego pomysłów zdobyło moje uznanie. Owszem, potrafi być okropnym kutasem, jeżeli sytuacja go do tego zmusi. Jednakże widziałem zbyt wiele tego typu bohaterów w anime lub innych serialach, by się nim zachwycać. Widzę zbyt dużą przestrzeń, w której mógł się wykazać, tak jak bohaterowie innych seriali, podobnych do niego. Pomijając go, to najbardziej polubiłem wszystkich starszych złodziei za ich dojrzałość - wiedzieli na co się piszą i co ich czeka w razie niepowodzenia. Polubiłem ich tym mocniej gdy podjęli naprawdę bolesne dla siebie decyzje i nie narzekali. Ja rozumiem, że jak człowiek jest młody, to brakuje mu doświadczenia i częściej daje się ponieść emocjom, ale momentami zachowywali się tak żałośnie, że autentycznie zastanawiałem się, czy to nie jest parodia. To nie był napad na lokalny sklep z warzywami, a ci zachowywali się tak, jakby było inaczej.
Reasumując, mimo że narzekałem przez dużą część tekstu, to serial mi się naprawdę podobał. Nie zamierzam oglądać pozostałych sezonów, może obejrzę ten najlepszy od Netflixa (któraś dobra dusza powie, który to?), ale to dopiero za jakiś czas. Nie chcę sobie zepsuć wrażeń przez śmieci, które stworzył Netflix, a z seansem kolejnego się wstrzymam - chcę by moja opinia "zastygła" jak beton, zanim zabiorę się za oglądanie kolejnego. Mimo wszystkich problemów, to od pewnego momentu z przyjemnością włączałem kolejny odcinek (mówię tak, bo po pierwszym lub drugim, byłem nim trochę rozczarowany). Zaangażowałem się w tę historię oraz kibicowałem złodziejom. Bardzo podobało mi się również przesłanie tego serialu - co prawda jest trochę naiwne, bo ten problem jest nierozerwalnie związany z człowiekiem i nie ma skutecznego sposobu na jego rozwiązanie (można jedynie to ułatwić poprzez upraszczanie prawa, obniżanie podatków, dawanie większej swobody ludziom), ale skłania do refleksji. Poza tym, muzyka jest naprawdę przyjemna - bardzo polubiłem intro i utwór Bella Ciao. Ostatecznie oceniam ten serial na 7/10 z małym plusem - za to że to zwarta historia, która nie była kontynuowana i została zakończona w odpowiednim momencie. Tzn nie przez oryginalnych twórców, bo Netflix wycisnął "Le Casa de Papel" jak cytrynę, byleby jak najwięcej na nim zarobić.
