If it is only "great", it is often watched only by fans of a given genre or people who like to analyze technical aspects (and such episodes are a great opportunity to show off your knowledge, present the topic and gain new viewers). More than once, I have seen analyzes of a given episode, breaking it down into prime factors, by people with such knowledge that I am a 13-year-old Tomek who does not distinguish between anime genres. More than once, I have watched an episode of One Piece, BnHA, or another anime that was loudly praised all over the internet. It was through the excitement of AllMight vs Nomu that I was introduced to BnHA. Or yet another example, my beloved Dragon Ball. The special episode of Jiren vs Goku literally burned down the servers of streaming services and if you did not download the episode from the Internet, you could not watch this episode in comfortable conditions for a few days (and in some places for a week). Often it is one episode per series, because it is difficult for obvious and not obvious reasons. I have often repeated the obvious ones, and I can include the non-obvious ones in one sentence. To make such an excellent episode, you need to have a decent team that is willing to fuck in a hard and tedious way. Fuck the job, which may not be the most thankless job, but quality costs money. Money, time, good humor (because more than once the creator will hear that his work is good, but too weak and needs to be started again. And this is the "better" scenario.), intellectual resources (the point is that mental work it's tiring. Sometimes 4.5 hours of playing on a hard/very hard difficulty level can be as tiring to the brain as a super-hard gym workout or a very long-distance run if you're not a professional or at least a very experienced one hours when sweat runs down your ass from exhaustion.).
But then people get rewarded. Satisfaction and a lot of positive opinions on the Internet. Episode 5 of X Men '97 is for me the level of Gaolang vs Fang Metsudo (Kengan Ashura) or Isaac Netero vs Meruem (Hunter x Hunter). I can give other examples, but these are the ones I talk about most often. What sets them apart from other episodes? Quality, voice actors, emotions, consistency, refinement, atmosphere, ingenuity, creativity, directing, pacing. This episode, like the above-mentioned episodes, will have its own text. There is too much content here to minimize it to one paragraph of the review. But not today. Today I want to share with you my general impressions. When I heard that episode 5 was a banger, I was skeptical. It is true that after 4 episodes I knew that it was a good/very good animation, in which each episode had at least one beautifully executed key scene, but I did not believe that the creators could afford something so excellent. Especially since the showrunner of the series is a man who laughed at the skills of Andrzej Sapkowski and people who criticized their adaptation of The Witcher. Yes, Mr. Beau DeMayo was a negative character in the drama related to Geralt. I hope DeMayo's problem that forced him to delete social media (+ he lost his job on this show, Disney fired him) isn't one that can't be forgiven because he did too well with X-Men and I want to see more of it!

Episode 4, which was criticized by many (personally, I don't like it either, because I don't like fillers, but it was a well-made filler, just like the episode titled "The Fly" in Breaking Bad), has a completely different atmosphere. Just as episode 5 was completely serious, bloody and brutal, episode 4 is a very pleasant nostalgia festival with a funny plot (or not, because as a child I was not amused by the plot of interdimensional and intergalactic television). The decision to post it just before 5 p.m. was the only right one. Especially in conjunction with the beginning of episode 5, where Gambit and Magneto measure their dicks to show who is more manly. Or the happy scenes between Gambit, Nightcrawler and Rogue. Or scenes of the Mutants enjoying their free lives in Genosha. Thanks to this, each bomb worked with the force of the Miniature Rose from episode 126 of HxH.
The conversation between Rogue and Gambit perfectly showed why this type of confession is painful for both parties. It is true that after the scene in which Rogue appeared at the party like an Imperial Bride on a wedding carpet, one may doubt her intentions, but as I have already said, this is not the case. She not only had to do it, but also wanted to, and if anyone has any complaints against her... I don't think they are serious. When our emotions reached the zenith after the erotic and sensual dance of Magneto x Rogue (a perfect "Alpha rags, beta pays" scene - I felt the emotions of all the characters participating or observing this spectacle, wonderful!!!), Cable appears. Asia didn't know why, but I did - I knew this story from the comics, but I forgot "why" Cable appeared in this timeline. The tension is rising. And after Cable's declaration, it grew even more.
The ball is going on, everyone is having fun, and suddenly at some point it goes quiet. Too quiet. After effectively breaking the silence, a beautiful action sequence begins. Choreography, strength of characters, emotions, speed of events, direction, editing, atmosphere - everything is top notch. Gambit and Magneto, who a moment ago were measuring each other's dicks, now work together like Geralt and Cahir or Goku and Vegeta. Master Mold shows up at the ball in Genosha (the only spoiler I couldn't hide) and, like an angry Broly, starts shooting out super-powerful energy beams. The comparison to the barbaric legendary super-saiyan is not accidental. It's the same case of an unkillable big dick who massacres any mutant with one punch. Unless it's an Omega Mutant or mega chad Magneto, which is also an Omega level Mutant. The Lord of Magnetism uses every cell of his body to be able to fight (let's say) a fairly even duel with the strongest Sentinel for a few minutes. Jeżeli jest tylko "świetny", to często oglądają go np. tylko fani danego gatunku lub ludzie, którzy lubią analizować techniczne aspekty (a takie odcinki to znakomita okazja do pochwalenia się wiedzą, przedstawienia tematu i zdobycia nowych widzów). Nie raz widziałem analizy danego odcinka, rozkładające go na czynniki pierwsze przez ludzi z taką wiedzą, że ja jestem przy nich 13-letnim Tomkiem, który nie rozróżnia gatunków anime. Nie raz oglądałem odcinek One Piece, BnHA lub innego anime, które były głośno chwalone w całym internecie. To właśnie dzięki ekscytacji AllMight vs Nomu poznałem BnHA. Albo jeszcze inny przykład, mój ukochany Dragon Ball. Odcinek specjalny Jiren vs Goku dosłownie spalił serwery serwisów streamingowych i jak nie pobrałeś odcinka z sieci, to przez parę dni (a w niektórych miejscach przez tydzień) nie można było obejrzeć tego epizodu w komfortowych warunkach. Często jest to jeden odcinek na serial, bo jest to trudne z oczywistych i nieoczywistych powodów. Te oczywiste często powtarzałem, a te nieoczywiste mogę zawrzeć w jednym zdaniu. Żeby zrobić tak doskonały odcinek, trzeba mieć porządny zespół, któremu będzie chciało się pierdolić w ciężki i żmudny sposób. Pierdolić nad robotą, która może nie jest najbardziej niewdzięcznym zajęciem, ale jakość kosztuje. Pieniądze, czas, dobry humor (bo nie raz twórca usłyszy, że jego praca jest dobra, ale zbyt słaba i trzeba ją zacząć od nowa. A to jest "ten lepszy" scenariusz.), zasoby intelektualne (chodzi o to, że praca umysłowa jest męcząca. Czasem 4,5 godzin gry na wysokim / bardzo wysokim poziomie trudności może tak zmęczyć mózg, jak super-ciężki trening na siłowni lub bieg na bardzo długim dystansie, jak nie jesteśmy zawodowcami lub przynajmniej bardzo doświadczeni. Bardziej niż machanie łopatą przez 8 godzin, gdy pot ścieka po dupie ze zmęczenia.).
Ale potem ludzie dostają nagrodę. Satysfakcję i bardzo dużo pozytywnych opinii w internecie. 5 odcinek X Men '97 to dla mnie poziom Gaolang vs Fang Metsudo (Kengan Ashura) lub Isaac Netero vs Meruem (Hunter x Hunter). Mogę podać inne przykłady, ale o tych mówię najczęściej. Co je wyróżnia na tle innych odcinków? Jakość, aktorzy głosowi, emocje, spójność, dopracowanie, klimat, pomysłowość, kreatywność, reżyseria, pacing. Ten odcinek, podobnie jak w/w epizody, dostanie swój własny tekst. Jest tu zbyt dużo contentu, by go zminimalizować do jednego akapitu recenzji. Ale to nie dziś. Dzisiaj chcę się z Wami podzielić moimi ogólnymi wrażeniami. Gdy usłyszałem, że 5 odcinek to petarda, byłem sceptyczny. Co prawda po 4 odcinkach wiedziałem, że to dobra / bardzo dobra animacja, w której każdy epizod ma co najmniej jedną, pięknie wykonaną kluczową scenę, ale nie wierzyłem że twórców stać na coś tak znakomitego. Tym bardziej, że showrunnerem serialu jest pan, który śmiał się z umiejętności Andrzeja Sapkowskiego i ludzi krytykujących ich adaptację Wiedźmina. Tak, Pan Beau DeMayo był negatywnym bohaterem dramy związanej z Geraltem. Mam nadzieję, że problem DeMayo, który zmusił go do skasowania social mediów (+ stracił pracę przy tym serialu, Disney go wyrzucił), nie jest tym którego nie można wybaczyć, bo X-Men wyszli mu zbyt dobrze i chcę oglądać więcej tego!
Ten odcinek jest zbyt dobry, by go Wam spoilerować, więc ograniczę się do powiedzenia moich ogólnych wrażeń. Jak nie znacie tego odcinka, to podziękujecie mi, a jak znacie... Wiecie jakie emocje kryją się za moimi słowami. Zacznę od tego, że miał doskonałą podbudowę. Trójkącik miłosny Gambit-Rogue-Magneto był budowany od początku, tak jak Cyclops-Jean Grey-Wolverine. Nie jest to kolejny trójkącik z serii "kobieta / mężczyzna chce mieć ciastko i zjeść ciastko" (jak to powiedziała Jean w kłótni ze swoim mężem), problem wchodzi znacznie głębiej. Rogue szczerze kocha hazardzistę, ale z powodu swojej mocy, nie może nikogo dotknąć. Wyjątkiem jest Magneto, który jest w stanie otoczyć ciało magnetyczną powłoką. Jako że jesteście dorośli, to pewnie wiecie jak się to skończyło. Budowa napięcia jest też widoczna w innym aspekcie. 4 odcinek, który był przez wielu skrytykowany (osobiście też za nim nie przepadam, bo nie lubię fillerów, ale to był dobrze zrobiony filler, tak jak odcinek zatytułowany "Mucha" w Breaking Bad), ma zupełnie inny klimat. Tak jak 5 odcinek był w pełni poważny, krwawy i brutalny, tak 4 jest bardzo przyjemnym festiwalem nostalgii z zabawnym wątkiem (lub nie, bo mnie już za dziecka nie śmieszył wątek międzywymiarowej i międzygalaktycznej telewizji). Decyzja by wrzucić go akurat przed 5, była jedyną słuszną. Zwłaszcza w połączeniu z początkiem 5 odcinka, w którym Gambit i Magneto mierzą swoje kutasy pokazując, kto jest bardziej męski. Albo radosne sceny między Gambitem, Nightcrawlerem i Rogue. Albo sceny z Mutantami, którzy cieszą się swobodnym życiem w Genoshy. Dzięki temu każda z bomb zadziałała z siłą Miniaturowej Róży ze 126 odcinka HxH.
Rozmowa między Rogue, a Gambit świetnie pokazała, dlaczego tego typu wyznanie jest bolesne dla obu stron. Co prawda po scenie, w której Rogue pojawiła się na imprezie niczym Cesarska Panna Młoda na ślubnym kobiercu, można wątpić w jej intencje, ale jak już mówiłem, to nie jest ten przypadek. Ona nie tylko musiała to zrobić, ale też chciała i jeżeli ktoś ma do niej pretensje... To uważam je za mało poważne. Gdy nasze emocje sięgnęły zenitu po erotycznym i sensualnym tańcu Magneto x Rogue (doskonała scena typu "Alfa szmaci, beta płaci" - czułem emocje wszystkich postaci uczestniczących lub obserwujących ten spektakl, cudo!!!), pojawia się Cable. Asia nie wiedziała czemu, a ja tak - znam tę historię z komiksów, ale zapomniałem "dlaczego" Cable pojawił się w tej linii czasowej. Napięcie rośnie. A po deklaracji Cable'a urosło jeszcze bardziej.
Bal trwa, wszyscy się bawią i nagle w pewnym momencie robi się cicho. Za cicho. Po efektownym przerwaniu ciszy, rozpoczyna się przepiękna sekwencja akcji. Choreografia, siła postaci, emocje, szybkość wydarzeń, reżyseria, montaż, klimat - wszystko jest top notch. Gambit i Magneto, którzy jeszcze chwilę temu, mierzyli swoje kutasy, teraz współpracują jak Geralt i Cahir lub Goku i Vegeta. Master Mold pojawia się na balu w Genoshy (jedyny spoiler, którego nie mogłem ukryć) i niczym wściekły Broly, zaczyna wyrzucać z siebie super-potężne promienie energii. Porównanie do barbarzyńskiego legendarnego super-saiyanina jest nieprzypadkowe. To taki sam przypadek niezabijalnego, wielkiego chuja, który jednym ciosem masakruje dowolnego mutanta. O ile to nie jest Mutant Omega lub mega chad Magneto, czyli też Mutant na poziomie Omega. Władca Magnetyzmu wykorzystuje każdą komórkę swojego ciała, by przez kilka minut móc toczyć (powiedzmy) w miarę wyrównany pojedynek z najsilniejszym Sentinelem. Jestem szczodry dla Żyda niemieckiego pochodzenia, on mógł jedynie udawać że stawia mu opór. Finałowy Beam Struggle między nim, a Master Moldem, nieprzypadkowo skojarzył mi się z taką samą sceną między Goku, a Kid Buu lub 1 starciem między Goku i Vegetą.
I w tym momencie skończę. Po prostu idźcie oglądać! Mam nadzieję, że Amerykanie nadal będą się inspirować anime przy tworzeniu swoich kreskówek, bo wychodzi im to znakomicie! Zabawne, bo jak Japończycy zaczynali zabawę ze swoimi animacjami, to inspirowali się tymi Amerykańskimi. Taki chichot historii.
