If you are a fan of romance and drama then this is the movie for you, a movie you can watch with that special person on date night.
I Met a Girl written by Glen Dolman, he really went all out writing this script, imagine watching a movie that gets you to put yourself in the situation off the characters, I actually had a little tear drop at the end of this movie.
Brenton Thwaites from "pirates of the Caribbean" really brought this movie to light as Devon Cassidy. Devon a member of the boy band Named "They said it wouldn't last" and an amazing singer who suffers from schizophrenia, The curtains open starting out with a wedding Devon's brothers weeding Joel Jackson who plays the role of Nick Cassidy in this beautiful Australian romance drama. Devon skips his pills at his brothers wedding to perform the song which he has written as a gift for his brother at the wedding.
Devon perform the song which he has written with his band and then the schizophrenia kicks in and things took a violent turn, which made Devon to spend 5rys of his life in a rehabilitation hospital.
He claims to be hearing two voices in his head which started when he was 12yrs MR Rocket a super hero friction who makes him do reckless things but as he believes MR rocket is his "protector" and Miss Needle terrorize him and makes him feel like he is useless and not wanted.
Devon gets out of the hospital after 5yrs and is now living with his brother and wife who is expecting a baby as Devon would say "little Fetus".
Devon try's out at a job with the help of his brother at a pet store "PET PATCH" but due to his condition he couldn't hold on to a job, as he rages out on a boy bulling the birds in their cage, he let's them out on an argument that they are not commodities.
Nick and his wife Olivia are not comfortable having Devon around the house due to his condition, so Nick gets Devon his own apartment but Devon is not okay with that due to his condition, in my opinion I don't think Devon should stay on his own he has schizophrenia and could be suicidal
Devon try's to bring the band together but that would not be possible because everyone has moved on with there life and don't really want to associate with him. he skipping his pills again and is being tormented by the voice in his head Miss Needle which leads him to jump off the roof of a building, shocking he did not die.
What Devon is still alive?, like I'm confused, you accidentally fell form possibly a three story building and you did not die!!! not even a broken leg... Devon wakes up with blood on his head in the bath tube of Lucy.
Lily Sullivan cast as Lucy in this movie, Lucy has a Dog, who found Devon where he fell and Lucy narrates how she drags him all the way to the bath tube, watching this scene In my head this can never be real or was it?
The look of excitement on Devon's face was just too priceless as Lucy tells him her name, with the background song I was really caught in the moment chills and goosebumps, this was the start of Devon's cross country journey for love, he wakes up in the morning to a note from Lucy saying "Meet me in Sydney"
Devon who is unmedicated, and hearing voices in his head set off for a cross country journey for a girl who might not be real, Leaving his brother Nick and Olivia worried about his where about searching and printing posters looking for him all over, actually Devon did not tell anyone about his plans of travel to Sydney that's if he actually had a plan lol...
Luke Eve actually directed this move in a very classy style, as Devon sets out to the wild world in search of love, this movie with all the love twist and struggle of the movie still manages to display the struggle of a schizophrenia person base on this movie.
Devon reaches Sydney where he Meet's Soul a man who has issues like himself , soul helps him with his search through Sydney. soul dose not like to be touched by other people
I actually think this is a nice movie, the love chase of Devon into the wild one of those beautiful ending of a romance movie.
I cried at the end of this move in my opinion the writer and director really sent out a message with this movie, I'm in love with this
