Ya se que ya varias personas han reseñado ésta película pero yo quiero dar mi opinión que nadie me pidió. Debo iniciar advirtiendo que éste post contiene spoilers y que Disney antes era icónico y ahora es... pues Disney.

Realmente dado a que Disney ha estado bien creativo (léase con saracasmo) no esperaba nada de ésta película, y la verdad, no es la peor película del mundo, pero tampoco es una obra maestra, el premio al peor live action creo que se lo sigue llevando Mulan (2020), siento que ésta película tiene varias cosas que sienten como falta de cariño. Quiero decir que ésta es mi opinión personal y si a ti que estás leyendo te gustó la película está perfecto.
Empezaré hablando del CGI, y perdón, pero se ve terrible, para mi es bastante incómodo de ver, a simple vista se ve que le pegaron las caras de los actores a sus cuerpos de mitad pez, y vamos, yo entendería si fuese una producción independiente, pero es Disney, y ésta película costó 250MDD sin contar publicidad (que ya que estamos, jamás vi tanta publicidad como con ésta película, casi casi que la vi completa con cada avance que subía Disney) películas como la primera de Las Crónicas de Narnia se ve bastante mejor su CGI y es una película de hace 18 años, y al dia de hoy se sigue viendo bastante bien, se supondría que a día de hoy se supone que tendría que verse de calidad, no digo que haga algo como Avatar, pero un poco de amor a sus producciones no vendría mal. ¿Y que fue eso con Sebastián y Flounder? Al menos Sebastián está aceptable, pero Flounder, parece que está pidiendo ayuda porque se lo está llevando la mala vida.

Las actuaciones... emm, ¿qué decir de ésto? Realmente no sé cuál fue el problema aquí, no se si fue dirección, o si es que los actores sólo fueron por su pago y ya, para mí, la única que si le puso el alma fue la actriz Jessica Alexander (Vanessa) y eso que salió como 2min en una película de 2 horas. El príncipe lo único que me inspiró fue sueño, Javier Bardem como Tritón no impone nada, el Tritón de la animada tiene una presencia impresionante, impone respeto, recuerdo decir de broma con mi amado que fuese quedado mejor Jason Momoa como Tritón porque si tiene una cara imponente. Melissa McCarthy como Úrsula fue un "meh" para mí, aunque fue de las mejorcitas debo decir. Halle Bailey... es una excelente cantante la verdad, cómo actriz, pues... no se, sólo he visto este trabajo actoral de ella y, no se si fue ella o fue culpa de la dirección, recuerdo que la Ariel de la animada era muy expresiva y siento que le faltó, y a consecuencia de eso, le metieron relleno de canciones que las cantaba en su mente.

Hay cosas que siento que no tienen mucho sentido como el hecho de que Úrsula en el hechizo le haya hecho olvidarse de que le tenía que dar un beso a Eric para que no fuese una esclava de por vida, y ok, en ésta película es mas tramposa, lo que siento que no tiene sentido es con Ariel, si a ella ya le gustaba Eric, entonces le querria dar un beso sin importar que sepa o no que necesita ese beso, digo, no se si soy solo yo ya que siempre quiero besar a mi amado, ¿No fuese sido mejor que hiciera que no le gustara Eric? Si alguien me puede iluminar se lo agradecería. La parte de Pobres Almas en Desgracia (que ya saben, quitarln una gran parte de la letra) siento que quedó como un vacío, porque nunca le dice que le tiene que pagar con la voz (y luego de eso vienen esas líneas, que ustedes ya saben cuáles son) y luego sigue la canción y dice "solamente es tu voz" y en serio repetí varias veces esa parte a ver si fuí yo la que no escuchó y no, no hay un momento en el que le dice que le pague con la voz. Para mi no tuvo sentido que un pescador la llevara al Castillo, porque, sólo es un pescador ¿Qué tiene que hacer en el castillo? Y fue cómo "encontré a ésta muchacha que sufrió un naufragio, tengan" más sentido tiene que el mismo príncipe la haya encontrado en la animada porque él vive en el castillo. Tampoco siento que tenga mucho sentido que Ariel haya matado a Úrsula al final, porque primero siento que en la animada quedan a mano ya que Ariel lo había salvado antes, también que él era el que sabía como funcionaba un barco, tenía bastante experiencia en eso, pero quién soy yo para criticar a mujeres empoderadas.

En fin, ésta es igual que la animada con escenas extras innecesarias creo, le restó el que le hayan quitado ésa parte de "Pobres Almas en Desgracia" por lo que mencioné anteriormente, creo que ningún live action es realmente necesario, y no digan que ésta es uns actualización para las nuevas generaciones porque ésto es un mero lucro con la nostalgia, las nuevas generaciones ya que las nuevas vieron la animada gracias a la anterior generación y así sucesivamente.
The costumes were terrible, and I mean, maybe they wanted Ariel and Eric to look humble and share with the people, but they really couldn't do something nicer for Ariel?
