A series out of its depth
A completely incomprehensible, crazy, nonsensical series, but that grabs you, keeps you there, intrigued, entertained, wanting to keep watching how it all goes, because well, at the end of the day it always ends up surprising you with a new episode.
Can you imagine living in a city where every day something different happens? between crimes, serial killers, gang wars, hidden mysteries, clandestine clubs, teenagers who behave as if they were adults, with a life full of espionage, sex, violence, among other things.
Well this and much more is what we can see in this series, in this intriguing town called RIVERDALE, where the protagonists are a group of young teenagers, which will be involved in solving every mystery, every strange event that happens in this place, all to stay and keep this small town safe and stable, but with so many things happening there, it's a little difficult.
Riverdale, is a series that shows the life of five teenagers, who while they finish their studies at school, go through different difficulties, between family problems, love, and secrets, where all this leads them to solve murder cases, unexplained mysteries, and they are the only ones who seek to keep their town out of these dangers that always stalks them.
Like a musical parody
Seen from the outside, it sounds like a common series, like any other, however, it is not at all, because at the end of the day, it ends up surprising you with each episode, when you think they can't add more things, then you realise that yes, between musical shows, murders, robberies, to the point of becoming superheroes, with their superpowers, in short, a mixture of a bit of everything.
This in itself, sounds like a rice with mango, like when you are creating a new recipe, but you have no idea what ingredients to use, and you put in the first thing you find, you go mixing, until you find the way that each one is molded, in order to give a single flavor, can you do that?
Well this is what we will see in this series, being that, from the first season, we will see something that makes sense, that intrigues you and makes you curious, although as the events unfold, you are thinking, but what madness is this, however, you are still there, entertained, wanting to continue to see how all this madness ends.
Based on a comic book
When I started watching this series, I had no idea that it was based on a comic book, called Archie Comics, where the stories are based in this town of Riverdale, telling the adventures of Archie and his group of friends, this being a fictional place, created precisely to give rise to this fantasy adventure of Archie, with his faithful companions and friends.
I imagine that this series was made, telling in a different way, more extensive and problematic, the different situations in which this group of young people were involved, and I say extensive, because the series has already been running for 7 seasons, where the last one is still in development, it has not been completed yet.
I can say that the first season is very intriguing, it has its mystery, which it manages to solve, but still, it gives rise to continue with the next, and when you think that everything ends there, well, no, get ready because they put new acts, new events, where this part reminds me of this famous meme:
It's like that; as I said before, when you think there can't be any more, that's when they show you and say, yes we can, make yourself comfortable, now we've got something to cut, it reminds me of the novels about snakes, where the main characters wouldn't get out of one to get into another.
Fun, mystery, horror and fantasy
Without a doubt this series has a little bit of everything, if you ask me in which category you can place it, I wouldn't know how to tell you, because as I mentioned, it encompasses almost everything, here we can see crime scenes, killers on the loose, clandestine fights, magic, parallel universes, in short, all kinds of crazy, weird and extroverted stories that you can imagine.
It is a story of drama, suspense, sinister, and to give it the final touch, with a musical, and I'll be honest I hate musicals, they stress me out, when they showed that part I had to fast forward it, because I can't stand it, but I have to confess that despite all this, I was still there watching it, because, believe it or not, the series has a something that catches you, hooks you and keeps you there.
Let's talk about the characters
To tell you a little about the characters, we have Archie, which as you may have read, is the protagonist of this story, a young, handsome and muscular boy, who with his good boy face conquered them all, there was no girl who refused his charms, if we see from another point of view, we can say that he was like a womanizer, because he ended up with one and immediately got into the other.
But as I said, the guy has his thing, you can't deny him, how can you resist those muscles, and that striking reddish hair, not to mention that he's the superhero of the story.
On the other hand, there are the redhead's loyal and loving friends, Betty and Veronica, two completely different teenage girls, but who managed to get along from the very first moment they met, forming a great friendship.
Betty could be said to be the nerdy, intelligent and judicious girl, who didn't break a dish, but with that little face like I didn't do it, she could fool anyone, she was always involved in everything, she considered herself the super spy, she knew everything, she solved everything, sometimes it stressed me out, it was all so absurd, but I suppose that's what it was all about, her being the most skilful and cunning, to solve these mysteries.
Veronica, the strawberry, rich girl, was the new girl, just moved to this town, a pretty, flirtatious girl, who captivated the muscular Archie, she has to deal with her father's past, all his crimes, transforming her life completely, and as a teenager, she managed to set up her own clandestine business.
Jughead, on the other hand, was Archie's best friend, always together, since they were very young, in this part, he liked to read and create stories, that's why his main role, was to write the different eventualities that happened in this mysterious town of Riverdale, a quiet boy but with a lot to tell.
Cheryl, the popular girl of the school, as we all know, there is always one who is superior, unique, and better than everyone, well this young girl, started like that, she was the cheerleader and organizer of the events at school, the famous dances, which always do there, and although at the beginning her role was something simple, as the seasons go by this is changing, and she is transforming. I can say that, out of all of them, Cheryl had her spark, her magic touch, entertaining, one of the main protagonists, who manages to help Archie and his faithful friends in many ways.
Well, to conclude, it's not bad, but it's not the best either, it entertains you, it makes you laugh, with every absurd and extroverted thing that comes out, it's good to pass the time, a rather long soap opera, a bit trite, if you like this kind of stories, go ahead, watch it and tell me what you thought.

Una serie fuera de sí
Una serie completamente incomprensible, loca, sin sentido, pero que te atrapa, te mantiene allí, intrigado, entretenido, con ganas de querer seguir viendo como transcurre todo, porque bueno, a final de cuenta siempre te termina sorprendiendo con algún episodio nuevo.
¿Te imaginas vivir en una ciudad, donde cada día sucede algo distinto?, entre crímenes, asesinos en series, guerras entre pandillas, misterios ocultos, clubes clandestinos, adolescentes que se comportan como si fueran adultos, con una vida llena de espionajes, sexo, violencia, entre otras cosas más.
Bueno esto y mucho más es lo que podemos visualizar en esta serie, en esta intrigada ciudad llamada RIVERDALE, donde los protagonistas son un grupo de jóvenes adolescentes, los cuales se verán envueltos en resolver cada misterio, cada suceso extraño que ocurra en este lugar, todo por permanecer y mantener a este pequeño pueblo seguro y estable, pero con tantas cosas que suceden allí, es un poco difícil.
Riverdale, es una serie que muestra la vida de cinco adolescentes, que mientras culminan sus estudios, en el colegio, pasan por distintas dificultades, entre problemas familiares, de amor, y secretos, donde todo esto los lleva a resolver casos de asesinatos, misterios inexplicables, siendo ellos los únicos que buscan mantener su ciudad fuera de estos peligros que los acecha siempre.
Como una parodia musical
Visto desde afuera, suena como una serie común, como cualquier otra, sin embargo, no lo es del todo, porque a final de cuentas, te termina sorprendiendo con cada episodio, cuando piensas que no le pueden meter más cosas, allí te das cuenta de que si, entre show musical, asesinatos, robos, hasta el punto de convertirse en superhéroes, con sus superpoderes, en fin, una mezcla de todo un poco.
Esto de por sí, suena como un arroz con mango, como cuando estás creando una receta nueva, pero no tienes ideas de qué ingredientes usar, y le metes lo primero que encuentras, vas mezclando, hasta encontrar la forma de que cada uno se vaya amoldando, con el fin de dar con un solo sabor, ¿se puede hacer eso?
Bueno esto es lo que veremos en esta serie, siendo que, desde la primera temporada, veremos algo con sentido, que te intriga y te da curiosidad, aunque a medida que transcurren los hechos, vas pensando, pero qué locura es esta, sin embargo, sigues allí, entretenido, con ganas de querer seguir viendo como termina toda esta locura.
Basada en un comics
Cuando comencé a ver esta serie, no tenía idea de que se basaba en unos comics, llamado Archie Comics, donde las historias se basan en este pueblo de Riverdale, contando las aventuras de Archie y su grupo de amigos, siendo este, sitio ficticio, creado precisamente para dar lugar a esta fantasiosa aventura de Archie, con sus fieles compañeros y amigos.
He aquí, que sacaron esta serie, contando me imagino de otra forma, más extensa, y problemática, las distintas situaciones en las que se veían involucrado este grupo de jóvenes, y digo extensa, porque ya la serie lleva 7 temporadas, donde la última aún está en desarrollo, no ha salido completa.
Puedo decir, que la primera temporada, es muy intrigante, tiene su misterio, que se logra resolver, pero que igual, da pie, para continuar con la siguiente, y cuando crees que allí termina todo, pues no, prepárate porque le meten nuevos actos, nuevos eventos, donde está parte me hace recordar a este famoso meme:
Es así; como les dije anteriormente, cuando piensas que ya no puede haber más nada, es cuando te muestran y te dicen, si podemos, ponte cómoda, que ahora es que tenemos tela que cortar, me recuerda a las novelas culebreras, que los protagonistas no salían de una para entrar en otra.
Divertida, misteriosa, terror y fantasía
Sin duda esta serie tiene de todo un poco, si me preguntan en qué categoría la puedes ubicar, no sabría decirles, porque como ya les mencioné, engloba casi todo, aquí podemos ver escenas de crímenes, asesinos a sueltos, peleas clandestinas, magia, universos paralelos, en fin, todo tipo de historia loca, rara y extrovertida, que se puedan imaginar.
Es una historia de drama, suspenso, siniestra, y para darle el toque final, con musical, y les soy sincera odio los musicales, me estresan, cuando pasaban esa parte me tocaba adelantarla, porque no lo soporto, pero tengo que confesar que a pesar de todo esto, aún seguía allí viéndola, porque, aunque no lo crean, la serie tiene un no sé qué, que igual te atrapa, te engancha y te mantiene allí.
Hablemos de los personajes
Para hablarles un poco de los personajes, tenemos a Archie, el cual como habrán leído, es el protagonista de esta historia, un chico joven, guapo y musculoso, que con su carita de niño bueno las conquistaba a todas, no había ninguna chica que se negara a sus encantos, si vemos desde otro punto de vista, podemos decir, que era como un mujeriego, porque terminaba con una y enseguida se metía con la otra.
Pero como dije el chico tiene lo suyo, no se le puede negar, como resistirse a esos músculos, y ese cabello rojizo y llamativo, sin dejar de mencionar que es el superhéroe de la historia.
Por otra parte, están las amigas fieles y enamoradas de este pelirrojo, Betty y Verónica, dos jóvenes adolescentes completamente distintas, pero que de igual forma lograron compaginar desde el primer momento en el que se conocieron, formando así, una gran amistad.
Betty se puede decir que es la chica nerd, inteligente y juiciosa, que no rompía un plato, pero con esa carita de yo no fui, engañaba a cualquiera, siempre andaba metida en todo, se consideraba la super espía, todo lo sabe, todo lo resuelve, a veces me estresaba, era tan absurdo todo, pero supongo que de eso se trataba, que ella lo resolviera, siendo la más hábil y astuta, para resolver estos misterios.
Verónica, la chica fresa, ricachona, era la nueva, recién mudada a este pueblo, una chica guapa y coqueta, que cautivo de una al musculoso Archie, le toca lidiar con el pasado de su padre, todos sus delitos, transformando su vida por completo, y siendo una adolescente, logro montar su propio negocio clandestino.
Jughead, por otra parte, era el mejor amigo de Archie, siempre juntos, desde muy chicos, en esta parte, le gustaba leer y crear historias, por eso su papel principal, era escribir las distintas eventualidades que ocurrían en este misterio pueblo de Riverdale, un chico callado pero con mucho que contar.
Cheryl, la chica popular del colegio, como bien sabemos, siempre hay uno que se la da de superior, único, y mejor que todos, bueno esta joven chica, empezó así, era la animadora y organizadora de los eventos en el colegio, los famosos bailes, que siempre hacen allí, y aunque al principio su papel fue algo simple, a medida que transcurren las temporadas esto va cambiando, y ella se va transformando. Puedo decir, que de todas, Cheryl tenía su chispa, su toque mágico, entretenido, una de las principales protagonistas, que logra ayudar de muchas formas a Archie y sus fieles amigos.
Bueno, a todas estas, para concluir, no es mala, pero tampoco es la mejor, te entretiene, te da risa, con cada cosa absurda y extrovertida que sale, sirve para pasar el rato, un culebrón bastante extenso, un poco trillado, si te gustan este tipo de historias, adelante, mirala y me dices que tal te pareció.
