I watched this movie yesterday, the cover art caught my attention. I also thought a movie starring Richard Gere would be nice. And it was a really good movie. It's a pretty old movie made in 2002. While watching the movie, I enjoyed the technology of those times, the fact that mobile phones were not widespread, and that clothing and fashion were more free-spirited and more regular than now.

If I were to summarize the movie;
Edward and Connie are married and live far from the city with their 8-year-old son. They have a marriage going well. One day a very intense storm hits the city and it becomes impossible to walk with the wind. Because she works in the city, Connie is exposed to this wind and she crashes into a man with the bags in her hand in an alley. This man is Paul. Paul is a handsome man who buys and sells books, who is much younger than Connie. At the time of the collision, Connie tries to stop a taxi, while Paul is carrying around a stack of books. Books scatter on the floor and fall to the ground one after another. It is also difficult to get up from the wind and continue on, and Connie has injured her knee and is bleeding. Paul tries to stop a taxi for Connie, then invites her to his nearby apartment to dressing.

The next day, she goes back to Paul's house and gets together with Paul, even though she says she can't do it herself. That same day, Edward realizes that his wife had lied to him yesterday.

In the following days, the woman begins to do things she has never done before, neglects her husband and child, tells lies and buys herself new clothes, and goes to Paul all the time. Edward is aware of this alienation. Connie, on the other hand, is very happy and pleasant with Paul.

In the meantime, Paul dies in blood. The phone rings and Connie says in a voicemail that she's done with this relationship, that she's tired of lies and cheating on her family. Edward finds out about this and starts destroying the body and evidence while he is going to turn himself in. And it removes everything.

She burns her photos with Paul that night and wants to choose to take a taxi that day. Edward comes by the fireplace and says he's thinking of surrendering, but Connie says they can get over it.

The movie was good, yes. Director Adrian Lyne left us in a very good dilemma, which one will they choose in the end? While watching the movie, I always found myself getting angry with the woman. We have seen how much this thing that she thought was love could actually harm her and her family. It was a sad story but not boringly crafted, so my rating is 7/10.
