On a day when you just feel like doing nothing, kicking back and enjoying some mindless humor here's something you should watch- People Just Do Nothing. Yes, that's that actual title and the show!
Sometimes when you're taking a quick break from work, travelling or having a meal, you feel like watching something.
light. Well for me that's how it started until my wife and I got hooked onto it!
What started off as short self-made web series on YouTube, it featured on BBC and also won a Bafta award.
It's a show based in Brentford in West London where a couple of Mc's and their friends run a pirate radio station that plays Drum N Bass and UK Garage music.
You don't have to necessarily be into Drum N Bass or Garage. music to enjoy the series.
The characters get high mock each other, play music and fool around. While some of the roles they play seem a little exaggerated (well it is a mocumentary!) funny thing is I've met at least one person or have one friend who is or has done something like they do.
On the other hand, the character MC Grindah actually has some great skills on the mic.
The crew have a funny relationship with one another where a lot of times a person would take the other for granted where that person would find themselves in a ridiculous position.
Without giving away too much one such example is when the guys start a night club in an abandoned building and make one of their crew members Steve a toilet attendant who hands out pieces of toilet paper to guests when they use the loo while everyone else enjoys the party. Steve's totally cool with it!
What I also like is two of the main characters Mc Grindah and DJ Beats have a funny relationship with their girlfriends and by extension their girlfriends' kids.
The series goes on for 5 seasons and there is a movie also where the crew go to Japan to perform.
I did mention there is some quality MC'ing. The guys also produce a music video- Heart Monitor Riddem
