Lo he venido diciendo desde hace un tiempo, las series de Apple no tienen ningún tipo de comparación con las del resto de las plataformas y es que hasta los momentos no he visto la primera serie que sea regular, ni siquiera mala, producida por esta gente. Todas, absolutamente todas, son de una una calidad sobresaliente y Silo no es la excepción, de hecho y porque no tengo ganas de seguir creando expectativas, esta ciencia ficción es de las mejores producciones que he visto este año, tiene todos los números para convertirse en la mejor serie de este 2023 si es que ya no lo es. Una historia increíble, buen elenco, una ambientación de 10 y unas sensaciones al verla que generan más que curiosidad.
I've been saying it for a while now, Apple's series have no comparison with the rest of the platforms and so far I have not seen the first series that is regular, or even bad, produced by these people. All of them, absolutely all, are of an outstanding quality and Silo is no exception, in fact and because I do not want to keep creating expectations, this science fiction is one of the best productions I've seen this year, it has all the numbers to become the best series of this 2023 if it is not already. An incredible story, a good cast, a great setting and sensations when watching it that generate more than curiosity.
Es una historia en donde estaremos en una constante lucha por querer saber más, por querer saber que es lo que se esconde detrás de ciertas pantallas o que ocultan ciertas personas. Todo esto va a crear un ambiente tenso que va a perturbar la tranquilidad de esa comunidad y es que lo que menos se quiere es que hayan alteraciones de orden público, la idea es que todos vivan tal cual se ha hecho durante décadas. Es una trama que engancha desde el episodio uno en donde la intriga es la bandera y que será imposible que dejen de ver. Como dije ya es de las producciones mejor valoradas del año y cuando la vean no podrán estar más de acuerdo con eso. Pero bueno, vayamos entonces y hablamos un poco de que va esta buena serie.
It is a story where we will be in a constant struggle for wanting to know more, for wanting to know what is hidden behind certain screens or what certain people are hiding. All this will create a tense atmosphere that will disturb the tranquility of the community and the least we want is that there are disturbances of public order, the idea is that everyone lives as it has been done for decades. It is a plot that engages from episode one where intrigue is the flag and it will be impossible to stop watching. As I said it is already one of the best rated productions of the year and when you see it you can't agree more with that. En principio esta historia no inicia con Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) pero es la gran protagonista acá. El Silo es lo que es, una estructura que está enterrada a cientos de metros bajo tierra en donde hombres como mujeres han logrado construir una sociedad durante décadas. Nadie sabe quien construyó el Silo, ni el por qué, ni por qué no pueden salir a la superficie; lo único que saben es que NO pueden salir a menos que cada quien lo pida voluntariamente. Es un lugar que tiene ciertas normas y reglas bastante particulares que tiene como objetivo mantener el orden y protegerse los unos a los otros, o por lo menos eso es lo que les hacen creer...
At first this story does not begin with Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) but she is the main protagonist here. The Silo is what it is, a structure that is buried hundreds of feet underground where men and women have managed to build a society for decades. No one knows who built the Silo, nor why, nor why they cannot come to the surface; the only thing they know is that they CANNOT come out unless they voluntarily ask to do so. It is a place that has certain very particular rules and regulations that are intended to maintain order and protect each other, or at least that's what they are led to believe...
Juliette es una ingeniera, de las más capaces que tiene el Silo, la cual lleva una vida tranquila como muchos otros que hacen vida en aquel lugar hasta que pasa el hecho que desencadena todo: sufre la perdida de una persona importante para ella. A partir de acá empiezan las dudas y las desconfianzas ya que aquella muerte se dio bajo extrañas circunstancias, hay algo que no le termina de encajar que viene relacionado con un par de personas, el alcalde y su esposa, que son los primeros en sembrar la duda en Jules. Lamentablemente no será el único que pierda la vida lo que convertirá al Silo en un lugar inseguro y lleno de rumores. Aquí es donde comienza la intriga por dar con los culpables mientras intentan descubrir que esconden los que controlan aquel lugar en relación al mundo exterior.
Juliette is an engineer, one of the most capable that the Silo has, who leads a quiet life like many others who live in that place until the event that triggers everything happens: she suffers the loss of an important person for her. Como les comenté esta es una historia que es especialista en dejar intranquilos a los espectadores porque a través de todos los niveles que tiene el Silo, que son más de 140, los rumores se esparcen muy rápido lo que al final genera cierta incomodidad en las personas que manejan el lugar. Mucha gente cree saber quienes son los que llevan las riendas del Silo pero la verdad es que no es tan obvio como parece, hay una estructura de poder rara que está empeñada en ocultar cosas, no se sabe muy bien el por que y eso es uno de los puntos fuertes de la trama, el ir poco a poco armando un rompecabezas con pistas que van surgiendo. Y ojo, todo esto bajo la clandestinidad ya que este tipo de búsquedas e investigaciones son ilegales.
As I told you, this is a story that specializes in making the spectators uneasy because through all the levels of the Silo, of which there are more than 140, rumors spread very quickly, which in the end generates some discomfort in the people who run the place. Many people think they know who are those who hold the reins of the Silo but the truth is that it is not as obvious as it seems, there is a strange power structure that is determined to hide things, it is not clear why and that is one of the strengths of the plot, gradually putting together a puzzle with clues that emerge. And beware, all this under the clandestinity since this type of searches and investigations are illegal.
La ambientación y la fotografía es de las cosas más top de esta serie, es impresionante como gracias a estos elementos es mucho más fácil sumergirse en la trama. No hay grandes efectos especiales por lo que lo dicho anteriormente viene a ser el gran respaldo de esta historia, es un entorno bastante oscuro, gris y triste, creería que hecho adrede, para mantener un poco a raya los niveles emocionales de los habitantes del Silo. El detalle es que para uno el espectador se hace difícil de asimilar como esas personas viven de esa manera pero hay que recordar que esa es la única realidad que conocen, ese es el mundo que sus ojos han visto más allá de la gran pantalla que hay en la cafetería que muestra como es el mundo exterior, uno aparentemente desolado y destruido.
The setting and photography is one of the top things of this series, it is impressive how thanks to these elements it is much easier to immerse yourself in the plot. There are no great special effects so that what was said before comes to be the great support of this story, it is a rather dark, gray and sad environment, I would believe that done on purpose, to keep a little at bay the emotional levels of the inhabitants of the Silo. The detail is that for the viewer it becomes difficult to assimilate how these people live that way but we must remember that this is the only reality they know, that is the world that their eyes have seen beyond the big screen in the cafeteria that shows what the outside world is like, one that is apparently desolate and destroyed.

Los 10 capítulos están hechos para que el drama sea máximo, no es mentira cuando les digo que el enganche es brutal. A medida que va pasando la trama la intriga crece, llegas a sentir miedo por el hecho de estar siempre vigilado, hay una persecución silenciosa lo que general que las personas sientan miedo de tan solo hablar y es que si, parece que las paredes tienen oídos. Pero lo más interesante son los personajes, todos y cada uno de ellos tienen un contexto y trasfondo que hace que la historia sea más atractiva y profunda. Unos buscan la verdad a toda costa mientras otros buscan proteger los intereses personales y los propios de Silo, esto marca sus personalidades al punto de que puedes llegar a sentir empatía u odio, depende cual sea el caso.
The 10 chapters are made for maximum drama, it is not a lie when I say that the hook is brutal. As the plot goes on the intrigue grows, you get to feel fear for the fact of always being watched, there is a silent persecution which generally makes people feel afraid of just talking and yes, it seems that the walls have ears. But the most interesting are the characters, each and every one of them has a context and background that makes the story more attractive and deep. Some seek the truth at all costs while others seek to protect their personal interests and Silo's own, this marks their personalities to the point that you can feel empathy or hatred, depending on the case.
Jules es una mujer con los pantalones bien puestos, sin miedo a nada, comprometida con llegar al fondo de todo, cueste lo que le cueste. Desafía a todo el mundo en nombre de la verdad; un personaje muy top la verdad. Hay otros interesantes. Robert Sins (Common) es uno de los jefes del orden jurídico, es un tipo duro y despiadado, siempre con una actitud cuestionable y con excesos de autoridad. Actúa bien, a mi no me gustó pero creo que es algo personal pero es el típico personaje detestable que siempre es vital y hace falta. Y Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) es el alcalde encargado, es un camaleón porque nunca sabes cuales son sus verdaderas intenciones, por momentos crees que está de un lado pero en un abrir y cerrar de ojos te das cuenta de que no. Otro buen personaje. En realidad todos son excelentes y necesarios, no hay un personaje que no valga la pena. Especial atención al primer alcalde y a su esposa.
Jules is a woman with her pants on, afraid of nothing, committed to getting to the bottom of everything, whatever it takes. She challenges everyone in the name of truth; a very top character indeed. There are other interesting ones. Robert Sins (Common) is one of the heads of the legal order, he is a tough and ruthless guy, always with a questionable attitude and with excesses of authority. He acts well, I didn't like him but I think it's a personal thing but he's the typical obnoxious character that is always vital and needed. And Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) is the mayor in charge, he is a chameleon because you never know what his true intentions are, at times you think he is on one side but in the blink of an eye you realize he is not. Another good character. Actually all of them are excellent and necessary, there is not a character that is not worthwhile. Special attention to the first mayor and his wife.

Le doy un 9/10, la serie es extraordinaria. No tiene puntos flojos. La forma en como termina es un golpe duro porque te deja con más dudas e intrigas que nunca, es algo que vas a buscar entender y créeme que no vas a poder. Ya está confirmada segunda temporada por lo que nos queda esperar. La puedes encontrar en Apple TV+, consta de 10 capítulos de unos 45-50 minutos cada uno. Se la recomiendo a todos, por favor, si pueden échenle un ojo, vale la pena en cantidades industriales. Por acá el tráiler.
I give it a 9/10, the series is extraordinary. It has no weak points. The way it ends is a hard blow because it leaves you with more doubts and intrigues than ever, it's something you will try to understand and believe me you won't be able to.
