Hello friends, good vibes to all.
There are series that should be getting much more attention and one of them is Paradise. I started watching it because it was recommended to me and I can say that it looks like it will be one of the best of the year both for its story and plot as for its cast, one full of actors and actresses nominated and Emmy winners and Sterling K. Brown and Julianne Nicholson know very well how to give great performances. This series is a kind of dystopian thriller in a time where the world as we know it no longer exists. You could say it has a lot of intrigue, suspense and drama. It may be similar to things that have been done before but it is still an extraordinary series.
It all begins in a fairly quiet and peaceful community on the sides of Colorado, a city where only the most prominent and prominent people in the country are present. One day that harmony is broken with the news of a murder, but not just any murder, no, we are talking about the death of the President of the United States. As expected that event breaks with everything and begins an exhaustive investigation where in the middle of it is Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) who is the head of the secret service and who may be one of the suspects. All this is about to open a pandora's box that will endanger the stability of that place.
And I talk about stability because the secrets surrounding that city are very big, so much so that they could change the destiny and course of a country forever. In the very first chapter you will begin to understand a little bit of everything and it is that in it they already present what is that city really helping to increase the intrigue and the desire to continue watching, here there are many cliffhanger. The basis of the series and although it sounds repetitive are the secrets, everything will move around them and the people who hide them. In the end what there is is a political plot full of conspiracies to seek to control the whole place.
I'm telling you that it's impossible to get bored watching this series, something happens every episode. One of the things that caught my attention is the way they give us context, here they tend to use a lot of flashbacks, we are always traveling to the past to understand the present and their behavior. The characters are obviously the essence of everything and to know the background of their actions it is necessary to know how they ended up in the position they are in today. On the one hand, and on the other hand, there is also in the air the doubt about what really happened in the world, what are the people who control that place hiding? - All these doubts you will have as a spectator.
The acting level is very good, to see Julianne Nicholson act is incredible, her role in the series is that of the boss of everything, the one who pulls the strings and knows exactly what happens there, she is known as Sinatra. Very sober, she is a character that you really come to detest but she has a particularity and it is that you also empathize with her for everything that she has had to live, you understand where everything we see can come from. Sterling also solves it very well, he is a grieving father that the only thing he seeks is to protect his children while discovering everything that is under the carpet. The truth is that the whole cast is very good, there are very valuable performances.
A series that has it all, action, conspiracies, drama and intrigue, lots of intrigue. As the second season has been confirmed, we understand why it has such an open ending. There is a lot to solve, several plot twists made the whole series even more enjoyable; a real gem. It has 8 episodes and is on Disney+. I give it an 8.5/10. I leave the trailer below.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
