Hello everyone, fans of good stories, how are you doing? Today I want to talk about a series that is quite well known! That's right, I'll talk about my opinions and first impressions of the first two episodes of House of The Dragon. This series has come back stronger than ever... I was thinking a lot about whether to do these reviews or not, last week I was going to do a post talking about the first chapter, but I thought it was more convenient to do it when the second one will be released and make have a little more to talk about, and thus make a more complete review. I hope you like this new format.
Clearly, in order to talk in a more comfortable way, this review will have spoilers, so I hope you have already seen these chapters! This second season starts in a great way, from the beginning of the episode you can see how the production has raised the visual quality, and obviously the narrative as well... As always, MAX's series have amazing photography. And the direction continues to maintain that dark and dramatic tone that characterizes this interesting universe.
Hola a todos, fanáticos de las buenas historias. ¿Cómo están? El día de hoy quiero hablar de una serie que es bastante conocida! Así es, les hablaré de mis opiniones y primeras impresiones de los primeros dos capítulos de House of The Dragon. Esta serie ha vuelto con más fuerza que nunca.. Estaba pensando mucho en sí hacer estas reseñas o no, la semana pasada iba a hacer un post hablando del primer capítulo, pero pensé que era más conveniente hacerlo cuando se estrenará el segundo y hacer tener un poco más de que hablar, y así hacer una reseña más completa. Espero les guste este nuevo formato.
Claramente, para hablar de manera más cómoda, esta reseña tendrá spoilers, así que espero ya hayan visto estos capítulos! Esta segunda temporada arranca de una manera genial, desde el comienzo del episodio se nota como la producción ha elevado la calidad visual, y obviamente la narrativa también.. Como siempre, las series de MAX tienen una fotografía increíble. Y la dirección sigue manteniendo ese tono oscuro y dramático que tanto caracteriza a este interesante universo.
In the first episode, we find the main characters dealing with the aftermath of the tragic events of the previous season. We see our rightful queen, Rhaenyra Targaryen, played masterfully by Emily D'Arcy being deeply affected by the death of her son. The intensity of her grief is felt, with simple glances or gestures transmit you all the sentimentality and pain she feels, the scene on the beach, where she sees the remains of the dragon, were very sad... This shows Emily's great ability to convey complex emotions. On the other hand, we also saw how Deamon is still the ruthless scoundrel he is, and how he is thirsty for revenge. His impulsive character, although somewhat understandable, is also questionable at a certain point as he lacks the ability to have a cooler head... but hey, that's just the way he is and when he sets his mind to something, it's very hard to stop him.
On the other hand, we see Alicent dealing with all the chaos that her family has become, she is clearly worried about the repercussions that her son's actions will bring... she looks quite vulnerable, and her attempts to maintain control are pathetic and even funny. It's very noticeable where Aegon's delusions of grandeur are going, and how he really doesn't have much idea of what it means to be king or lead a kingdom... And well, the climax comes soon, since obviously Deamon was not going to do nothing, so he sends some mercenaries to kill Aemond Targaryen... So these with little effort manage to infiltrate the castle.. quickly, they decide to wreak havoc on the royal family, and the whole scene is full of tension, it is very palpable.. and when they reach the queen Helena, uff.. was very dramatic, and it was very sad to see how she had to choose between the lives of their children.
It was a heartbreaking moment.. see how they cover the mouth of the child, and seconds later see Helena run while listening to the sounds.. shows us how clearly here there is no mercy to anyone. It is a clear reminder that here in this world no one is truly safe, and it is sad how once again, an innocent sadly died through no fault of their own... And to top it all off, watching this poor girl get to her mother and see how while her mother was coming, the boy was leaving, was a little funny, but it also made me angry haha.
En el primer episodio, nos encontramos con los personajes principales lidiando con las consecuencias de los eventos trágicos de la temporada anterior. Vemos a nuestra legítima reina, Rhaenyra Targaryen, interpretada magistralmente por Emily D'Arcy estar profundamente afectada por la muerte de su hijo.. La intensidad de su dolor se siente, con simples miradas o gestos te transmiten todo el sentimentalismo y dolor que siente, la escena de la playa, donde ve los restos del dragón, fueron muy tristes.. Esto muestra la gran capacidad de Emily para transmitir emociones complejas. Por otro lado, también vimos como Deamon sigue siendo el canalla implacable que es, y como está sediento de venganza. Su carácter impulsivo, aunque de cierta manera entendible, también es cuestionable en cierto punto al no tener la capacidad de tener la cabeza más fría.. pero bueno, así es él y cuando se propone a algo, es muy difícil pararlo.
Por otro lado, vemos a Alicent lidiando con todo el caos que se ha vuelto su familia, está claramente preocupada por las repercusiones que traerán los actos de su hijo.. se le ve bastante vulnerable, y sus intentos de mantener el control resultan patético y hasta graciosos. Se nota mucho para donde van los delirios de grandeza de Aegon, y como en realidad no tiene mucha idea de lo que significa ser rey o liderar un reino... Y bueno, el clímax llega pronto, ya que obviamente Deamon no se iba a quedar sin hacer nada, por lo que envía a unos mercenarios a matar a Aemond Targaryen.. Por lo que estos con poco esfuerzo logran infiltrarse al castillo.. rápidamente, se deciden en causar estragos en la familia real, y toda la escena está llena de tensión, es muy palpable.. y cuando llegan a donde la reina Helena, uff.. fue muy dramático, y fue muy triste ver cómo tuvo que elegir entre la vida de sus hijos.
Fue un momento bien desgarrador.. ver cómo le tapan la boca al niño, y segundos después ver a Helena correr mientras se escucha los sonidos.. nos muestra como claramente aquí no hay piedad ante nadie. Es un claro recordatorio que aquí en este mundo nadie está verdaderamente a salvo, y es triste como de nuevo, un inocente lamentablemente murió sin tener culpa de nada.. Y para rematar, ver a esta pobre chica llegar a donde su madre y ver cómo mientras ella se venía, el niño se iba, fue un poco gracioso, pero también me enojo jaja.
In the second episode, all the intensity continues. The series wastes no time and at once immerses you in these situations of conspiracy and games, where it's all about showing who really has the power. The struggle for the throne intensifies more and more... we see how Aegon is really affected by the death of his little son, of his heir... and how blinded by grief, he wants to see the world burn, and never better said. The series continues to shine in balancing the plots of the main characters, with the supporting characters, allowing each to have their moments. As for the performances, they are incredible, the whole cast is very good... they show truly believable pain. And we are not only talking about the greens, in DragonStone there are also their moves, as Queen Rhaenyra is informed about what happened, and how they are blaming her for everything that happened, while she had no idea what was going on..
We see how she confronts Deamon and tells him her truths haha, it was long overdue.. and well, this discussion scene between these husband and wife is great, again the actors shine doing a great job, transmitting all the tension and distrust, which ends with Deamon's fighting cock leaving from there. One aspect that I really liked is how in this season they are taking us to new locations, and clearly they are focusing on internal conflicts, but we also see more perspectives of other characters that at least did not have so much prominence before as is the case of Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, hopefully he will continue to have more prominence. And as always, it is interesting to see how the political pieces are being played in this story.
En el segundo episodio, continua toda la intensidad. La serie no pierde el tiempo y de una vez te sumerge en estas situaciones de conspiración y juegos, donde se trata de mostrar quién tiene realmente el poder. La lucha por el trono se intensifica cada vez más.. vemos cómo Aegon está realmente afectado por la muerte de su pequeño hijo, de su heredero.. y como cegado por el dolor, quiere ver el mundo arder, y nunca mejor dicho. La serie sigue brillando en equilibrar las tramas de los personajes principales, con los secundarios, permitiendo que cada uno tenga sus momentos. En cuanto a las actuaciones, son increíbles, todo el elenco es muy bueno.. muestran un dolor realmente creíble. Y no solo hablamos de los verdes, en DragonStone también hay sus movidas, ya que la reina Rhaenyra es informada sobre lo sucedido, y como le están echando la culpa de todo lo ocurrido, mientras ella no tenía idea de lo que estaba pasando..
Vemos como enfrenta a Deamon y le dice sus verdades jaja, ya hacía falta.. y bueno, esta escena de discusión entre estos espositos es genial, de nuevo los actores se lucen haciendo un gran trabajo, transmitiendo toda la tensión y desconfianza, lo que termina con gallo de pelea de Deamon yéndose de ahí. Un aspecto que me gustó mucho es como en esta temporada se nos están llevando a nuevas ubicaciones, y claramente se están centrando en conflictos internos, pero también vemos más perspectivas de otros personajes que al menos no tuvieron tanto protagonismo antes como es el caso del príncipe Jacaerys Velaryon, ojalá siga teniendo más protagonismo. Y como siempre, es interesante ver cómo se van jugando las piezas políticas en esta historia.
Another point to highlight is the music... it serves a lot to convey the emotions and is very well positioned at the right moments. This makes it a great accompaniment to the atmosphere... And well, as expected, the hatred towards Sir Criston Cole only grows and grows... it was very obvious how he was affected by what happened and how it was projected on the others, trying in this way I imagine to feel less guilt (?) And not only that, but he orders Sir Arryk to go kill Rhaenyra, and of course he has no choice but to go. . all so that in the end there was a fight between the twins where none of them survived, all because of the idiot Criston Cole... and not only that, but he went to Aegon to tell him about his master plan and the fool did what he did was to promote him, taking away the position of "Hand" from Otto to give it to Cole...
But not before the good Otto told him his truths... what a pleasure I felt when he left him in his place, and told him what I'm sure we all think of him... And well, then we see how desperately Alicent wants to tell someone about her sexual affair, and how Otto applies the classic: "not right now daughter, I'm not interested, there are more important things" sublime. And well... we'll see what else is presented to us, there are many unresolved questions, we'll see what will happen with these two sides...
Otro punto a destacar es la música.. sirve mucho para transmitir las emociones y está muy bien posicionada en momentos justos. Esto hace que acompañe genialmente la atmósfera.. Y bueno, como era de esperarse, el odio hacia Sir Criston Cole solo va creciendo y creciendo.. fue muy obvio como se vio afectado por lo sucedido y como se proyectó en los demás, tratando de esta manera imagino que sentir menos culpa (? Y no solo eso, sino que ordena a Sir Arryk a ir a matar a Rhaenyra, y claro a este no le queda más opción que ir.. todo para que al final hubiera una pelea entre los gemelos donde ninguno sobrevivió, todo por culpa del idiota de Criston Cole.. y no solo eso, sino que fue a donde Aegon a hablarle de su plan maestro y el tonto este lo que hizo fue ascenderlo, quitándole el cargo a Otto de "Mano" para dárselo a Cole..
Pero no sin antes el buen Otto decirle sus verdades.. que gusto sentí cuando lo dejó en su lugar, y le dijo lo que seguro todos pensamos de él.. Y bueno, luego vemos cómo desesperadamente Alicent quiere contarle a alguien sobre su aventura sexual, y como Otto le aplica la clásica de: "ahorita no hija, no me interesa, hay cosas mas importantes" sublime. Y bueno.. Veremos qué más se nos presentan, quedaron varias preguntas sin resolver, veremos que pasará con estos bandos..
For me these first episodes left me very satisfied, production wise, as expected, everything is meticulously sharpened to deliver an amazing visual experience.. the dragons look helpless and cool. In these chapters there was a great balance between action and character development.... There are decisions and sacrifices that each character will have to face.... The evolution of our queen Rhaenyra is very good, showing how pain can shape a person.... Also being in this universe, there is a lot of brutality and violence, scenes with a lot of rawness.. something classic, but very much appreciated from this universe.
I love how they not only focus on entertaining, but also seek to provoke an emotional response in the viewer... I have high expectations for this season, I hope it will not disappoint and that it will be a good trip through this fantasy world... just by seeing the chemistry between the actors, you can tell that what is coming will be very good. A mí estos primeros episodios me dejaron muy satisfecho, en cuanto a producción, como era de esperar, todo está meticulosamente afiliado para ofrecer una experiencia visual increíble.. los dragones se ven impotentes y geniales. En estos capítulos hubo un gran equilibrio entre acción y desarrollo de personajes.. Hay decisiones y sacrificios que cada personaje deberá enfrentar.. La evolución de nuestra reina Rhaenyra es muy buena, mostrando como el dolor puede moldear a una persona.. También al tratarse de este universo, hay mucha brutalidad y violencia, escenas con mucha crudeza.. algo clásico, pero que se aprecia mucho de este universo.
Me encanta como no se centran solo en entretener, sino que también buscan provocar una respuesta emocional en el espectador.. tengo algas expectativas de esta temporada, espero no le decepcione y que sea un buen viaje por todo este mundo de fantasía.. con sola ver la química entre los actores, se nota mucho que lo que se viene estará muy bueno. Y pues creo que sin mucho más que decir, espero que esta reseña/opinión les haya gustado, nos veremos dentro de algunos días para hablar más de esta gran serie. ¡Cuídense mucho, nos vemos!
