Mis queridos amigos, el día de hoy estaré dando mi opinión general, y tocando un poco un tema muy discutido dentro del cine en la actualidad, y es que, a estas alturas ya nada nos tiene conformes, si la película no es idéntica a la animación, no nos gusta, y si es completamente igual, tampoco nos gusta. Por eso hoy estaré refiriéndome un poco a este tema, y que mejor que hacerlo, que con mi película animada favorita de Disney llevada a Live Action: El Rey León.
My dear friends, today I will be giving my general opinion, and touching a little bit on a very discussed topic in movies nowadays, and that is that, at this point nothing makes us happy, if the movie is not identical to the animation, we don't like it, and if it is completely the same, we don't like it either. That's why today I'm going to talk a little bit about this topic, and what better way to do it than with my favorite Disney animated movie brought to Live Action: The Lion King.

Estoy seguro de que casi todos hemos visto la película animada de, El Rey León, y si no la has visto ¡pues vaya! deberías verla. Ya sea que veas la animada o la versión Live Action, prácticamente son la misma historia. El Live Action de Disney, corre bajo la dirección de Jon Favreau, quien anteriormente nos trajo, El Libro de la Selva, y Iron Man, entre otras.

Debo decir que con esta cinta Live Action, es muy difícil ser inmune a la ternura y a la nostalgia, de los recuerdos que evocan esta película. La verdad es que, cuando inicia, la primera secuencia que dura alrededor de tres a cuatro minutos, la cual es una calca exacta del arranque de la animación, pues la verdad no puede evitar sentir bastante nostalgia.
Ahora, que esta sensación se mantenga latente durante el desarrollo de todo este live action, pues es algo que va subiendo y bajando, pero la verdad es que de primer momento va atrapando tu atención, debido a esa nostalgia, porque evoca recuerdos de cuando la vimos por primera vez en animación, y la verdad es que la ternura al ver por primera vez, cobrar vida a estos animales, pues simplemente es muy maravilloso.
I'm sure almost all of us have seen the animated Lion King movie, and if you haven't, well, you should see it. Whether you see the animated or the Live Action version, they are pretty much the same story. Disney's Live Action is directed by Jon Favreau, who previously brought us The Jungle Book and Iron Man, among others.

I must say that with this Live Action film, it is very difficult to be immune to the tenderness and nostalgia of the memories that this movie evokes. The truth is, when it starts, the first sequence that lasts about three to four minutes, which is an exact copy of the beginning of the animation, you can't help but feel quite nostalgic.
Now, that this feeling remains latent throughout the development of this live action, it is something that goes up and down, but the truth is that from the first moment it catches your attention, because of that nostalgia, because it evokes memories of when we saw it for the first time in animation, and the truth is that the tenderness to see for the first time, come to life to these animals, it is simply very wonderful.
Algo que particularmente escuche decir a otras personas, que no les gustó tanto el live action, es por la falta de movilidad en los rasgos de los personajes. Claramente, desde mi punto de vista, los personajes están basados más a la realidad, por ejemplo: no llegamos a ver a los animales sonreír, poner caras de tristeza o enojo, sino más, como ver a un animal común y corriente en la vida real. Y eso puede ser uno de los principales factores que aleje al espectador de conectar con lo que está sucediendo, a diferencia de la versión animada donde todo es más explícito, con emociones más latentes y palpables.
Resulta que, para mí eso no fue algo contra producente, es verdad que en la animación esas emociones son más tangibles, y llegan más rápido al corazón y a la mente, por las características que dotan a sus animales. Sin embargo, ahí es cuando resalto otro punto importante, y es el trabajo que se realizó en la vocalización, porque sin la necesidad de que hagan tantos gestos, la voz, la intención los tonos y demás, son suficientes para reflejar si el personaje está feliz, triste, o enojado, así que para mí eso no es un punto en desventaja.
Sinceramente no recuerdo cuando fue la última vez que llegue a ver la animación del Rey León, pero es una película que creo que todos tenemos muy presentes. Y, lo que, si note que logra el director a través de estos nuevos personajes llevados a la realidad, es volver a generar momentos climáticos, en cuanto a esas situaciones emblemáticas como, la muerte de Mufasa, la primera presentación de Timon y Pumba, entre otros.
Y la verdad es que, a pesar de que ya sabes que va a pasar, y es uno de los defectos en los que se puede volver un poco aburrida y tediosa, porque ya conocemos la historia. Aun con eso para mí funcionaron muy bien, logran llevarnos y traernos nuevamente a la historia, y posicionarnos en un lugar vulnerable, donde estas emociones están nuevamente emergiendo, realmente es muy difícil no sentir nada por lo que está sucediendo.
Something that I particularly heard from other people, who did not like the live action, is the lack of mobility in the characters' features. Clearly, from my point of view, the characters are based more on reality, for example: we don't get to see the animals smile, make sad or angry faces, but more like seeing an ordinary animal in real life. And that may be one of the main factors that keeps the viewer away from connecting with what is happening, unlike the animated version where everything is more explicit, with more latent and palpable emotions.
It turns out that, for me that was not something against productive, it is true that in animation those emotions are more tangible, and come faster to the heart and mind, by the characteristics that endow their animals. However, that's when I highlight another important point, and that is the work that was done in the vocalization, because without the need for them to make so many gestures, the voice, the intention, the tones and so on, are enough to reflect whether the character is happy, sad, or angry, so for me that is not a disadvantageous point.
I honestly don't remember when was the last time I got to see the Lion King animation, but it is a movie that I think we all have very much in mind. And, what I do notice that the director achieves through these new characters brought to reality, is to re-generate climactic moments, in terms of those emblematic situations such as the death of Mufasa, the first presentation of Timon and Pumba, among others.
And the truth is, even though you already know what's going to happen, and that's one of the flaws where it can get a little boring and tedious, because we already know the story. Even with that for me they worked very well, they manage to take us and bring us back to the story, and position us in a vulnerable place, where these emotions are again emerging, it's really very difficult not to feel anything for what is happening.
Ahora, haciendo un poco de énfasis en esos momentos climáticos, que como dije anteriormente, ya sabes lo que va a pasar, debido a que prácticamente la película, es un cuadro por cuadro casi idéntica a la original, y es por ello que para algunos, llega a perderse un poco la emoción de: que es lo que ocurrirá ahora. Por lo cual difícilmente, durante toda la película, no tendrás esa emoción de preguntarte, que va a pasar, porque ya lo sabemos. Y allí es cuando, en mi opinión, se pierde la identidad o la propuesta del director.
Sin embargo, hay directores que tienen un sello muy característico, en el cual logran recrear una historia ya existente, pero de una manera más innovadora. Por otro lado aquí, es exactamente una copia y pega de esta historia, de los personajes, la música, la ambientación, prácticamente todo. Por lo cual, creo que no hay un rasgo de identidad particular que resalte en esta película. Y son tan solo algunos pequeños momentos de esta cinta, que se giran más a ese entorno documental, que hace énfasis en el ciclo de la vida, donde podemos abrir espacio a un poco más de interpretación.
Es por ello que, cuando había una escena que no era común o que no conocíamos, a mí en lo particular me gustaba, ya que hacían la historia un poco más impredecible, pero aun así es exactamente la misma historia. Así que, si lo que buscas es exactamente eso, nada de sorpresas, que cambiaran el guion, o algún personaje, eso es justamente lo que veras en este live action.
Now, making a little emphasis on those climactic moments, that as I said before, you already know what is going to happen, because practically the film is a frame by frame almost identical to the original, and that is why for some, it gets a little lost the excitement of: what is going to happen now. So you will hardly, during the whole movie, not have that thrill of wondering, what's going to happen, because we already know. And that's when, in my opinion, the director's identity or proposal is lost.
However, there are directors who have a very characteristic stamp, in which they manage to recreate an existing story, but in a more innovative way. On the other hand, here, it is exactly a copy and paste of this story, the characters, the music, the setting, practically everything. So, I think there is no particular identity trait that stands out in this movie. And it's just a few small moments in this film, which turn more to that documentary environment, which emphasizes the cycle of life, where we can open space for a little more interpretation.
That's why, when there was a scene that was not common or that we didn't know, I particularly liked it, because it made the story a little more unpredictable, but still it's exactly the same story. So, if that's exactly what you're looking for, no surprises, no script changes, no character changes, that's exactly what you'll see in this live action.
Aun así, para mí prácticamente no la considere como una mala película a pesar de lo que digo, es más una opinión general de cómo fue esta recreación live action, de la cinta animada. En realidad, me gusto bastante y la disfrute mucho, pero sinceramente en lo personal me quedo con la versión animada, definitivamente marco bastante mi infancia, y debo decir que esta película me hizo recordar lo maravilloso que es la versión animada, y como no le pasan los años por encima.
Un punto importante a destacar, y creo que es obvio decirlo, el trabajo en la producción de efectos especiales, la puesta en escena de manera digital, el pelaje de los animales, eso definitivamente me exploto la mente, creo que todo quedo espectacular, allí si destacaron demás. De hecho, creo que no hay ni una escena que no sea generada a computadora, que no me haya gustado, todo se ve súper realista, y los escenarios son por demás hermosos, definitivamente aquí es donde considero que esta película es lo máximo.
Even so, for me I practically do not consider it as a bad movie despite what I say, it is more a general opinion of how this live action recreation of the animated film was. Actually, I liked it a lot and I enjoyed it a lot, but honestly personally I prefer the animated version, it definitely marked my childhood, and I must say that this movie made me remember how wonderful the animated version is, and how the years don't pass over it.
An important point to highlight, and I think it is obvious to say it, the work in the production of special effects, the digital staging, the fur of the animals, that definitely blew my mind, I think everything was spectacular, there if they highlighted more. In fact, I don't think there is a single scene that is not computer generated that I didn't like, everything looks super realistic, and the scenery is beautiful, definitely here is where I consider this movie to be the best.
Personally, I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10. I liked it a lot, but for me, nothing like the animated version.
