Hello Everyone. Last week, a friend recommended that I checked out the 2021 Sci-fi movie, Voyager. Some close friends know how much I love Sci-fi movie most especially those with Space settings and this was a great way to end my weekend. I had to checked the actors who starred in the movie first an then checked out the trailer. Yeah, I kinda judge movies by reputation of the actors. Doesn't always turn out to be the best form of Judgement but it has been helpful in saving me some valuable time in the past.
PS: This articles contains a lil bit of spoilers.
Tye Sheridan and Collin Farrell both caught my attention and then I checked the trailer which had a pretty creative story line. With the end of humanity on Earth coming closer, a group of young men and women were born in labs (in-vitro fertilization) and nutured with hopes that they'll get to another habitable planet like earth and set up a colony.
This was a really creative idea that got me hooked at around the first 20 minutes of the movie. These young men and women were raised to become the very best of humanity intellectually.
Collin Farell ( Richard) who embarked on the journey with the young astronauts was the only naturally born human on the spaceship. The mission of the astronauts was to ensure the continuity of the human race and journey to a new planet where humans would colonize. Unfortunately, the planet is so far that none of them would be alive to get there so they were meant to give birth and with proper timing, their grandkids were the ones arrive on this planet.
The mission included the administeration of a liquid "BLUE" which had components that reduced emotions and feelings of the crew. The were no desires and everything went smoothly until some crew members found out the mission had kept this a secret from them. Series of events took place on.the ship which led to death of Richard. Most of crew members stopped taking the "BLUE" liquid and started developing feelings and emotions like rage, happiness, hurt, love etc.
I'll stop with the spoilers her but must commend the creativity of the director in so many areas like the idea of how to get the young astronauts for the mission whose sole purpose of birth was the mission. The idea of the Blue seemed great and I loved the weapons that was found close to end of the movie.
I'd rate this movie 7/10. It's a great movie with cool CGI effects but it was all about teenagers after Richard died. I didn't very much like that. But I loved how the movie ended even amidst the chaos on the ship.
Here's the trailer to the movie .
