Welcome dear internet travelers lovers of animation and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, it has been a while since I saw this film but honestly I was waiting for there to be no 5 daily reviews of it and that people already had their own opinion of the tape to be able to debate since it gives for it, if you have lived under a stone then I clarify that I am talking about "Turning Red" a film that divided both the critics and the viewers in general and it is time to make an impartial review to make everything clear. Just get ready to let out your red panda since we are about to start.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de la animación y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, ha pasado un tiempo desde que vi esta película pero sinceramente estaba esperando a que no hubiera 5 reseñas diarias de ella y a que las personas ya tuviesen una opinión propia de la cinta para poder debatir puesto que la misma da para ello, si han vivido debajo de una piedra entonces les aclaro que hablo de “Turning Red” una película que dividió tanto a la crítica como a los espectadores en general y es momento de hacerle una reseña imparcial para dejar todo claro. Sin más que agregar prepárense para dejar salir su panda rojo puesto que estamos por comenzar.

Turning red was released in March of this year, directed by Domee Shi and produced by Pixar Animation Studios, has a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is an animated comedy and fantasy film that introduces us to Meilin 'Mei' Lee a Canadian girl of 13 of Asian descent who lives in Toronto, is an exemplary student with very high grades who together with her mother attends the family temple, has 3 best friends who are: Miriam, Priya and Abby. One of the tastes she shares with her friends is the fact of being very fanatical of a pop group called "4 Town" which will visit her city and logically the girls want to attend the concert, very much to the misfortune of Mei discovers at a bad time that for generations the women of the family have the gift of becoming huge red pandas at a certain age and the transformation is caused by strong emotions, so she will have to face herself to have self-control and manage to maintain a normal life.
Turning red fue estrenada en marzo de este año, dirigida por Domee Shi y producida por Pixar Animation Studios, posee una duración de 1 hora y 40 minutos. Se trata de una cinta animada de comedia y fantasía que nos presenta a Meilin "Mei" Lee una niña canadiense de 13 de ascendencia asiática que vive en Toronto, es una estudiante ejemplar con muy altas calificaciones que en conjunto con su madre atiende el templo familiar, tiene 3 mejores amigas que son: Miriam, Priya y Abby. Uno de los gustos que comparte con sus amigas es el hecho de ser muy fanáticas de un grupo pop llamado “4 Town” el cuál visitara su ciudad y lógicamente las niñas desean asistir al concierto, muy para la desgracia de Mei descubre en mal momento que por generaciones las mujeres de la familia tienen el don de convertirse en enormes pandas rojos llegada cierta edad y la transformación es provocada por emociones fuertes, por lo que deberá enfrentarse a sí misma para tener autocontrol y lograr mantener una vida normal.

It is Pixar so obviously the soundtrack will be spectacular since each song fits perfectly with the moment of the film, being an important element and worked excellently to make the scenes much more immersive.
Es Pixar por lo que obviamente la banda sonora será espectacular puesto que cada canción encaja perfectamente con el momento de la cinta, siendo un elemento importante y trabajado de forma excelente para hacer las escenas mucho más inmersivas.

As with the soundtrack, the animation is simply spectacular, full of details and colors that make each scenario feel extremely vibrant and alive.
Al igual que con la banda sonora la animación es sencillamente espectacular, plagada de detalles y colores que hacen sentir cada escenarios sumamente vibrantes y vivos.

The world building sells itself as something very remarkable and spectacular but the truth is that it ends up being quite incomplete, the mystical past of Mei's family is extremely interesting but it is explored very little since it only stands out that they have a mystical heritage due to the gods and ready to make details scarce. Apart from that, the rest of the context it raises are generic since it is all that can be expected from a film starring a girl with things that girls usually overvalue, nothing important to highlight.
La construcción de mundo se vende a sí misma como algo muy destacable y espectacular pero la verdad es que termina siendo bastante incompleto, el pasado místico de la familia de Mei es sumamente interesante pero se explora muy poco puesto que solo se destaca que tienen una herencia mística debido a los dioses y listo haciendo que escaseen los detalles. Fuera de ello el resto de contexto que plantea son genéricos puesto que es todo lo que se puede esperar de una cinta protagonizada por una niña con cosas que las niñas suelen sobrevalorar, nada importante que destacar.

The plot is a very important point since it puts on the table a very interesting topic on the table At what point do children begin to look for their own way? Although it is a theme that gives for a lot of play, it handles it in a horrible way since it totally antagonizes the mother figure by unjustifiably labeling her as an antagonist when in some moments she is totally right but in the same way her position is demonized. As I mentioned, the concept of looking for one's own path and making decisions is part of growing up since it tries to reflect that concept of maturing again but unfortunately something so interesting is overshadowed due to the excessive prominence that is given to the fact of challenging parents.
La trama es un punto bastante importante puesto que pone sobre la mesa un tema muy interesante sobre la mesa ¿En qué momento los niños empiezan a buscar su propio camino? Si bien es una temática que da para mucho juego la maneja de forma horrible puesto que antagoniza totalmente a la figura materna tachándola injustificadamente como antagonista cuando en algunos momentos tiene totalmente la razón pero de igual forma su postura es satanizada. Como bien mencione el concepto de buscar un camino propio y de tomar decisiones forma parte de crecer puesto que se intenta reflejar nuevamente ese concepto de madurar pero desgraciadamente algo tan interesante es opacado debido al excesivo protagonismo que se le da al hecho de desafiar a los padres.
Finally there is the most obvious of the film and it is the fact that it consists of the parallelism that Mei's panda has with female development, the problem with this is that it is too obvious the comparison it tries to give since it is very unsubtle on the subject, it is not that it is something that should be taken with tweezers because it is something natural but the way it is Treatise is too trivial to be taken seriously so an interesting topic ends up being totally wasted.
Por último está lo más evidente del filme y es el hecho de que consiste en el paralelismo que tiene el panda de Mei con el desarrollo femenino, el problema con este es que es demasiado obvia la comparación que intenta dar puesto que es muy poco sutil sobre el tema, no es que sea algo que deba ser tomado con pinzas debido a que es algo natural pero la forma en la que es tratado es demasiado trivial como para tomárselo en serio por lo que un tema interesante termina siendo totalmente desperdiciado.

This is the section in which he believed that the film suffers more but let's go in parts, Mei is a girl lacking personality and easily influenced by her friends, this leads her to such an extent that she stops doing the things she liked like spending time with her mom and getting good grades to fit more with her friends, it is easy to feel identified with it since it represents that premature stage in which we are barely knowing ourselves, identified tastes and passions but the fact that it represents that idea does not make it a good character; Ming is a somewhat strict mother who seeks to protect her daughter from the different dangers of the world and in turn raise her with good values such as respect, responsibility and respect for traditions, unfortunately the antagonistic role that is given to her makes the character only relegated to being considered unpleasant but being completely the opposite.
Este es el apartado en el que creó que la película sufre más pero vamos por partes, Mei es una niña carente de personalidad y fácilmente influenciable por sus amigas, esto la lleva a tal punto que deja de hacer las cosas que le gustaban como pasar tiempo con su mamá y sacar buenas calificaciones para encajar más con sus amigas, es fácil sentirse identificado con ella puesto que representa esa etapa prematura en la que apenas estamos conociéndonos a nosotros mismos, identificados gustos y pasiones pero el hecho de que represente esa idea no la hace un buen personaje; Ming es una madre un poco estricta que busca proteger a su hija de los diferentes peligros del mundo y a su vez criarla con buenos valores como el respeto, la responsabilidad y el respeto por las tradiciones, lamentablemente el rol antagónico que se le da hace que el personaje solo quede relegado a ser considerado desagradable pero siendo completamente lo contrario.
Miriam, Priya and Abby are simply the worst friends in the world since they influence Mei in a negative way by inciting her to lie, hide her tastes and distrust her parents, being even that they use her to get money for the happy concert, it is funny even that Ming defines them as bad company for her daughter and they end up confirming what she had established about them. These are the most remarkable characters and unfortunately all have a poor characterization since their characters themselves are only designed to prove a point.
Miriam, Priya y Abby son sencillamente las peores amigas del mundo puesto que influencian a Mei de forma negativa incitándola a mentir, ocultar sus gustos y desconfiar de sus padres, siendo incluso que la utilizan para obtener dinero para el dichoso concierto, es gracioso incluso que Ming las defina como mala compañía para su hija y estas terminen confirmando lo que esta había establecido de ellas. Estos son los personajes más destacables y desgraciadamente todos presentan un caracterización pobre puesto que sus personajes en si solo están pensados para demostrar un punto.

Turning Red is a film that has an interesting message such as the fact of facing problems using their own criteria to solve them, however the above is quickly passed to the background to focus on the fact of not trusting parents and I sincerely consider it a terrible approach. That is why it deserves a rating of 2 stars out of 7, the focus of the film is simply deplorable and not even its few funny moments are enough to forgive its many failures.
Turning Red es una cinta que tiene un mensaje interesante como es el hecho de enfrentar los problemas usando un criterio propio para resolverlos, sin embargo lo anterior es pasado rápidamente a segundo plano para darle foco al hecho de no confiar en los padres y sinceramente lo considero un enfoque terrible. Es por ello que merece una calificación de 2 estrellas de 7, el foco de la cinta es sencillamente deplorable y ni siquiera sus pocos momentos graciosos son suficientes como para perdonarle sus muchos fallos.
