Welcome dear internet travelers and thanks for making a temporary stop in my post, I am not a big fan of romantic comedies since most of them are boring and lacking in innovation, however I recently came across a film starring Will Smith of the genre called “Hitch” that manages to bring something different to the genre more than just quotes and generic stuff. Without further ado, get ready to enter the world of flirting and dating as we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet y gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, no soy muy amante de las comedias románticas puesto que la mayoría son aburridas y carentes de innovación, sin embargo hace poco me topé con una película protagonizada por Will Smith del género llamada “Hitch” que logra traer algo diferente para el género más que simples citas y cosas genéricas. Sin más que agregar prepárense para entrar al mundo del coqueteo y las citas pues estamos por comenzar.
Hitch was released in 2005, directed by Andy Tennant and produced by Columbia Pictures, has a duration of 1 hour and 58 minutes. It is a romantic comedy, the story revolves around Hitch who during his college days suffered from a heartbreak due to his inexperience with dating and with women, however this more than disappointed decides to become a doctor of love to help good men get opportunities to stay with the girl they love. In one of his works he tries to help Albert Brennaman who is madly in love with a superstar, what he does not know is that this work will also lead him to fall in love with a woman who is as distrustful of love as he is.
Hitch fue estrenada en 2005, dirigida por Andy Tennant y producida por Columbia Pictures, posee una duración de 1 hora y 58 minutos. Es una comedia romántica, la historia gira entorno a Hitch quien durante sus días de universidad sufrió de un desamor debido a su inexperiencia con las citas y con las mujeres, sin embargo este más que decepcionarse decide volverse un doctor del amor para ayudar a que los buenos hombres consigan tener oportunidades de quedarse con la chica que aman. En uno de sus trabajos intenta ayudar a Albert Brennaman quien se encuentra perdidamente enamorado de una súper estrella, lo que no sabe es que este trabajo también lo llevara a enamorarse de una mujer que es tan desconfiada del amor como él.

The characters present a simple and quite basic characterization, they only intend to maintain a personality that fulfills a role within the plot but said personality are perfectly established and executed so they are undoubtedly quite endearing. The characters there are: Hitch is the one who generates the opportunities for Albert which generates a sub-plot between Albert and Allegra (Who is the girl of his dreams) Both represent that innocent and inexperienced love in which they are afraid to take the first step due to the lack of confidence and incompetence about the area. On the other hand you have Sara and Hicth who have doubts about things due to different heartbreaks from the past so they are extremely cautious due to the fear of being hurt; thus showing the 2 sides of the same coin in terms of insecurities when establishing a love relationship.
Los personajes presentan una caracterización sencilla y bastante básica, solo pretenden mantener una personalidad que cumpla un rol dentro de la trama pero dicha personalidad se encuentran perfectamente establecidas y ejecutadas por lo que son sin lugar a dudas bastante entrañables. Los personajes que hay son: Hitch es aquel que genera las oportunidades para Albert lo que genera una sub-trama entre Albert Y Allegra (Quién es la chica de sus sueños) Ambos representan ese amor inocente y carente de experiencia en la que poseen miedo de dar el primer paso debido a la falta de confianza y la impericia sobre el área. Por otro lado se tiene a Sara y a Hicth que tienen dudas de las cosas debido a diferentes desamores del pasado por lo que son extremadamente cautelosos debido al miedo de salir heridos; mostrando así las 2 caras de la misma moneda en cuanto a inseguridades a la hora de establecer una relación amorosa.
The soundtrack is a very remarkable strong point since it adapts to the different circumstances to always be in accordance with the actions and experiences of the characters.
La banda sonora es un punto fuerte muy destacable puesto que se adapta a las diferentes circunstancias para siempre estar en concordancia con las acciones y vivencias de los personajes.
The construction of the world is peculiar for the type of genre to which the film belongs, it does not pose a scenario in which everyone magically gets their soul mate and lives happily ever after, it poses a fairly realistic context with various complications to establish a formal relationship that can be presented under normal conditions, so it is plausible everything it exposes and all those obstacles that the characters have to be able to establish a relationship.
La construcción de mundo es peculiar para el tipo de género al que pertenece la cinta, no plantea un escenario en el que todos mágicamente consiguen a su alma gemela y viven felices para siempre, plantea un contexto bastante realista con diversas complicaciones para establecer una relación formal que se pueden presentarse en condiciones normales, por lo que es plausible todo lo que expone y todos aquellos obstáculos que tienen los personajes para poder establecer una relación.
The plot is achieved in an excellent way since it knows how to alleviate the dramatic and tense moments through excellently achieved comedy, it is very attached to reality by presenting the fact that things may not turn out as expected demonstrating that human relationships can surprise even the most prepared and experienced. While the final outcome is quite predictable, the path that is traveled before this is what makes this film different from the rest. It is simply captivating from the beginning since it induces the viewer to want to appreciate what will be the outcome of the different turns of Turks that it exhibits.
La trama esta lograda de forma excelente puesto que sabe alivianar los momentos dramáticos y tensos mediante comedia excelentemente lograda, es muy apegada a la realidad al presentar el hecho de que las cosas pueden no resultar según lo esperado demostrando que las relaciones humanas pueden sorprender incluso a los más preparados y experimentados. Si bien el desenlace final es bastante predecible el camino que se recorre antes de este es lo que hace diferente a esta cinta del resto. Es sencillamente atrapante desde el inicio puesto que induce al espectador a querer apreciar cual resultara ser el desenlace de los diferentes giros de turcas que exhibe.
None of the characters presents an evolution, however all present a remarkable characterization that gives them their own personality, all must face the fact of wanting to establish a loving relationship with another person but each of them faces differently depending on their personality and their previous experiences; these differences in doing things cause the characters to feel very human because each one establishes his own path to achieve the same goal.
Ninguno de los personajes presenta una evolución, sin embargo todos presentan una caracterización remarcable que les da una personalidad propia, todos deben enfrentarse al hecho de querer establecer una relación amorosa con otra persona pero cada uno de ellos se enfrenta de forma diferente dependiendo de su personalidad y de sus experiencias previas; dichas diferencias de hacer las cosas provoca que los personajes se sientan muy humanos debido a que cada uno establece su propio camino para lograr un mismo objetivo.
Hicth is a romantic comedy that goes out of the conventional due to the different elements it uses both to give it realism and to make it humorous and pleasant, all the above goes hand in hand with its characters so charismatic and pleasant that they make the film simply wonderful. That is why it deserves a rating of 4 stars out of 7, the best thing about the film is the fact that it knows how to make use of comedy at the right times to slow down the focus on drama and romance.
Hicth es una comedia romántica que sale de lo convencional debido a los diferentes elementos que utiliza tanto para darle realismo como para hacerla jocosa y agradable, todo lo anterior va de la mano de sus personajes tan carismáticos y agradables que hacen a la película sencillamente maravillosa. Es por ello que merece una calificación de 4 estrellas de 7, lo mejor de la cinta es el hecho de que sabe hacer uso de la comedia en los momentos correctos para aminorar el enfoque al drama y al romance.
