"Behind every great love is a great story"...I have no idea who said this but I totally agree.
The Notebook is a romance drama based on the novel by Nicholas sparks with the same title. Prior to watching this film I'd heard it being mentioned in some movies I've seen. This happened more than once, naturally it made me curious so I decided to see it.
On seeing it I understood why it was so talked about and I have to agree, it is worth the hype.
"Detrás de cada gran amor hay una gran historia"... No tengo idea de quién dijo esto, pero estoy totalmente de acuerdo.
The Notebook es un drama romántico basado en la novela de Nicholas Sparks con el mismo título. Antes de ver esta película, escuché que se menciona en algunas películas que he visto. Esto sucedió más de una vez, naturalmente me dio curiosidad, así que decidí verlo.
Al verlo entendí por qué se habló tanto de él y tengo que estar de acuerdo, vale la pena el bombo.
The movie is an epic love story centered around two characters, Noah and Allie played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams respectively.
The early scenes in the movie are set in a nursing home where an elderly man, played by the late James Garner, reads the story of two young lovers to a fellow resident, played by Gena Rowlands .
As the story progresses we find out that the two elderly people are actually Noah and Allie in their old age and the story telling is elderly Noah's attempt at pulling Allie out of the severe dementia she was suffering from.
La película es una historia de amor épica centrada en torno a dos personajes, Noah y Allie, interpretados por Ryan Gosling y Rachel McAdams, respectivamente.
Las primeras escenas de la película están ambientadas en un hogar de ancianos donde un anciano, interpretado por el difunto James Garner, lee la historia de dos jóvenes amantes a una residente, interpretada por Gena Rowlands
A medida que avanza la historia, descubrimos que los dos ancianos son en realidad Noah y Allie en su vejez y la historia es el intento del anciano Noah de sacar a Allie de la demencia severa que sufría.
Having the characters tell their own story is brilliant. It adds a non-fictional flare to the overall plot and makes the characters feel more real. It also makes you momentarily forget that the characters are made up and the events in the tale only occurred in the mind of the writer. I feel a little closer to real life characters and this movie had that effect on me despite the characters being very fictional.
Que los personajes cuenten su propia historia es genial. Agrega un toque no ficticio a la trama general y hace que los personajes se sientan más reales. También te hace olvidar momentáneamente que los personajes están inventados y que los eventos del cuento solo ocurrieron en la mente del escritor. Me siento un poco más cerca de los personajes de la vida real y esta película tuvo ese efecto en mí a pesar de que los personajes son muy ficticios.
The Notebook is a really beautiful tale of sappy young romance. The good kind of sappy though, the one that makes you want to know what it feels like to be utterly loved by someone.
The actors really brought the characters to life. Rachel as young Allie was so full of youthful energy, she seemed genuinely fascinated by the littlest things. This gave her an aura of childlike innocence so you'll totally get why Noah fell in love with her.
The Notebook es una historia realmente hermosa sobre un romance joven y cursi. Sin embargo, el buen tipo de cursi, el que te hace querer saber cómo se siente ser completamente amado por alguien.
Los actores realmente dieron vida a los personajes. Rachel, como Allie joven, estaba tan llena de energía juvenil que parecía genuinamente fascinada por las cosas más pequeñas. Esto le dio un aura de inocencia infantil, así que entenderás por qué Noah se enamoró de ella.
On the other hand, young Noah had this quiet, mysterious air about him. Ryan played this role really well. He was really daring, the things he did to get her attention were bold and brave but also contrastingly stupid. I say this because if it hadn't gone the way he'd planned, it probably would've resulted in something severe. But it's a movie and anything is possible so he got away with everything and got the girl in the process. This definitely deserves a ''yay!'' because I'm all for the guy getting the girl in the end.
Por otro lado, el joven Noah tenía ese aire tranquilo y misterioso que lo rodeaba. Ryan interpretó muy bien este papel. Era realmente atrevido, las cosas que hizo para llamar su atención fueron audaces y valientes, pero también contrastantemente estúpidas. Digo esto porque si no hubiera salido como él lo había planeado, probablemente habría resultado en algo grave. Pero es una película y todo es posible, así que se salió con la suya y consiguió a la chica en el proceso. Esto definitivamente merece un "¡hurra!" porque estoy completamente a favor de que el chico se quede con la chica al final.
There weren't any loopholes in the movie for me. It's either this or I was too in love with the film to notice any unfilled gaps in the storyline. You'll be the judge of this though...Dear reader, if you've seen the movie (you are yet to see the movie) I'd like to know if there is any part of it that didn't add up to you (when/if you eventually see it), thank you!
No hubo lagunas en la película para mí. Es esto o estaba demasiado enamorado de la película para notar cualquier vacío sin llenar en la historia. Sin embargo, usted será el juez de esto...Estimado lector, si ha visto la película (todavía no ha visto la película), me gustaría saber si hay alguna parte que no t suma para ti (cuando/si finalmente lo ves), ¡gracias!
In conclusion, my opinion on the movie has already been clearly stated. The only downside is that the movie was somewhat superficial and the characters conveniently got away with everything because the story is made up. I think a lot of things will happen differently if it happens in real life.
This is okay though as movies being a momentary escape from reality shouldn't always embody the very things that make us want to escape in the first place.
En conclusión, mi opinión sobre la película ya ha sido expresada claramente. La única pega es que la película era algo superficial y los personajes se salían con la suya convenientemente porque la historia es inventada. Creo que muchas cosas sucederán de manera diferente si sucede en la vida real.
Sin embargo, esto está bien, ya que las películas, que son un escape momentáneo de la realidad, no siempre deben encarnar las mismas cosas que nos hacen querer escapar en primer lugar.
All in a all, this film is worth every second and I highly recommend you see it if you haven't already. I'd love to read the novel too as books tend to have more details than their movie adaptations. If the film is good then there's a high chance that the book will be better.
I rate the movie a 7.5/10.
En general, esta película vale cada segundo y te recomiendo que la veas si aún no lo has hecho. Me encantaría leer la novela también, ya que los libros tienden a tener más detalles que sus adaptaciones cinematográficas. Si la película es buena, entonces hay muchas posibilidades de que el libro sea mejor.
Califico la película con un 7.5/10.
