¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, éste nuevo formato que ha adoptado Netflix para el estreno de sus series ha hecho que haya tenido que esperar un mes para poder disfrutar por completo de ésta temporada, la cual de hecho esperé con bastantes ansias por tratarse justamente de la pareja que se trataba, porque aunque mi pareja favorita es y será por siempre la de Anthony y Kate, como alguien que leyó los libros, le guardo bastante cariño a la historia de Colin y Penélope, así como a otros hermanos Bridgerton de los cuáles ahora tengo miedo que destrocen 🤷🏻♀️, pero no añadiré nada más y vamos directamente con el desarrollo de ésta opinión 💕🪶.
Hello Hello Community! ✨, this new format that Netflix has adopted for the premiere of its series has made me have to wait a month to fully enjoy this season, which in fact I waited quite anxiously because it was just about the couple it was about, because although my favorite couple is and will always be that of Anthony and Kate, as someone who read the books, I'm quite fond of the story of Colin and Penelope, as someone who read the books, I'm quite fond of Colin and Penelope's story, as well as other Bridgerton siblings which I'm now afraid they will destroy 🤷🏻♀️, but I won't add anything else and let's go straight to the development of this opinion 💕🪶.
🪶 RESUMEN DE LA TEMPORADA || SEASON SUMMARY 💕
Colin y Penélope llevan siendo amigos desde hace años, durante cada temporada hasta ahora los hemos visto interaccionar desde la amistad, o al menos así ha sido para él, porque desde el inicio se nos dejó ver que ella alberga sentimientos románticos hacía él, sin embargo algo ocurre en la temporada pasada que deja a Penélope un poco decepcionada de su amigo, y tras regresar de un período de viajes, Colin llega a Londres con una actitud que en parte irrita aún no a su amiga. En ésta temporada Penélope ha decidido que es momento de casarse, pero un cambio en su look no es suficiente para lograr éste cometido, por lo que Colin se ofrece a ayudarla a encontrar esposo, aunque en el proceso quien termina enamorándose es él 💕.
Ahora que ambos se encuentran en la misma sintonía, albergando sentimientos hacía el otro, el paso siguiente es casarse por lo que comienzan con los respectivos preparativos, no obstante hasta el momento Penélope no ha sido completamente sincera con Colin, pues esconde un enorme secreto que podría ser de gran trascendencia en toda la sociedad, secreto que ahora se encuentra muy cerca de ser expuesto 🪶.
Colin and Penelope have been friends for years, during each season so far we have seen them interacting from friendship, or at least it has been so for him, because from the beginning we saw that she harbors romantic feelings for him, however something happens last season that leaves Penelope a little disappointed in her friend, and after returning from a period of travel, Colin arrives in London with an attitude that partly irritates her friend even more. In this season Penelope has decided that it is time to get married, but a change in her look is not enough to achieve this task, so Colin offers to help her find a husband, although in the process who ends up falling in love is him 💕.
Now that both are in the same tune, harboring feelings towards each other, the next step is to get married so they start with the respective preparations, however so far Penelope has not been completely honest with Colin, because she hides a huge secret that could be of great importance in the whole society, a secret that is now very close to be exposed 🪶.
🪶 HISTORIA DE AMOR PRINCIPAL || LOVE STORY MAIN 💕
Ésta segunda parte arranca exactamente en el mismo punto donde queda la primera, Colin y Penélope bajando del carruaje directo a contarle a la familia de él que están comprometidos, y aunque todos están realmente contentos por ésta noticia, hay alguien que está bastante consternada y no es más que Eloise, ahora bien, ¿Por qué menciono ésto?, porque personalmente pienso que en ésta temporada se reflejaron dos historias de amor, una romántica entre los dos protagonistas, y una de amistad en la cual vemos el viaje desde el conflicto hasta la reconciliación entre Penélope y Eloise, y si me dieran a escoger cual de éstas dos historias fue mi favorita, sin dudarlo diría que fue la segunda 💕.
Personalmente pienso que Colin y Penélope como pareja protagonista de ésta temporada quedan muchísimo en segundo plano, tanto en la primera como en la segunda parte, sin embargo para mí fue más significativo en ésta segunda parte porque ya se trataba de su recorrido al altar y posterior al matrimonio, es decir si en la primera parte aún estamos viendo el camino hacia la aceptación de sus sentimientos (hablando específicamente de Colin), ya aquí espero el recorrido de su relación, y aunque estoy preparada para los conflictos que deben vivir (porque conozco la historia del libro), si es verdad que al menos espero algo de felicidad entre ellos, y no solo discusiones. De hecho, llegó un punto en donde llegué a decir “¡Por Dios Penélope! Ya deja de poner cara de sufrida y llorar”, porque ya estaba obstinada de toda ésta puesta en escena donde solo veíamos a una Penélope sufrir y a un Colin molesto. Y no con ésto quiero decir que el romance se pierda, porque para nada fue así, solo que siendo escenas minoritarias, fueron opacadas por las demás 🤷🏻♀️.
This second part starts exactly where the first one left off, Colin and Penelope getting off the carriage to tell his family that they are engaged, and although everyone is really happy about this news, there is someone who is quite dismayed and it is none other than Eloise, now why do I mention this? Because I personally think that this season reflected two love stories, a romantic one between the two main characters, and one of friendship in which we see the journey from conflict to reconciliation between Penelope and Eloise, and if I were given to choose which of these two stories was my favorite, without hesitation I would say it was the second one 💕.
Personally I think that Colin and Penelope as the main couple of this season are very much in the background, both in the first and in the second part, however for me it was more significant in this second part because it was already about their journey to the altar and after marriage, that is if in the first part we are still seeing the road to acceptance of their feelings (speaking specifically of Colin), and here I expect the journey of their relationship, and although I am prepared for the conflicts they must live (because I know the story of the book), it is true that at least I expect some happiness between them, and not just arguments. In fact, there came a point where I said "For God's sake Penelope! Stop making a long-suffering face and crying", because I was already tired of all this staging where we only saw a suffering Penelope and an annoyed Colin. And I don't mean to say that the romance was lost, because it wasn't at all like that, just that being minority scenes, they were overshadowed by the others 🤷🏻♀️.
🪶 HISTORIAS SECUNDARIAS || SECONDARY STORIES 💕
Si hay algo de lo que está llena ésta temporada, son de historias secundarias 🤦🏻♀️, y aunque no todas sean malas o estén fuera de lugar, la verdad es que podría decir que solo dos fueron relevantes para mí 🤷🏻♀️. La historia de los Mondrich pierde visibilidad en ésta parte de la temporada, sin embargo sus cortas apariciones me siguen pareciendo más bien relleno 🤷🏻♀️, la historia de Benedict con la viuda tal pensé que tendría un trasfondo diferente, y que a través de ella podríamos ver la incorporación del personaje de Sophie, quien en los libros es el interés amoroso de Benedict, pero por el contrario también tuvimos una secuencia de escenas que no aportaron absolutamente nada a la trama de la que yo sospecho será la siguiente temporada, en vez de eso nos dejaron ver cómo es que Benedict es el personaje que menos toman en serio y con quien les gusta jugar al “no sé qué hacer contigo”, al final sus escenas las tuve que saltar porque las sentía que estorbaban y que ni siquiera supieron cómo introducirlas a toda la secuencia escenográfica 🙅🏻♀️.
Ahora bien, algunas personas dicen que la historia de Francesca también la sintieron como relleno, sin embargo yo considero que era oportuna, si bien no para la historia de Colin y Penélope, pero sí para su futura temporada, porque efectivamente aún no hemos presenciado la verdadera historia de Francesca, aunque de ella hablaremos más adelante. La historia de Cressida me pareció bastante interesante, sobre todo porque nos permite ver un arco de su personaje que no se había explorado antes, y que además juega muy bien con las acciones que toma en ésta parte de la temporada y que la hacen ser el personaje con una de las mejores escenas de entrada a un baile 🤣, aún así su final me dejó un mal sabor de boca que espero sea tocado más adelante en las siguientes temporadas.
If there's one thing this season is full of, it's side stories 🤦🏻♀️, and while not all of them are bad or out of place, the truth is I could say that only two were relevant to me 🤷🏻♀️. The Mondrich's story loses visibility in this part of the season, however their short appearances still seem to me more like filler 🤷🏻♀️, Benedict's story with the widow such I thought it would have a different background, and that through it we could see the incorporation of Sophie's character, who in the books is Benedict's love interest, but on the contrary we also had a sequence of scenes that contributed absolutely nothing to the plot of what I suspect will be the next season, instead they let us see how Benedict is the character they take the least seriously and with whom they like to play "I don't know what to do with you", in the end I had to skip his scenes because I felt they were in the way and they didn't even know how to introduce them to the whole scenographic sequence 🙅🏻♀️.
Now, some people say that Francesca's story also felt like filler, however I consider that it was timely, although not for Colin and Penelope's story, but for their future season, because we have not yet witnessed Francesca's true story, although we will talk about it later. I found Cressida's story quite interesting, especially because it allows us to see an arc of her character that had not been explored before, and also plays very well with the actions she takes in this part of the season and that make her the character with one of the best entrance scenes to a ball 🤣, still her ending left me a bad taste in my mouth that I hope will be touched later in the following seasons.
No obstante, mi historia secundaria favorita fue la de la familia Featherington, que de hecho dentro de todas éstas es la que mayor sentido tiene porque la temporada es de Penélope también, y personalmente siento que opacó por completo la trama de romance que se supone era la que debía destacar. No solo le dieron un desarrollo increíble a Portia y Penélope como relación madre-hija, dándoles incluso una de las escenas más sublimes y emotivas de la temporada (con la cual lloré), sino que tanto Prudence como Philippa tienen un recorrido maravilloso como hermanas, dándonos un final en donde son ellas quienes de alguna forma apoyan a Penélope en su gran revelación, y es Penélope quien les brinda a ellas el apoyo que requerían para llevar a cabo cierto sueño, y finalmente una última puesta en escena donde las vemos a las tres gloriosas con las familias que han formado 💕. Aunque la serie se llama Bridgerton, ésta temporada se la ganaron las mujeres Featherington 💕.
However, my favorite side story was that of the Featherington family, which in fact within all of these is the one that makes the most sense because the season is Penelope's as well, and I personally feel that it completely overshadowed the romance plot that was supposed to be the one to highlight. Not only did they give incredible development to Portia and Penelope as a mother-daughter relationship, even giving them one of the most sublime and emotional scenes of the season (which I cried with), but both Prudence and Philippa have a wonderful journey as sisters, giving us an ending where they are the ones who somehow support Penelope in her great revelation, and it is Penelope who gives them the support they required to carry out a certain dream, and finally a last scene where we see the three of them glorious with the families they have formed 💕. Although the series is called Bridgerton, this season was won by the Featherington women 💕.
🪶 EL FINAL: LO BUENO Y LO MALO || THE END: THE GOOD AND THE BAD 💕
De inicio a fin hay algo de ésta temporada que se siente diferente, y es que se nota demasiado el cambio de showrunner y eso lo percaté desde el primer momento, aparte pensé que eran ideas mías pero hace unos días vi la opinión de una chica por tik tok, que concuerda con mi opinión de que ésta temporada se siente barata, y no lo entiendo porque ésta serie es de las más exitosas de Netflix, y aún así muchas cosas se sienten de bajo presupuesto. Aparte toda la historia que se desmonta un poco en el final, para empezar el cambio que le pretenden dar a la historia de Francesca me tiene enojadisima, su libro es de mis favoritos y pretenden cambiarlo por completo por lo que a mí me parece un simple capricho de la showrunner, además toda la historia entre Colin y Penélope se siente un tanto vacía hacía el final, o sea en el momento de la mayor revelación para Penélope, su esposo no le da su apoyo en ningún momento 🤷🏻♀️, construyes una relación tan significativamente linda, que pasa de la amistad al romance, a quienes venimos acompañando desde la temporada 1, ¿Y nos das ese final tan raro?¿Sin una declaración de amor típica de Bridgerton?, sencillamente un final flojo.
From start to finish there is something about this season that feels different, and is that the change of showrunner is too noticeable and I noticed that from the first moment, besides I thought it was my ideas but a few days ago I saw the opinion of a girl by tik tok, which agrees with my opinion that this season feels cheap, and I do not understand it because this series is one of the most successful of Netflix, and yet many things feel low budget. Besides the whole story that is dismantled a bit in the end, to begin with the change they intend to give to Francesca's story has me pissed off, her book is one of my favorites and they intend to change it completely for what seems to me a simple whim of the showrunner, plus the whole story between Colin and Penelope feels a bit empty towards the end, I mean at the moment of the biggest revelation for Penelope, her husband doesn't give her his support at any point 🤷🏻♀️, you build such a significantly cute relationship, that goes from friendship to romance, who we've been following since season 1, and you give us that weird ending? Without a typical Bridgerton declaration of love? simply a weak ending.
Lo mejor de la temporada definitivamente fueron las apariciones de Kate y Anthony, que aunque fueron pocas como era de esperarse, fueron la parte entretenida y oportuna de toda la historia 🤣. El arco de redención que le dieron a Eloise, que justamente fue algo que comenté con la primera parte, y supieron llevarlo a la perfección, dándonos una Eloise con un mejor desarrollo y más centrada, aún así no me gustó la poca solidaridad que ella demostró hacía Cressida justamente en un momento donde ella la necesitaba, me pareció hasta hipócrita la verdad, pero reconozco que le dieron un mayor desenvolvimiento. Sentí a la reina un poco ausente, lo cual no sé si me disgusta o no 🤔. El mayor plus que se llevó ésta temporada fué definitivamente el soundtrack, perfecto en muchísimo sentidos 💕.
The best of the season were definitely the appearances of Kate and Anthony, which although they were few as expected, were the entertaining and timely part of the whole story 🤣. The redemption arc they gave to Eloise, which was just something I commented with the first part, and they knew how to take it to perfection, giving us an Eloise with a better development and more focused, even so I didn't like the little solidarity she showed towards Cressida just at a time when she needed it, it seemed to me even hypocritical the truth, but I recognize that they gave her a greater development. I felt the queen a bit absent, which I don't know if I dislike or not 🤔. The biggest plus this season was definitely the soundtrack, perfect in many ways 💕.
