Como saben, y si no lo saben se los cuento, una de mis series favoritas y de las que más amo es The Crown, y es que el tema de la familia real británica siempre ha capturado mi atención y me ha parecido sumamente interesante, saber cómo incluso en la actualidad es una de las pocas monarquías que no solo sigue vigente, sino que siguen captando la atención del mundo entero y no solo de la población británica. Con la muerte de la reina Isabel II, se aumentó la emoción del púbico por ver la serie, al punto de llevarla al top 10 y mantenerla allí por al menos un par de semanas, con lo cual se esperaba con muchas ansias el estreno de esta nueva temporada, o al menos yo estaba muy emocionada por el estreno, así que aprovechando que al fin pude terminar de verla, les traigo mi opinión sobre esta nueva temporada.
As you know, and if you don't know, one of my favourite series and one of the ones I love the most is The Crown, because the subject of the British royal family has always captured my attention and I have found it extremely interesting, knowing how even today it is one of the few monarchies that not only remains in force, but continues to capture the attention of the whole world and not just the British population. With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the public's excitement to watch the series increased, to the point of taking it to the top 10 and keeping it there for at least a couple of weeks, so the premiere of this new season was eagerly awaited, or at least I was very excited about the premiere, so taking advantage of the fact that I finally finished watching it, I bring you my opinion about this new season.
La serie The Crown fue estrenada el 4 de Noviembre del 2016, esta principalmente escrita por Peter Morgan y es producida por Left Bank Picture y Sony Pictures Television para la plataforma streaming Netflix. La historia básicamente se centra en el reinado de la reina Isabel II desde los años 40 hasta la modernidad, en este sentido cada temporada se ha centrado en periodos de tiempo específicos y ha relatado tanto eventos históricos como eventos personales de la familia real británica, evidentemente la serie cuenta con elementos de ficción, sobre todo cuando se habla de aspectos personales de cada uno de los personajes. Cada dos temporadas se renueva el cast, con el fin de representar los cambios temporales por los que va atravesando la serie, por tal motivo el personaje de la reina Isabel II fue interpretado en las dos primeras temporadas por Claire Foy, en las temporadas 3 y 4 por Olivia Colman y para las temporadas 5 y 6 se cuenta con la participación de Imelda Staunton. La serie culminara con la 6ta temporada.

La temporada se estrenó 9 de Noviembre de este año y arranca tocando 2 aspectos importantes que nos indican hacia donde se va a dirigir la temporada, el primer aspecto es la edad de la reina, ya no tenemos una joven reina como fueron en las primeras temporadas, ni a una reina de edad madura como fue en las temporadas 3 y 4, aquí nos encontramos con una reina cuya salud empieza a menguar, ya no hay la misma vialidad del pasado y al parecer eso también se ve reflejado en su reinado, los ciudadanos británicos comienzan a tildar de anticuado al reinado isabelino, tal parece que preferirían la abdicación de su majestad para darle paso a su hijo Carlos, pues él representa la era moderna que necesita el país, sin embargo esta preferencia puede cuestionarse, y es que ¿realmente quieren ver reinar a Carlos, o lo que verdaderamente quiere ver es a la princesa Diana convertirse en reina consorte?, y es que justamente el primer ministro lo menciona entre los primero capítulos “el mejor activo que tiene el príncipe Carlos, es su esposa”.

Sin embargo, esto último nos lleva a lo que sería el segundo aspecto resaltante de lo que fue la presentación de esta temporada, el matrimonio entre Carlos y Diana esta absoluta y completamente fracturado, y son las constantes polémicas alrededor de este tema lo que están ocasionando constantes crisis para la monarquía británica. La reina se niega a aceptar que las diferencias entre Diana y Carlos son irreparables, y en una falsa esperanza cree que ese matrimonio aún tiene salvación, no es hasta que se salen de control los escándalos en torno a Carlos y las declaraciones de Diana con respecto a su relación, que la monarquía finalmente acepta que lo mejor para ambos y para la Corona es que el divorcio de lleve a cabo, y es justo en ese punto cuando en la serie nos dejan ver como Carlos comienza a perder popularidad entre los ciudadanos para ser el rey, lo que de alguna manera alimenta el cuestionamiento que realicé en el párrafo anterior.

La serie mantiene su espectáculo visual, sigue siendo una serie costosa y eso se ve en cada detalle de la misma, hay actores que capturan a la perfección a su personaje, tal es el caso de Elizabeth Debicki que represento magníficamente al personaje de Diana, sin embargo y hablando con absoluta honestidad, esta temporada es de las que menos me gusto, me pasó lo mismo que con la tercera temporada que la sentí básicamente de relleno, hay capítulos muy buenos, otros que no entendí mucho su finalidad en la trama y otros que comenzaron siendo nulos y sin relevancia y acabaron siendo muy importantes para la historia a contar, no obstante en general la temporada no me atrapo, incluso podría decir que me costó un poco verla, y principalmente siento que se debe a que la historia gira mucho en torno a Carlos y no tanto en la reina, y en parte entiendo que se debe a que él es el sucesor al trono y a que los sucesos de ese tiempo histórico en específico lo involucra en gran medida, pero aun así esperas mayor participación de la reina teniendo en cuenta que ella es la cabeza de la monarquía, y no tenerla con tanta relevancia en la temporada, si genera cierto choque.
The series maintains its visual spectacle, it is still an expensive series and that is seen in every detail of it, there are actors who capture their character to perfection, such is the case of Elizabeth Debicki who magnificently represented the character of Diana, however and speaking with absolute honesty, this season is one that I liked the least, this season is one of the ones I liked the least, it happened to me the same as with the third season that I felt it was basically filler, there are very good chapters, others that I didn't understand their purpose in the plot and others that started being null and without relevance and ended up being very important for the story to be told, However, in general the season did not catch me, I could even say that it cost me a bit to watch it, and I mainly feel that it is because the story revolves a lot around Charles and not so much on the queen, and in part I understand that it is because he is the successor to the throne and that the events of that specific historical time involves him greatly, but even so you expect more participation from the queen considering that she is the head of the monarchy, and not having her with so much relevance in the season, if it generates some shock.
Siento que la temporada 4 dejo mis expectativas muy altas y en pate eso pudo influir en mi gusto por esta temporada, pero de verdad siento que estuvo algo floja y que aparte no hay una continuidad coherente en algunos personajes, me duele enormemente lo que hicieron con la escena del vestido de la venganza, porque yo espere demasiado para ver como representaban eso en la serie, y cuando me muestran la escena y la misma me deja con una sensación de “¿esto fue todo?”, me sentí realmente decepcionada y al inicio pensé que tal vez solo me había pasado a mí, pero revise algunos videos en tik tok de comentaristas de series y películas que me gustan, y descubrí que les había pasado exactamente lo mismo y son estos detalles que pueden parecer insignificantes, los que al final hacen que un producto audiovisual se vuelva memorable o no, en términos generales esta serie es magnífica (y siempre la voy a recomendar), pero mi amor por la misma no me impide aceptar cuando algo me gusta en su totalidad, y eso me pasa con esta temporada, simplemente no me termino de llenar como espectadora.
I feel that season 4 left my expectations very high and that might have influenced my liking for this season, but I really feel that it was a bit weak and that there is no coherent continuity in some characters, it hurts me greatly what they did with the scene of the dress of revenge, because I waited too much to see how they represented that in the series, and when they show me the scene and it leaves me with a feeling of "this was it? "I was really disappointed and at first I thought that maybe it had only happened to me, but I checked some videos on tik tok from commentators of series and movies that I like, and I found out that the exact same thing had happened to them and it's these details that may seem insignificant, In general terms this series is magnificent (and I will always recommend it), but my love for it does not prevent me from accepting when I like something in its entirety, and that happens to me with this season, it just doesn't fill me up as a viewer.
Esta fue mi opinión sobre la 5ta temporada de la serie The Crown, como ya lo mencioné no forma parte de mis temporadas favoritas de esta serie, esos lugares lo seguirán ocupando la temporada 1 y 4, sin embargo con esto no quiero decir que sea mala, tiene episodios buenísimos que vale la pena ver y escenas que de seguro serán memorables para lo que es el recorrido de esta serie, si ya viste la temporada me gustaría sabe si opinas lo mismo que yo o si por el contrario a ti s te gustos, si aún no la viste pues te invito a verla, recuerda que está disponible en Netflix.
