Dystopic movies are in fashion, that is a fact more than verifiable due to the large catalog that we can find on any transmission platform. Some mere copies of others and others with interesting premises that end up being a resounding failure.
In Disomnia we find a movie as in the second case. The premise is quite original. People for unknown reasons stop sleeping and we all know what can happen if we are without rest for long periods of time. The mind begins to react differently, and we can even become violent and begin to hallucinate until we reach death, as is the case with people who suffer from deadly insomnia.
Las películas distopicas están de moda, eso es un hecho más que verificable debido al gran catálogo con el que nos podemos encontrar en cualquier plataforma de transmisión. Algunas meras copias de otras y otras con premisas interesantes que terminan siendo un fracaso estrepitoso.
En Disomnia encontramos una película como en el segundo caso. La premisa es bastante original. La gente debido a razones desconocidas deja de dormir y todos sabemos que puede pasar si estamos sin descansar por largos periodos de tiempo. La mente empieza a reaccionar diferente, pudiéndonos volver incluso violentos y empezar a alucinar hasta llegar a la muerte como es el caso de las personas que sufren de insomnio mortal.
The fact of not being able to sleep seriously affects our brain, leaving us in a kind of twilight between wakefulness and sleep, causing paranoia, hallucinations and involuntary movements. This coupled with a disease that is collective according to the film, produces a disaster with serious consequences.
El hecho de no poder dormir afecta gravemente nuestro cerebro dejándonos en una especie de crespúsculo entre la vigilia y el sueño, provocando paranoia, alucinaciones y movimientos involuntarios. Esto aunado a una enfermedad que es colectiva de acuerdo a la película, produce un desastre de graves consecuencias.
However, there is a slight hope in the film. A little girl who can sleep and in which she is involved in alarming situations because everyone wants to know the secret of that miraculous dream.
The film shows us excessively forced situations since the time between normality and the dystopian situation elapses in a few minutes, the disaster does not wait, leaving huge plot gaps in favor of the execution of the plot.
Sin embargo hay una leve esperanza en la película. Una pequeña niña que si puede dormir y en la que se ve inmiscuida en situaciones alarmantes porque todo el mundo desea saber el secreto de ese sueño milagroso.
La película nos muestra situaciones en exceso forzadas ya que el tiempo entre la normalidad y la situación distopica transcurre en breves minutos, el desastre no se hace esperar dejando de esa manera inmensos huecos argumentales en pro de la ejecución de la trama.
There is no way that a good script can be done in this way and less with a premise that is not explained, that passes with hammer blows without giving the viewer the opportunity to appreciate some detail because it simply does not exist. That is not the worst of the movie either but rather the out of place, unnecessary and forced situations that make the plot a complete ridiculousness.
We have already seen too many films like that, dystopias and post-apocalyptic situations that many of them do not explain well what happens but they leave us with quite realistic situations making us understand future human behavior in complex situations, this is not the case, as less not quite.
No hay manera de que un buen guion pueda hacerse de esta manera y menos con una premisa que no se explica, que transcurre con martillazos sin darle la oportunidad al espectador de apreciar algún detalle porque simplemente no existe. Eso tampoco es lo peor de la película sino más bien las situaciones fuera de lugar, innecesarias y forzadas que hacen de la trama una completa ridiculez.
Ya hemos visto demasiadas películas por el estilo, distopias y situaciones post-apocalípticas que muchas de ellas no explican bien lo que sucede pero nos dejan con situaciones bastante realistas haciéndonos entender un futuro comportamiento humano frente a situaciones complejas, este no es el caso, al menos no del todo.
If there is chaos in the city, the events take place but they should have focused more on the real aspects that occur due to lack of sleep, that is, creating situations and scenes that would indicate more realistically the consequences of that paralysis and why not a more detailed scientific explanation.
I don't know if the directors and scriptwriters wanted to do science fiction, but if they did, they couldn't, they only managed to make a movie with a frenetic pace that I couldn't get my attention. Also the main characters were not very developed, it is not well understood who they are, they are simply part of the plot.
I am not a viewer who likes detailed explanations about what happens in a film, I prefer visual suggestions but in this production there is nothing similar, which leaves the film with huge gaps due to intellectual laziness.
Si existe un caos en la ciudad que transcurren los hechos pero debieron de enfocarse más en los aspectos reales que se producen por la falta de sueño, es decir crear situaciones y escenas que nos indicaran de manera más realista las consecuencias de esa parálisis y porque no una explicación científica más detallada.
No sé si los directores y guionistas deseaban hacer ciencia ficción pero si es así no lo consiguieron, solo lograron hacer una película con un ritmo frenético que no logro captar mi atención. También los personajes principales no fueron muy desarrollados, no se entiende bien quienes son, simplemente son parte de la trama.
No soy un espectador al que le gusten explicaciones detalladas sobre lo que acontece en una película, prefiero las sugerencias visuales pero en esta producción no existe nada similar lo que deja a la película con enormes vacíos por flojera intelectual.
This is another attempt to emulate what has been seen before with films like Bird Box, A quiet Place or the recent Silence but I must say that this would be the worst of all and it is a shame because it had an interesting premise that was wasted as in my opinion it was also It was The Discovery, another raucous script that was featured with something interesting but was ruined by poor execution and bad actors.
Sometimes I think that platforms like Netflix only want the movies to come out to their platform as quickly as possible without having a quality control, in this case the number of movies in their catalog is the only important thing that the viewer does not really interested. If we have an infinity of films to see and we all know that they are bad productions beforehand, it is more than certain that we will not frequently touch these platforms.
Of course there are many things that are redeemable and truly good on Netflix but very few in the field of science fiction and horror. I am increasingly disappointed in the films of these genres released on this platform to the point that I think that the vast majority are disposable. Hopefully at some point we'll see some pretty interesting title like they did with Annihilation, which is one of the best that has been produced on Netflix so far.
Este es otro intento de emular lo antes visto con películas como Bird Box, A quiet Place o la reciente Silence pero debo decir que esta sería la peor de todas y es una pena porque tenía una premisa interesante que fue desperdiciada como bajo mi opinión también lo fue The discovery, otro estrepitoso guion que fue contaba con algo interesante pero fue arruinado por una mala ejecución y malos actores.
A veces pienso que plataformas como Netflix solo desean que las películas salgan a su plataforma de la manera más rápida posible sin contar con un control de calidad, en este caso el número de películas en su catálogo es lo único importante cosa que al espectador no le interesa realmente. Si tenemos una infinidad de películas por ver y todas ellas sabemos que son malas producciones de antemano es más que seguro que no tocaremos frecuentemente estas plataformas.
Por supuesto hay muchas cosas que son rescatables y verdaderamente buenas en Netflix pero muy pocas en el campo de la ciencia ficción y terror. Cada vez me decepciono más de las películas de estos géneros lanzadas en esta plataforma al punto que pienso que la gran mayoría son desechables. Ojala veamos en algún momento algún título bastante interesante como lo hicieron con Aniquilación que es de lo mejor que se ha producido en Netflix hasta ahora.
